  1. Seen on Japanese Nostalgic Car.. a little inspiration
  2. alternatively just search roof rack with the used option ticked and start trawling
  3. I reckon the person who took that photo at Hanging Rock was a highly talented photographer ;) They are racks that are of similar vintage to the car. Your best bets are going to be hard rubbish (seriously) or swap meets or ebay. a search of "vintage roofrack" usually brings up an interesting collection.
  4. Not organised by us. Download the entry form from the Rob Roy hillclimb and follow the payment details on the back page.
  5. Need more inspiration? Check out Frank in his RA28 from a few years back
  6. I know there are plenty of guys who would love to have a crack at hillclimbing but haven't for what ever reason. Here is your cheapest chance ever to have a run, thanks to the Victorian Hillclimb Panel. Next event at Rob Roy: Hillclimb "Come and Try" day - Sunday September 30 Everyone pays the $25 entry fee. If you do not have a CAMS competition licence, then you can purchase a one day licence with your entry for $25 If you are not a member of a CAMS affiliatied car club, you can purchase a one-day membership of the MGCC for $5. (join TCCAV now for $50 for the year!!) To enter, download the Entry form and Supplementary Regulations, then either: Open the Word file, edit it to add your information, then email the edited file back to the organisers Print out the PDF file, fill it in, then post to us. Note, entries WILL be accepted on the day, but pre-entry makes it easier, and less for you to do when you first arrive! Download the regs here - http://www.mgcc.com.au/competition/2012-catd.zip TCCAV will try and get as many of our members there as we can. If you have any questions about what to do, how to do it, what you need etc, ask away!
  7. Another great turn out, with some new faces drawn in by Ian's 3AW radio announcement. Good job! Here is a random smattering of nice machinery. Love the wheels Micko I really like this Corona of Long's.. great to see something different Mark's Sunny was also something different. Was a show car, now coming to a circuit near you! Car of the day was this Corona.. awesome wheels and ride height! Some really nice ae86's turned up. The one was sweet, love the colour Sweet highly original Ke10/11 And proof we love anything at Donuts... how gorgeous is this old Jag! Rest can be found here https://picasaweb.google.com/113432889999220868273/CarsCoffeeDonutsAugust2012?authuser=0&feat=directlink Next Donuts will be at Attwood Police Driver Training Centre.. supporting our tarmac motorkhana style event there. Should be good viewing!
  8. Ding dong donuts tomorrow morning :)
  9. Love love love!
  10. That is shit, I will ask our TCCA members to keep an eye out for you.
  11. I like Blue Thunder.. loved the movie when I was younger :) It drives well despite the racket in the engine bay. Sadly I think my engine issues are coming from inside the block rather than the head, but I will do a bit more investigating in the coming weeks. Would be good to avoid doing a rebuild or replacement engine.
  12. I am deadset farken hopeless. I lasted maybe a month before I bought another car to go club racing lol.. Saw this on ebay a few months ago and was keen but the timing was poor, however its popped up again this week so I snapped it up. It does officially break the "only three toy cars" rule at home, but I think its cheapness has let me sneak it in. The basics are its a 1986? (I will have to check that) Ae82 Corolla Twin Cam hatch. Someone clearly loved it and spent a lot of money on it at some point in its life. Has 20 valve conversion, reportedly done by Toyrolla Spares. Its very neat from the brief look I have had over it. Painted Ford Blueprint blue, and its still very neat. Interior needs a good steam clean and a general tidy up, but has real carbon fibre covers put on the top of the dash and a few other bits. Odd! Because race car? Has uprated suspsension of some kind, and nolathane bushes through out. I will explore more of what it has at some point soon. I am told I am not allowed to play with it until I get the Crown sorted, so it will get parked in the corner for the moment, though I know myself well enough to know that the parts hunting game is about to commence...shhhhhh ;) First major works will be to work out why the engine sounds like a man with a hammer at certain revs. Given the dude selling it had his mechanic dodgy up one main bearing, I am tipping its another one wanting to be done. So I will probably whip the engine out for a refresh and do it properly. It will also get my seat and harness, some wheels with semi's for racing purposes, and at some point some MRP coil overs. Couple of photos from the ebay ad. I will put some better ones up when I clean it up and the weather is better. You can see in the pics the front bar is a bit wombled. I might replace that and do the headlights and taillights too, so they are as fresh as most of the rest of the car. Maybe :) Stay tuned. Oh and it needs a name.. the colour is making me think Smurf... but I am open to suggestion.
  13. Pic of the mark Thatcher TE37 here http://www.autopics.com.au/item.mibiznez?id=7115 This might be the same one a few years later http://www.autopics.com.au/item.mibiznez?id=8122 But only the one pic of a KE25 that has already been posted.
  14. Give it to a trimmer in that case. Last time it was discussed someone suggested using a soldering iron for doing the holes. A drill can grab the carpet thread and pull massive wads of it out. That will make you sad.
  15. An early reminder that the Club Meeting is on next Tuesday 14th August. We have guest speakers too! Husband and wife team, Simon and Sue Evans, are guest speakers at our next club meeting on Tuesday 14th of August at the Emerald Hotel in South Melbourne. They will be showing footage and chatting about their experiences while touring on the ARC circuit, all the while on their way to an amazing four Australian Rally Championships. All members, and friends are welcome to attend and be a part of an entertaining night of automotive excellence. Dinner starts from 7.00pm with the meeting to begin in earnest from 8.00pm sharp
  16. Bumping up.. Northland Macca's this month. Murray Rd, Preston. August 19th, 8.30am Who is coming?
  17. Its car parts so quite easy to bring in I would have thought, especially since it is old and we can club rego them. A very cool development Parrot. Importmonster shouldn't have too many dramas getting to to you - strap it to a pallet and can be picked up on a forklift easy as pie.
  18. Given the ridiculous amount I paid for mine that was "rebuilt", which I then had to completely rebuild, I reckon you got a good deal.
  19. Maybe Scotts Old Auto Rubber Co. You could have a look and see if there is a listing on their online catalogue or take a sample in and see if he can match it.
  20. By all reports the cruise was a good one. Well done Pete. Hopefully I can do the next one... I just beat my plasterer home.. apparently I blasted past him on the ring rd..... Cool mix of cars, everything from a hot rod through to late model stuff. About 45 cars turned up in all, so a little down from last year's efforts, but still not bad for the middle of winter! A selection of my favourites. There were some other cool cars there but my camera is still playing up. Next month is Preston. Hopefully we get a massive turn out to that one. More pics here - https://picasaweb.google.com/adamlaws1974/CarsCoffeeDonutsJuly2012?authuser=0&feat=directlink
  21. So the cruise is evolving.. now a cruise to Meredith pub via some good back roads. Leaving after the Donuts meet winds up this Sunday
  22. Actually make that Ballarat... I read the original suggestion wrong.
  23. Hope you are starting to feel better Stu! A reminder that this is on this Sunday coming, 8.30am start. There is talk of a cruise after wards up to Bendigo for lunch if any one is keen....
  24. I like your plans. Great base for a good club car.
  25. For those wondering exactly where we will be - the end of Brimbank Rd in the carpark near Leaping Lizard Cafe
