  1. I think you are on the money, it doesn't sound like car that is worth 5.5K
  2. He certainly is. I run his facebook page for him and update it randomly - https://www.facebook.com/peterrobinsonautomotive He is still old school and prefers phone calls though. 03 9544 1162
  3. That was my plan of last resort. I know excellent machinists who will no doubt come up with a result but it just won't be in the time frame needed for this week :-)
  4. See the problem is I am inherently lazy and want shit I can just bolt in and get on with it :) I will come chat thought Stu! I have read in the FAQ that the 20 has a collapsible column that fits I think.
  5. Late 80s st162. Not all seem to have had this wheel so perhaps it was an sx version.
  6. As it stands the workshop you seek does not exist in Melbourne.
  7. Well at least I am not going mad if others have had the same issue! Feral4k saas may well have changed which pattern they use over the years. Momo spec is different to Nardi spec for instance. Parrot I will pm you. The borrow will be a good place to start - wanted to do something easy just for winterfest and it's so far not gone to plan!
  8. Grumble grumble grumble..I hate when parts that should fit don't.... So I have a nice Momo steering wheel I wish to fit to my KE15 Sprinter, as step 1 of its club racing transformation. I bought a SAAS boss kit that says it suits KE10-16 (Part Number is BK39L) It came with the pins in the back to cancel the indicator, so I figured I was on to a good thing. When I went to fit it, I found that it would not slide down the taper on the steering column shaft any where near far enough and it sits a good 10-15mm proud of where it should be. The brass horn ring inside it is in a very different position compared to a stock steering wheel too but let's deal with one issue at a time. Does any one know if the column taper would have differed on an imported Sprinter vs an Aussie assembled Corolla? I would have thought not, but I don't know how else to explain it, other than shite manufacturing!! Any ideas on what I can do to address it.. or does any one have a proven boss that suits a Momo wheel that they might want to part with? Thanks in advance! Adam
  9. Ain't that the truth... as well as there being a market for a mechanic who specialises in 4AGE in Victoria.. there also be a market for plug and play wiring harnesses..... I am full of business ideas, just ask me :)
  10. That would be Sonya, AKA Soyboy.. not sure she has been on here in years. They live around those parts. Between her and her partner Andrew they have some awesome Toyotas.
  11. I have yet to hear about a shop in Melbourne that specialises in Corollas and 4AGE conversions. I am sure there is a market there though :) "KE Conversions" - find them on facebook - can do some of the hardware for you - engine mounts, hydraulic clutch pedal conversion... Carbs or EFI? EFI will need fuel system upgrade - pumps etc, and wiring. There might be guys on AE86 Driving Club who can help do it in their backyard shops for you.
  12. Could well be the best 45 buck wrecker spend I have ever made!
  13. Seats. Dash. Steering wheel. Console. Badges. Engine. Those are the main indicators.
  14. Apparently we are hosting a AE95 love fest too... cars are coming from all over the country if I am to believe the facebook posts!
  15. Celica steering wheel fitted. Mmmm leather ;) Gee I need to give it a vacuum, looks filthy in the photo!
  16. Yeah I am happy to sell the nudge bar Rhys. Pm me an offer you think is reasonable.
  17. And fixed SX lip fitment to come.
  18. Shannons are a little more sensible than that and my panel beater is a Toyota club member and enthusiast so we worked together to ensure she lived on. Yes t series diff I am told but having never pulled one apart I have no idea what axles they run.
  19. Probably. Bit spoilt for choice with the celica and this to choose from. AE95 guys are organising a big meet for winterfest too so the pressure is on there too!
  20. Updates... She is in at the panel beaters getting repaired. Will come back out with a seca style flat bonnet, and a series 1 front bar, and SX lip too. I hope it looks good! Before she went in I managed to source some genuine cupholders for her. I also have been wanting a nice leather steering wheel for her. Since all the SX ones generally have stuffed leather, I followed Micko's lead and have grabbed a ST162 Celica leather wheel. Looks the part. Feels the part. Apparently just bolts on. That will go on when she comes out of the panel shop. Well spent $45 I reckon!
  21. No updates of note really.. drove her to Cars Coffee and Donuts last Sunday and she was well behaved. Hooked up some heater hoses and installed a 20A fuse in the heater circuit (instead of the blown 10A one in there) and suddenly she has heat and a windscreen demister. Happy days! Also acquired a Momo steering wheel for her, just waiting on a boss to arrive now and that will all be installed as my first "serious" upgrade. Photos from the day

  23. This seems like an appropriate place to ask my carb question... My little KE15 runs a stock 4k.. i bought it will a weber 45 on it which was clearly much too much carb for a stock engine, so I have taken that off and it currently has a stock single carb on it. In the interests of gaining a few more herbs what is my best bet.. I can get hold of the 3kb twin carbs and manifold... can you still buy rebuild kits for them? And do two standard single carbs bolt up, or is there mods required to get them to fit on the 3kb manifold?
  24. Parrot is on the money I reckon.. have them cleaned properly on an injector cleaning machine and they will be as good as new. How good is an AE95, I do love mine :)
  25. Any one been down to Centre Rd of late? After my little crash in the AE95 I may need a bumper, bonnet and left front guard off a ae92 seca/95 wagon If any one knows if there is anything down there that would be great, as its no longer 2 minutes from work :)
