    Spotted

Spotted an Orange 20 parked on Pulteney Street last night at about 5:45pm. I didn't get a good look as I was flying past but it had patchy paint.
  3. Gotta agree with benzo, the 4 door looks awesome. Everyone always wants what they can't have. Lovin the colour of this car too. The 120 hours was definately worth it. Great stuff.
  4. Oh this thing is nice. It has that crystal clear window look about it. Great colour. Good stuff. Keep the progress pics coming.
  5. Here is the easiest and friendliest place to get a venetian: O'Brien Auto Shades Pty Ltd 27 Gordon Rd, Black Forest, SA 5035 ph: (08) 8293 1477 Will cost you about $180....... I bought one only about 6 weeks ago and that was the price. I gotta back everyone else's comments here............. Keep it NANNA !!! Whitewalls, Hubcaps, Venetian, Visor, Slam It.... Roll It !!!!!
  6. Defo a big fan of the visor look myself, but I like the solid ones, not the mesh looking ones. At the end of the day......... it matters not what anyone else thinks....... build a car you love.
  7. ehehehe......... thats cos I attached the wrong photo and never realised it :y: ............. the one above is taken from the hill by a tall person too.......... me :y: this one below is the one I meant about across the road from a tall building......
  8. Sorry mate I didn't get such a pic. The other pics I took of it are below:
  9. Oh and also had to post this pic that one of the AJD organisers managed to take from the top of a tall building over the road. Hope they don't mind me posting it here. Awesome Photo:
  10. Had to post pics of this KE10 that was at AJD. This car was absolutely beautiful.
  11. Yeh that is Joe's car. I guess it was a bit of free advertising for him for Wheelworx, but it sucks because the laws on wheel size fitment have changed in SA and from what I understand those wheels are now considered legal. At least the good news is that he doesn't have to take it through Regency to have the defect removed, just down to the local cop shop.
  12. Thats how it should be. Hope all is well Adam. As for AJD..... it's almost 9am and the rain has stopped and the sun is trying to get a look in. Gonna be sludgey down there, but weather might just be good to us.
  13. No worries charl. Every car I have has the whitewall treatment and it is a pretty good bet that every car I get in the near future will also cop it. Three things can make any car cool...... whitewalls, a venetian blind and some slamming. When I say any car..... I even mean Camira's. The flappers are in fact inserted between the rim and the tyre, so tyre is let down, flapper inserted and tyre pumped up again. It involves having tubes in your tyres as well to save any ongoing slow leak problems. The first set I had installed for my Corty I had tubes put in as I was told I had too. Never had a problem with them. The second set I had done for my Stout I was told it was my choice, so I went without and had slow leaks from two corners which on a non-daily is very annoying. So I went and had tubes put in. So, four tubes will cost you $20 each if you don't have them already. The flappers will cost you $120 from John and to take to a tyre place and have them installed should be no more than $5 a wheel. The other thing to be aware of is that flappers do discolour around the edge but this can be kept under control with regular cleaning with windex or similar. I have had the ones on my Cortina for a few years now and they still look great. Not sure if John would be there on a Saturday but definately give him a ring. Be sure to post pics when you have the flappers on mate. This car is gonna look cool as.
  14. Hey charl, firstly great project. Keep up the good work. I think people need to remember that not everyone has the same amount of money to spend when doing up a car. As much as it is not rare now to have a flat black car, it is still good fun and always turns heads. I had a flat black Sunny for a while with red rims and whitewalls and it was a bunch of fun for the total outlay of $415 which included the purchase of the car, paint, material to do some backyard retrimming, whitewalls etc etc. Anyway.. I digress............ Whitewalls........ you have two options.......... You can buy the 13inch flapper rubber inserts for $120 for a set of four from John at Antique Motor Spares in Wingfield. His number is 8268 5540. Here's some I had done: Or.... Get hold of Derel from Whitewalls SA on 0427 715380. He will come to you and for just $80 he will do half inch or three quarter inch walls in many varied colours (white is most popular of course). For $120 he can do double walls like I had done:
  15. People that have applied should be starting to hear back as I received an email this morning confirming I'm in for this event. I'm excited !!!! Also Rolla20, I reckon they would be very happy to get your entry from my understanding of what they are looking for.
  16. This gentleman you mention has two KE10's of his own. Very friendly fellow in fact and I spent a bit of time talking to him learning about 10's, 11's and 20's as I am looking to get my rear end into one and like to do my research before I try to find a suitable example. These two guys have a lot of knowledge.
  17. I agree with leorolla1975. If you are even considering applying, then just do it. The worst can happen is they knock you back. It would be so great to see lotsa old skoolers there though. I certainly hope to be there. I was in the Toyoshow earlier this year and was very disappointed that there was only one KE20 and one KE11 there. Nothing else 60's or early 70's which was a shame because I know there are a lot of real cool 10's, 11's, 20's etc in Adelaide. Some of you guys on this forum have them so I am hoping to see you all at this event. Here is the 11 that TOM mentioned. Real nice car.
  18. :hmm: For many many years I have been wanting this to happen. All Japanese Day.....
