Yeh there are craploads of 20's in Adelaide. I have never seen this particular red/orange one before though.
  2. Awesome...... I love these utes. Would love to have one in my collection but they are pretty rare these days. When you get a chance bang some pics up of the two you have bought to give us all an idea of what your starting point is. Agree with silverra23, check what the boys in Japan get upto with their crowns. The mooneyes website is jam packed with awesome stuff.

Spotted a sweet looking Red/Orange (not factory colour) KE20 this morning at 9:15 on Goodwood Rd heading into city. I was a fair few cars back and saw it turn right onto Greenhill Rd and then it disappeared. I was ducking and weaving lanes trying to get a closer look. It had aftermarket rims and was slightly lower than standard but not super low. It looked pretty nice but I would have loved a closer look.

Yesterday (Saturday) at 2pm heading North on marion Rd crossing daws Rd intersection.... Beige KE70 or AE71...... absolutely on it's guts with blacked out steelies. Looked freakin awesome. Lowest Esev I have seen. Well done whoever you are!!
  5. O'Brien Auto Shades Pty Ltd 27 Gordon Rd, Black Forest, SA 5035 ph: (08) 8293 1477 A search of the forum would have found you this info as it has come up several times before. Yep ek61, it's the same guy. You will have to go see him as he doesn't have an R31 venetian on eBay and possibly has never made one before for an R31. However he will bang one up with no trouble for about $250 for a custom job such as that. Several mates have had them custom made for their cars. I had one custom made for my Stout. He is a great bloke and will do one for any car. He brings a bit of paper out to your car and traces your window and then hammers one out that you can pick up a couple days later depending how busy he is. It's quite impressive. I have never known one to not fit perfectly.
  6. Have seen some good pics on various forums from interstate guys at night time with cityscape in background. I dunno any good spots around Adelaide to do that but I'm sure some of you guys do such that you could have a good amount of Adelaide's city lights behind the car (maybe along the Torrens somewhere?). If Raven is willing to give some time to do a shoot with the long exposure thing going on then that would be pretty awesome to get a few cars together to do that.

Sweet lookin ride mate. To be honest I think the MS55/65 crown caps are done....... I have a set which have been waiting to go onto my 11 but I honestly like the look better without..... blacked out rims and whitewalls looks good imo (as can be seen in my sig), kinda old school racer look......... kinda gets to a point where everyone does the same thing.... slammed, venetian, whitewalls, 14 inch steelies, crown caps...... don't get me wrong, I love that look, hell that's why I bought my 11 in the first place, but they don't all have to be the same. Anywho after saying all that, you defo need to bring the front down a bit..... I wouldn't go crazy at the back, if at all. Great transformation though

Oh hell yeh, gotta keep the strip.... looks bland without it, and also gotta lose the badges. Great chopping smeetsy !!!
  9. Holy Crap!!!!! I haven't looked at this thread for many months. Your car looks sensational. Once you have ironed out the final issues you will be loving it. I wouldn't go too crazy with lowering either. I think not-low is the new low.

Yep keep the side strip.... this car has gone from strength to strength. Simply sensational!

