Now THAT'S a rusty bitch...... :P Find it at the bottom of a lake? plans?
-
I assume you're meaning the torque converter? You should be able to get to the bolt with a extension piece on a socket driver from the front (fan end) of your engine looking back...... If you turn the flywheel slowly you should be able to see one of the bolts, undo, turn, repeat, beats the hell out of grinding it off......
-
He's looking good and healthy man, quite a bit bigger too..... :P

ke20rolla: Mine will never be as nice as yours though man, I'm not THAT patient, lol. I'm stoked with this car but, the colour just works with it...... I may be hitting you up for some advice and comparisons against yours in the near future, once I get stuck into it I'll likely need to ask a fair few q's..... Casey: The bonus of not having an engine/gearbox in it, so much easier to move..... Doogs: Plans for the body are to neaten it up a bit and keep it as factory as possible, same paint colour because I love it, remove the minor rust and look after it, that's about it.....

Will gladly take the K50 off your hands..... Keeping this one stock for the most part Si, the boost motor is going into Fonkey when the time is right...... :) Tidy, drive, enjoy. Best part is, the missus actually likes it! So I dodged another bullet..... (at least for the moment.......) :)

Ok, so I just got this home last night, needs some work but will be a fun little project in between Fonkey and ORB...... Oh really? Google has Hello kitty stuff? Never would have thunk it....... Shame all the articles are from 2006/7....... Not to worry, I found one in the US...... On topic: A cat on a door.

I was right behind Si and I can say for certain I was making a damn sight more noise than he was...... So it wasn't the noise thing then..... Dumb luck?

I've been looking for one of those for ages, anyone know if you can still get them?
-
I'm not complaining, was just saying I was bricking pretty hard about the time I realised the bonnet wouldn't open...... lol

If you're in an area bad enough to worry about it, park in a well lit area (or better yet, a garage) remove the rotor button when you park and leave nothing of any value whatsoever inside the car, have a decent (read: NOT CHEAP) car alarm and immobiliser fitted and don't go installing hektic stereo's into Kesevs...... All commonsense things really, but before anyone says it, don't put all your faith in Solex locks, they can be gotten past like they weren't even there and lets face it, they are ugly locks....... Hope this helps.....
-
:P Look out Si, they comin to get ya  Love how they made a beeline straight for you though :) *edit* Was a touch worried when I was asked to open the bonnet to prove your engine was basically the same as mine, but all was well, good thing the engine wasn't covered in oil like it is now....... ;)

Slight delay, but here a few pictures from the weekend, enjoy. Sadly the KE18 went home on a trailer after it ate the core out of it's radiator, will be resurrected once again in reasonably short order and be ready to roll again!

Ok, a quick ping to update everyone on current progress...... Since the engine crapped out on me, I've obtained an extremely interesting 5K, overall unknown specs, but it apparently has had some work thrown at it, at the very least it's got a cam set to "lumpy" spec, but I haven't really looked into it further...... It came with an electric dizzy, which I couldn't wire in due to not having all the components needed to do so, as a result the electric dizzy was removed and replaced with a points dizzy from the old 4k, now it's tuned in and running beautifully...... New temperature gauge fitted and wired in (Thanks to Banshee), the taco no longer bounces all over the place after rewiring, cleaning the earths and wiring a capacitor/diode thingy (banshee again) into it and now all is well..... Front bumper and headlights now aligned, new rear bumper (all metal and shiny) fitted, wing mirrors replaced with nicer ones seeing as one got snapped off by a pedestrian........ And the car is now push-button start! Wheels stripped of paint (roughly), masked up and resprayed, a ghetto job, but came out well IMO...... And they do look the sexy..... Anyway, nuff jabber, pics! Got dish? Yeah, I got dish...... And posing for the sake of it......

YARR!

I'm there! :lolcry: Banshee will be there too, just need to fit the new water pump and the van will be rolling again.......

Link to news article This genuinely makes me angry, a complete lack of care or respect for the law and get away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist........ :P Should both be shot for idiocy.......

V-Tec, Yo. Worth a giggle...... A certain skill there......

*Wonders how long it took the co-driver to clean the bricks from his fire suit* There is some serious wheel work going on there......

So I'm outside having a late night chat (read: Smoko) with the next door neighbor in between matches of CS, and hear that unmistakable sound of tires locked up on wet asphalt, turn around and there is a *BANG*, closely followed by a blue Apollo partially airborne across the Kmart intersection, mounts the gutter, through the log fence thingy, and comes to a rest (mostly) in the car park....... We've locked the houses up, grabbed keys, phones etc. and done the bolt to make sure no-one was seriously injured, made a quick call to the authorities on the way there...... Get to the scene and the bloody thing is still running(!), the driver is very obviously trying to leave, this becomes apparent from the grinding and clunking coming from what's left of his drive train........ Ask the bloke if he's ok, and he hops out and asks us to help push the thing into the carpark, it's pretty plain to see it isn't going anywhere in a hurry, but he doesn't want to give up just yet..... And he's slurring his words pretty badly too..... :D By this stage the police have arrived, (under 2 mins response time, impressed) the bloke has seen them, turns to us and says, and I quote "ah f@$k, the pigs, you boys better get to walking, I don't have a licence" ;) at which point he locks the car and starts walking off...... ;) The police jump out of their squad car and ask me if I was the driver, I just point at the guy walking away and say "him", after a bit of fuss, they get him back to the squad car, breatho him (well and truly over the limit too), struggle to get a name off him, has no licence on him, in the car he goes....... We got asked a few questions, nice easy ones, "were we involved?" No "what did you see?" All of it "could you guys make a statement for us?" Sure, why not...... Stopped on the way there to have a chat with the friendly Kmart security lady and take a few happy snaps....... Enjoy the carnage...... The blokes likely gonna get reamed for this one....... Bloody oath he must have been moving though, the skids marks are about 40 meters long, and that's just before he hit the first traffic island....... And there is sump/transmission fluid from the traffic island all the way to the car, I amazed the thing could still run........ Sometimes, just sometimes, the right side of the law is a fun place to be........

"dodgy" Mods Youve Done To Your Car

Sad to hear you crashed, stoked to hear I helped in my own little way...... It's an old trick myself and mates dreamed up after we parked a paddock basher through a shed.......
