  1. Love it! Was one at a swap meet in Adelaide last year for $800. I was so close. They are a sexy car if you ask me.
  2. I feel sick!
  3. Nice. I like the ghosted flames.

White KE70 parked on Hindley late on Saturday night with Watanabe's I think. Looked pretty good. |blink| Edit: Forgot to mention it was slammed!
  5. Not really trying to sell it, but would be happy to sell it aswell. Only problem is that I would get nothing for it compared to what it cost me to build, so not too fussed on selling it either. Makes an ineteresting shed ornament. Be aware RedKE30, costs of these things can blow out unless you are happy to just buy one off the shelf and that's it. I built mine over 5 years ago and I had a few custom bits made. Whole thing ended up costing me over 3 Grand. Sadly it still just looks like a generic off the shelf Lowrider. ;) Custom framed ones are. Mine is just a standard Dragster long frame with mainly off the shelf parts. As I said.... seemed like a good idea at the time, but that was 5 to 6 years ago when I was just becoming interested in the custom and lowrider scene. I do still however want a '63/'64 Impala with bags to go with the bike. :D I don't like having stuff that's the same as everyone else's and even wanting an Impala from that era annoys me cos they are so popular, but I can't help but love them as well. Same with my Rolla..... there are at least 6 other white ones in Adelaide that pretty much look the same as mine. Not usually my style, but I can't help but love it.
  6. Hehe.... okay I deserved that..... my only defense is that it seemed like a good idea at the time. ;) Also once I got the Stout it was something to put in the back for a bit of a giggle.
  7. You might have to if you buy any more cars :D Edit: Changed "too" to "to". Stay in School kids! ;)
  8. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet !!! ;) Awesome shots from you both.
  9. Ohmygod...... this is brilliant !!!!!! Nice play irokin ;)
  10. Oh please............ buy mine!

4:37pm to be precise. Orange KE20 (nope, not nickyboy) turning right off Anzac Hwy onto Beckman Street at Glandore. Looked pretty neat but I didn't get too close.
  12. Yeh I'm gonna convert all my pics to B&W to take away your advantage. :jamie: Of the Rolla's it w ill only affect you and Kim...... everyone else had either a Black or White Rolla there.
  13. The car with the D on it is awesome. I love it! I want it!
  14. Great pics bloke. Great to meet some of Adelaide's old skool Rolla owners and best of all see all the cars together. My favourite pic out of that lot.........
  15. That I have no issue with. In fact i'd love a 5k in mine. Original from the outside will still make me very happy :)

    I spotted this last night.
  17. I might do something like that some time. Sadly there would be a few that I wouldn't even be able to find photo's of. I don't think I've had anything amazing, but I've had a lot of fun with the cars I've had. Correct. That is the long term plan...... but my biggest problem is that if I save enough money to do a full resto or even start a resto on the car then I would rather go buy another cool car for the collection. That is what has happened so many times over the years. Being a ratter was never in the planning for this car. It was supposed to be a track car. That's definately out the window for this car now, would rather have something else if I was going to do track work. The other problem I have is that if I was going to do a resto it would kill me trying to pick a colour. I think about it a lot and I change my mind constantly and it's not even on the cards to happen, so imagine if I was actually going to do it how much of a twist my mind would be in. I remember my first colour combo I wanted for the car was satin black with a hot pink lotus style stripe down the side. Well over that now. I went through wanting it Lime Green, Bright Orange, Super Bright Tint Only Yellow, BMW M3 Gold from the late 90's, Sky Blue with a white roof etc etc etc etc. Maybe I would just go the original colour Kurrajong Green. No idea really. The problem with resto-ing this car is that it's all well and good if you see it go past, you think.... oh there's a nice Cortina. If you see it at all British Day at Uraidla it becomes just another Cortina. In it's current form however.... love it or hate it..... you can't help but look at it. The Mk1 Cortina purists and those in the Cortina Club hate it and won't even talk to me. I think that's hilarious.
  18. You've made me feel very happy!
  19. You are starting to spin me out! Looks clean as. I have total faith this car will soon look more amazing than it already does. Great pick up mate.
  20. Bahahahahahaha.......... Finally the Swamp Cooler pays off !!! :) Yeh they're not cheap Ken, but in all honesty..... if you want to turn a more diverse set of heads than your car normally would, then they are a good investment. I have had the full spectrum of people ask me about it, car enthusiast or not. Driving with it on is a classic. People almost crash their cars looking at it. Probably not a good thing. Thanks for all the good comments guys. Kinda made me have a bit of love for the ol' Corty again.
  21. Thanks chaps. Been meaning to put this car up for a long time, but never got around to it. Just seemed like a fun thing to do last night after a few refreshing Australia Day bevvies. :D Not too sure how you have seen this car before Troy. I guess pics of it have gotten around on diff forums etc. The funny thing about the rat style (HoodRide as I prefer to call it) is that it's not quite as easy to pull off as some people think. It's not as simple as having a piece of c**p and claiming it's a ratter. It needs some attention to detail and the highlighted areas of the car need to work together so the whole thing still looks good. I think it's easy to over-do it too. Back in Early 2006 when this hit the road in Adelaide it was very rare to see a ratter that wasn't an actual Rat Rod. Even they weren't prolific, but they were around. Even more rare was to see a non yank tank ratter. Darren's VW (Boris for those of you playing at home) and my Cortina caused quite a stir at many shows in the early stages. Sadly the ratter styling has become fairly played out over the years and when you see on some forums people turning up with 1991 Honda Accords that are just in totally $h!thouse condition and claiming them to be "Rat Rods", you just want to shoot people. I got over it and hence the Corty has been relegated to the back of the line again in the last 2 years. Anyhow a couple of things I'd like to point out that some of you may not have noticed........... firstly there is a fair few number plate changes on this car as you look through the pics. It took me a while to decide what I wanted. Also if you look at the bonnet you will notice that the badging says "PATINA". Probably my favourite bit on the car. Also there's the genuine old skool cams badge on the grille and if you were to see the car in the metal you would be able to see the pencil lines still on the boot where I was marking up where the stripes would go. :hmm:
  22. As many of you know I was lucky enough in September last year to score another photoshoot. This time for "Retro Cars" which is also a British magazine. Here's a few pics of the Corty from that and also my Rolla and Stout. Promise I won't post any more pics for a bit. Sorry for so many. I get excited :D
  23. And here is the photoshoot for "Classic Ford". Ended up with a 6 page spread. As I said above...... I was a pig in mud. Always dreamed of getting a car of mine featured..... never in my wildest dreams thought it would be the Sporty Corty however. :hmm: And here is the article...... even got a little pic of my car on the front cover. :D