Followed a KE55 (I think, but maybe a 30 cos I don't know them too well) down Winston Avenue at 6pm tonight. Was mustard/yellow in colour and had the black bullet style fender mirrors. Was pretty low too. Whoever you are dude, firstly your car looked pretty cool, but also you have both brake lights out and your left tail-light. Lucky I didn't bump into the back of you cos my brain tends to only let my foot use my brake pedal if I see a brake light in front of me.
  12. I buzzed through the carpark at Woodville at about 4:05pm. I had elsewhere to be so I didn't stop, but it seemed that there were no RC members there anyway. Was probably 15-20 cars at that time. No early Rolla's at all which is what I was hoping to see. There was one Esev that I saw. Otherwise mostly 1990's cars.... Celica, Soarer etc. Weather would have kept a few people away I'd say.
  13. mate this is terrible news.... I'm so sorry to hear that..... I think this makes so much worse reading knowing how much work you put into that car........ One thing I can be certain of is that the next car you get will also look sensational and in fact probably even better as you fine tune your skills. The best bit is that you are okay cos you obviously got a fair thump.
  14. Ahhhh this must be the car I saw on Fiveash drive on Saturday afternoon about 4:30pm. You were following a yellow T18 also with fender mirrors. Both cars looked cool.
  15. I've seen this "lady" bailed up on Hindley street by the police. Agree with Timmeh I've had a few: "MR CRUZ" - Was on my Valiant convertible "DROPPED" - Was on one of my Mk1 Cortina's........ wanted "DUMPED" but it was taken at the time. A guy pulled up alongside me once and said "yeh it should be Dropped.... off a cliff". Then I got rid of the plates. Hehe. "LO LIFE" - Was on my Cortina for a very short time but the police liked it too much "LO RIDA" - Was on my Rambler Now I prefer to get re-issued R & S number plates here in SA that mean something like Mitch said earlier in this thread. (ie SLO-065 on my '65 Toyota Stout) A few that caught my attention: HALUCN8 - On a fully sick Commo (thats sarcasm by the way..... I can't stand Commo's but I thought the plate was clever) BALLSY - yet another commo HONEY - on a black BMW convertible.... and yes indeedy BLUECAR - a blue kingswood that has everything painted blue. Adelaide Icon material. Bumpers are blue, rear louvre is blue, EVERYTHING is blue
  16. I've had a fair supply of cars. The ones I love the most I try to keep forever which I have still got one of my Mk1 Cortina's and my Toyota Stout cos I love them. The cars I miss the most are below. "MR CRUZ" My '70 VG Valiant 'Vert is one I miss plenty heaps. It was even in an advert on tv. Was a genuine Pacer that some clown cut the roof off. I didn't know that when I bought it, but a mate checked the numbers for me when he worked at Mitsi's to find this to be the case. The other one that I miss soooo much is my very first Mk1 Cortina.... it's the one on the very right of the photo at the bottom (had to scan pics cos they were before I had a digital camera). All 4 of those cars were mine at the time. Loved my FB surfy wagon also. Only one of those cars I still have is the Mk1 on the very left and I could never get rid of it. Just one of my many toys now. :y:

4:50pm today heading south on Fiveash Drive - 1 yellow T-18 and one yellow ESev Wagon. Both had fender mirros and were one behind the other. Both looked super freakin cool. Also saw a sweet 20 on Lonsdale Highway heading city bound this arvo, woulda been after 4pm. Think it was willow green, maybe beige (I'm bad with colours). Usual nanna-spec, whitewalls, venetian, hubbies and loooow! Looked sweet.
  18. That is freakin sweet friend. Please keep it like it is. 4 door 20's are super cool. Why is it that we always want what we can't have. I agree with benzo, ship that over to Straalya and he and I will fight over it. That's now my favourite 20 on the forum. Great work 74KE20. :y:
  19. Yep.... that's factory. When you see the one in toowoomba next, please tell them that it's best if they sell it to a guy you know in Adelaide :y:
  20. Yup, love my swamp cooler, although it is rare to find anyone that knows what the hell it is even at hotrod shows, and I love my Mk1 Corty's. Have had many of them but this one for the longest and I still have it. I still can't believe I was lucky enough to have it featured in Classic Ford last year and it made the top 12 feature cars of the year. Just right place, right time, with the right look I think. Go the ratters!!!!!!
  21. Jeez I could post on this thread all day like most of us could....... I will keep it sensible though........ Gotta say that it looks like I have very similar tastes in automotive transport to philbey...... love anything cool !!!!!! Special mention to kickn5k for mentioning the Lancia Stratos and philbey again for mentioning the Renault Alpine. Only seen one of each in the flesh and deadset flipped my $h!t A few of my favourites and in order of appearance: VW Type 34 Karmann Ghia Porsche 914 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille 1973 Toyota Stout - like mine but newer and lower  Toyota Crown Double Cab Ute Mk1 Cortina Fastback (x2 pics) - like mine but less doors and round-ier :y: Mk1 Cortina Estate Wagon - like mine but Wagon-ier BMW Batmobile VW Type 3 Notch '51 Chev Step Van
  22. Bahahahahahaha.......... "BUMSEX" Actually these Falc's are pretty quick. I remember the first time I saw one when they first came out and I didn't realise they were Turb'd. Got my doors blown off.... can't remember what I was driving but I just know at the time that it was quicker than the NA Falc's at that time. Damn snail strapon got me though. 8/

Spotted Mitch's 20 last night at about 10:30pm parked on a street off Cross Rd in the Glandore area. Unless it was the Mitch clone car. ;) Either way the car made me smile.
