  1. As posted by Ian on facebook, a reminder that tonight is the Club's general meeting night. Venue is the Emerald Hotel, Clarendon St, South Melbourne. Meeting starts at 8pm, people are congregating from around 7pm for dinner. I don't think I will make it - first day back at work after holidays and am well out of control already... le sigh....
  2. So just a heads up that I have updated the first page. November's event is now at Classic Japan on November 25th December's Christmas event is now on December 2nd, BBQ lunch, at Albert Park. More details of that to follow.
  3. Updated flyer is in the first post... and this post :)
  4. Bumping this up as it is going to be a cracker! Entrants need to be in between 8am and 9am on the day. Gold coin donation entry, with all proceeds going to beyondblue. Who is coming? What are you bringing?
  5. Good turn out again. Next month is Classic Japan! Photos photos photos - all manner of Toyotas and non Toyotas this month! Rest are here https://picasaweb.google.com/113432889999220868273/CarsCoffeeDonutsOctober2012?authuser=0&feat=directlink

  7. Josh do the right thing and report the car to the police. Someone could well be missing their pride and joy.
  8. Hi all... a reminder this is on this Sunday down at Cranbourne. Any one going to come along?
  9. So she resides in Sydney these days, but sadly she doesn't really fit into my brother's collection. As a result we are about to advertise her for sale. A few people have expressed interest. Now is your chance :)
  10. that looks like a $500 crown at best. really neat good ones sell for between $2500 and $5000... so $1500 for one that needs lots of work is well over the top
  11. I think there will be quite a toyota contingent competing and spectating. awesome!
  12. So any rolla people coming along?
  13. the dude who runs celica spares in queensland is a complete scammer. gordon is well known in celica circles for selling sh*t to interstate people. You only get what you pay for if you actually rock up on his door step. sleekaspares in south australia are awesome and i have found them to be exceptional for buying bits for my ra23
  14. Williamstown was west too :)
  15. Woot woot... reminder that Donuts is on this Sunday. 8.30am. As a bonus you can spectate on the tarmac motorkhana that some of our members will be indulging in. Should be a cracker!
  16. If you want to stick with 12" wheels and tyres I would use the port a walls. dimitris from cyprus is the cheapest option http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Atlas-12-Whitewall-PORT-A-WALL-Tire-Insert-Set-/280964076919?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item416ac39577
  17. Meeting is tonight. I won't be in attendance as I will still be at work. Someone please have a pizza for me! Have fun.
  18. I am sooooo ʞ©$ɟing stoked today! I put my fuel tank back in after it was repaired and tipped some fuel in. With the help of one of my club mates Rob (thanks Rob!!), lots of start ya bastard and fuel down the carb, she fired! It took the grunt of the battery out of my work ute to get it firing, but once she was going, she settled down to an almost perfect idle. I couldn't believe how good it was considering its sat for nearly 30 years! The bypass pipe was cracked so I will need to replace that, and I need to get a top hose, since the one I got out of the Gates catalogue was no where near the right size or shape. I also managed to get my reco radiator into it and do the thermostat, and put the brake master cylinder and wheels cylinders on and bled up the brakes. My carpet arrived from Trufit, so its time to attack the interior too. The seats need to come out for retrimming, and I wil do the carpet while they are out. Mechanically I want to put a transmission cooler on it, and lower it. Will replace the leads and dizzy cap too. Cosmetically I need to work out a way to fit the chrome trims back down the side since all the stud plates have rusted away, and then put the grille back into it. I feel like its not far away now!!
  19. long plans are pretty much "low" crowns share the same front spring as most falcons, so will stick some superlows in the front rears are leaf.. so that will be lowering blocks might put shocks in it.. might leave them as they are if its not a woeful ride... trying to do it on a small budget, so don't want to get too carried away.
  20. Hi jturn. September is being held in conjunction with a motorkhana that TCCA is running on the same day at the venue. Starts 8.30am and people will be there for at least a couple of hours. Coffee van will be in attendance and it should be good to see some guys having a crack on the track.
  21. No no no :) Hopefully my M engine will start and I won't need to consider such things. In winning news today.. wheel cylinders didn't need resleeving. Just had seal kits put through them and they are good to go. Dropped off radiator and fuel tank for some loving. Progress is nice :)
  22. its lucky you are in brisbane phil... it keeps the temptation far enough away :)
  23. Oh its been well aired.. don't worry about that. I won't be welding it.. I will get someone who knows what they are doing to do that :)
  24. Now that my bathroom renos are approaching finished.. its time to get serious about the Crown. I put it on stands today, and got the wheels off so I could get the wheel cylinders off and re-sleeved. Turns out Don must have done the brakes at some point while it was sitting in his shed. Front linings are brand new. Rear wheel cylinders look like they were brand new too. I am still going to take them to get sleeved as I don't imagine sitting for 20 years has done them any good. He must have put a brand new muffler on it too. It still has the part sticker on it.. and now plenty of rust!! Says Toyota Masterline on it, which is what they called the wagons in Japan I think. I also pulled the fuel tank out while she was up in the air. As it turns out wreckers drain the old fuel from a fuel tank by putting a 30mm hole saw through the bottom of the tank :( I only worked this out when I went to put some fuel in it and it quickly ended up on the shed floor! So out she comes to be patched and welded up....
  25. Welcome Jake Cool love bus! Keep an eye on the Vic section as plenty of our meets are publicised here... there is at least 2 or 3 things on a month through TCCAV.
