WGMG: People who can't keep personal and work time seperate. Having a girl from work messaging me infuriated that 'I have given her the shit tasks' while I'm knocked off today rar rar rar. Bottom of the matter is that I wrote it down on a piece of paper for the group instead of asking them all nicely. Apparently we are no longer friends due to this.. Lesson for today: Seems like most of Gen Y has NFI that work isn't just a social call. -.-'

This is what I love 'ish' about Darwin. All my good mates are Toyota owners, from AE's to Supra's, Soarers and Chasers. Half of the group even owns cars that aren't Toyota or even import, bikes and everything else and appreciates them for what they are. Most of them even lend out a helping hand to those up here who don't know much about the Nissan or the Subaru that they purchased. Just seems to be a different mindset between the majority of Toyota owners and other owners from what I've noticed young or old.

Ban On Young People Driving High-Powered Cars Mooted
Tume replied to altezzaclub's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Honestly find this part a bit insulting, sounds like you're condemming a vital part of society with that comment :S Ignoring that though; I think the best way to go about this is some better education in school (Driver Ed). Half of the stuff isn't retained once people leave high school as its of no use. Whereas something like this would be used repeatedly on a daily basis. -
Carbon Wrapping... Why oh why oh why. Ohwell in the end it looked alright :P

Agree to a point. However personally I don't think we have completed the mission yet. (Afghanistan that is, overdue for Timor due to just being an aerolift capability for them using our money instead of theirs)

Same. Pretty sure soundwave is already on the same weekend as clipsal. I'll be guttered if I have to chose between the 3. Also Raven, I had found the website for last one and sent an email to the contact as it didn't seem to be date specific but didn't get a reply. I'll hunt down this other person and try and source some info.

I feel even more worried about when my generation is in politics then the current generation. I mean seeing as the current generation level in policitcs are the parents of the future gen :S.

Shady, I agree with this in my original post I said its fine when they are being integrated and a part of the workforce, its when people are going to try and get past the system that I believe is unfair. This isn't just for people coming in from other countries, but welfare members in Australia too. The other part that seems to rile up people is the 'give everyone a fair go' where as you mention they are flying them around the nation and doing things they won't for citizens of Australia, first example coming to my mind is the government refusing to do anything about the anniversary of Long Tan, while flying the refugees from sydney, queensland, christmas island etc. Giving them tours and spending money on other such things to try and please. Oh, and the daily shopping allowance. As for the proof on the drug testing, the final paragraph in the news article you posted reads as follows: 'In the meantime supporters of the law point out that the program may have deterred many drug users from taking the welfare drug test in the first place under the realization that they would have ultimately failed the test, thus pushing the 2.6% failure rate even higher and possibly making the program a financial success.'

Houses will never become affordable. Should look at the housing market in Darwin and then compare it to any other place. For the size and room available, a $400,000 house with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 car garage in Adelaide is about $1 mil here. Sad thing is I'm not even rounding up a bit. A tiny block of land around the corner from me is $450,000 and its pretty much undeveloped. I have to like Howard just for his views on the boats, what worked back then must be able to work now. No problem with helping people escape from places of need and integrate into society as a member of the workforce; but to live off of our system and hard earned money is not right. This also accounts for the welfare recipients indigenous or not. Bring on the drug testing for welfare! I have to be tested to work why shouldn't they!

WMMH: Working on a rolla again finally! Taken a bit longer to get everything in due to a lot of procastination. But still good :) Nice way to spend a holiday

Discussing with a mate he seems sure its on the 2nd of March. Is anyone able to confirm this?

JiP I think the only thing missing in your collection of photographs is the storage area of your drugs... Unless they are in that safe.

Turns out the battery I had was just a bit under powered :P Needed a minimum of 480 cca apparently, mine was around 440-460 :S

Yeah one of our mates is actually a nurse at the hospital too so we are trying to tee it up with her to 'supervise' us. The Darwin Car Scene is doing something good too, some people are already organizing a Cruise for kids theme at Christmas with the intention of every car having a gift for a child and we all drive somewhere to make the donation. Kind of like the bikies do but without the bikes, and bikies.

Hey when is All Japan Day 2013 going to be in Adelaide does anyone have a date? Already bought my soundwave ticket which is usually around the same time and getting my Clipsal ticket, want to make sure my holiday down south is timed in with AJD too! (Especially since I'm going to the effort of taking the Ghan down with my JZX :D) Any info would be awesome!

Statesmans are good mate, have a Supercharged VS Statesman at the parents house. Love how neat yours seems to be, only thing I would say it needs is some nice 18" rims!

WMMH: The housemate and I visited an autistic girl in our Sesame Street costumes because her mum kindly asked us too. It felt good to do something for someone else with nothing to gain on my behalf. Hopefully when the other mates get their costumes we will be hitting up the hospital for a day and pay some people a visit :) Edit* Forgot to mention the part where after the mum sent me a message with the address, I got a phonecall from the Darwin Police saying they found her phone in the city and if I knew who it was could I let them know the cops had it!.. So some good person had handed in a phone they found and not kept it, thats also a good thought I think.

Battery keeps killing itself in the JZX. Don't think it helps that its because the sulfuric acid keeps dissapearing.. So I crack the annoyance and chuck water in it to get the thing home. Mate is borrowing it while I'm away and doesn't want it dying on him so I'm getting a new battery..

Its legal for me to do that speed in some parts here too :P Love the old architecture there!!

Nah, people keep asking us if its really hot in them and it is after a couple hours! But the thing is, you have to sacrifice some things sometimes when its THAT much fun :P Just means in the wet we will have to keep more hydrated :P
