  1. Some more, I like this thread...... Used a tree as a fulcrum point to "jack up" a car with a tractor expanding foam in a tire to fix a puncture Stockings used as a fan belt Beer can used to patch a hole in the side of the block caused by one of the pistons deciding it wanted to travel the world, held in with rope (yay for the mighty 202, drove us 135 Km home......) Ran a 180B wagon on 2 stroke for 6 months after we discovered we'd split the sump open on a rock, eventually died due to failing to clean the dry chem off the engine, that stuff's bloody corrosive....... Exhaust pipe split it's weld attaching it to its muffler, became rattly, so I cut it off...... yet to fix...... But don't really care Gravity fed a car to get it home after fuel pump died, was interesting..... Repaired a split fuel line with electrical tape just outside of Hobart after the flames went out......... That one was fun...... Let's hear some more gems from Sir Shades....... :)
  2. Haha, glad you liked it...... My back was sore for a while, but I was able to poop just fine :)
  3. Headlights strapped in with Cable Ties Accelerator Pedal mounted with a Tec (roofing) screw Race seat mounted to a steel spacer so it would reach the rails, also mounted with tec screws "adjusted" the kink in the chassis by strapping the rail to a tree and backing up really fast Couldn't get the last quarter of my exhaust to fit, so now it dumps straight down in front of the diff Wired horn in with speaker cable (passed roady) And many many more.......
  4. ^^ That was me.......
  5. The article I wanna see it running now......
  6. Aaaaawwwwww, so sweet.......

  10. Oh shit....... My bad......
  11. Try this guy maybe?
  12. Sure, feel free to rock around anytime....... May want to fire me a text to see if I'm at work first though..... :P
  13. So mine would be an externally ignited one then? My problem is that I don't have a Denso ignitor........ Um, so a bosch will do as a temporary fix? And Another thing, I've seen something about changing the coil from the one that requires a ballast resistor (the long round one) to the other one (rounded off triangle one)..... technical terms I'm sure..... Is that necessary?
  14. Ok, here it is, I have purchased a 5K for my rolla, I noticed that there were 3 wires poking out the side of the dizzy, this made me pop it open to have a look, inside the dizzy there is a flat black disk with little slots in it, I assume that this is an "electric dizzy" as I saw something kinda similar recently...... Now, the problem, my understanding is that I need an "ignitor box" to make the car run, so I went and had a good look about for one, but to no avail...... However I found several on other (admittedly bigger engined) cars, all with an "Ignitor 31" sticker on them, would these be usable on the 5K? Due to my complete ignorance of electrics, I take this to mean that I can hook up the engine as I normally would, as the 5K already has an ignitor built into it, but what do I do with those 3 wires hanging from the dizzy? Surely they do something....... Can someone straighten this out for me in as simple a way as possible please? My other option is to rip the dizzy out and get the auto sparky to see if he can make it work with some other ignitor..... He said something about a Bosch ignitor that *may* work, but I'm hoping for something a little more solid from someone here with previous experience...... Cheers guys.
  15. I've noticed this problem before..... I found that replacing the engine mounts and gearbox mounts with brand new nolathane ones helped it heaps...... To be fair, mine were utterly shagged.... Of course this may be completely unrelated to your problem, and it could well be the clutch or even the diff...... But just crawl under the car and have a look to see if your mounts (particularly the gearbox mount) have perished, cracked, become soft or as per my case split in half...... :lolcry: Good luck with it......
  16. The neutral switch should be on the shifter unit itself...... Relay maybe? :D I know there are a few relays behind that kick panel, no idea what they all do though......
  17. W16, will pass the pits easy as...... :D
  18. There should be 2 bolts holding the starter in place, once you remove those, it'll slide out of it's slot and you'll be good to go. :D
  19. Get a spare leaf pack and have it professionally reset....... And please, type in English....... That garbled pretend text language is somewhat unnecessary......
  20. I had a look about that, seem they are just under new ownership........ :hmm: Hopefully this is correct and the parts they supply will still be available for some time yet........
  21. More ended up on that couch than me....... :hmm: But my jumper copped the rest........ The return serve was fairly epic though, bulk respect for having a brothers back....... :)
