  2. Whats up, Its been ages since ive updated this so though I might put a few recent pics up and a quick little catch up blurb. Also me and my mates started a facebook page for Acacia Customs so check it out, like it and watch it unfold hahahaha http://www.facebook....ustomsSpeedShop Have been driving the shit out of RAT040!!! pretty much daily driven to work and back and anywhere i need to go unless the B1800 ute is needed. Have now fully patina'd the whole car,added some web pin striping, some more acacia customs stickers and added sounds. Made new glove box from old number plates to house head unit, 2 6x9s in parcel tray and 6" in the dash and tweeters there also. Been through a few sets of tires and now have fresh white and red wall tyres. Still running 13" standards. Car is mod plated removed lowering blocks and had new leafs made with tramp bars. RAT040 is coming out of rego end of this month and I have plans to carry out some pretty extreme modifications and add some more rad shit. Been thinking what I can do to improve handling which isnt going to cost to much and hasnt been done before. Also interior upgrade and definitely staying rat rod style, all going well RAT040 will be something completely different from anything done before and should be able to get it back on the road pretty quickly. Interior: 4 x bomber style seats with 50 cal ammo boxes between seats for drink holders/armrests/storage. Ive searched and search to find bomber seats forsale which they arnt in Aus and if they are they are super pricey. So i have made my own seats, They are profile cut from 3mm ally then folded and a small amount of tigweld to stick the seat base corners together. sides are sections riveted together with plennty of rivets, brass ones to add radness. I have all 4 seats but only one fully together but with only a couple rivets so i could see final product. Currently have drilled all holes and just need to assembly them all and get railts to mount them. Roof is going to get chopped off and lowered a couple inches and welded back on. Jaguar independent rear suspension and cradle going in. Customer front suspension set up, still unsure what way to go, possibly chop complete front off and make tube frame front and weld front gaurds, bonnet, grill section all together and make it a flip front!!!!! I'm thinking this is the way to go. Also line lock kit will be fitted and other cool shit!!! Also will be rebuilding engine and giving a massive port job, upgrading gearbox to FC series 5 RX7 turbo box. Few pics of RAT040 @ Greazefest and other newer pics
  3. Quick update on some new changes to car. Scored some Mitsi 15" steelies with 195/55/15 tyres for $100. Might look at some 195/50/15 or even 195/45/15 tyres Have painted one set gloss red and will get whitewalls laid on them and keep one set black for skid rims, couldnt be farked masking them out so i just used grease to cover the tyres and painted then just wipe the grease off and its all good. Rears fit fine just a small adjustment to handbrake cable so it clears the inside of the rim. Fronts foul on upper suspension arm so will need about 8mm spacers but may just keep it 13" front and 15" rears bit more ratrod/hotrod style. Also made up fuel pump and filter mounting in the boot out of one of my snapped skate decks!!!

  8. Up date, Conversion is finished and RAT040 is rolling with the 13B humming and not missing a beat!!! put in a long night in the shed last night to pull it all together Got it running this morning and took it for a 150Km drive and no issues at all not even a leak!!! Yussssss
  9. Whats up quick update, Been getting a fair bit done lately hopefully have it running this weekend. Transmission tunnel all done. Engine mounts all done Oil pick up for reverse sump done Extractors heat wrapped Got all bits needed to make exhaust system new fittings for fuel system. Made RATROD spec gear shifter. Drive shaft being built as we speak will be ready before weekend. Just need to put it all together in the next few days so can take it for a cruise to ALL JAP DAY.
  10. up date from the weekends missions, Gearbox cross member done, notched out engine cross member, fabricated new transmission tunnel and spot welded in, made engine mounts which still need to be fine tuned and welded to front cross member also fitted gilmer drives. gearbox crossy ended up being simple as = 75mm X 50mm angle iron with a notch for extractors and it bolted straight into factory cross member position notched front cross member trans tunnel fab engine mount just had mock up mounts in to get position correct, the above mounts will be cut to suit and welded onto front cross member

  12. up date time, Got the engine sitting where I want it, ended up reversing the sump so now need to fab up new oil pick up, gearbox crossmember and make engine mount brackets. Modified the extractors that cam with the engine and they are fitting nice and snug just need to heat/exhaust wrap them and make some heat shields for steering box. I may make a complete heat shield that runs down to the collector. Also going to have to make new brake lines so they don't run so close to extractors. reversed sump, redrilled bolt holes and welded up holes not required. . Also some pics of my large extend porting template from pineapple racing in USA which i am going to add bridge ports to on the secondary and auxiliary ports so ill have a extend quad Bridgeport - all ports large extend ported then conservative bridge porting on secondary and aux ports. No need to go massive on the bridge ports as it aint no race car and id like to get a few years out of it before its needs a rebuild Also just though id add in my 4 man beer funnel, his name is Pete the Penetrator and he knows how to get the party started Also A pic of me so you can put a face to this build, hahaha
  13. quick up date, Trans tunnel fully cut out and reversed the sump to give me clearance. To reverse sump I made a template of hole pattern then reversed it and drilled out new holes and welded up holes that are not required.

  15. Yea dude its all good. Well so far so good. Easy to use and seems to be hardwearing. I have used it before but not on cars ect, normally on handtools with the brush set up ect. I'm looking at scoring 2 gallons of it and painting the whole car, I don't know if you have seen the youtube videos of it in action? Also dipyourcar.com will give you a good grasp onit. Its pretty much vinyl wrap in a can. I going to get the gallons and some thinners and use normal spray gun to pain the whole car, if it goes all good ill probably be changing car colour 2 times a year. No prep needed except degrees/prep wash everything to be dipped. its pretty cool shit to use just like the youtube videos.
  16. whats up quick update, Got some deliveries of awesomeness for the car in the last few days. Hopefully have the engine mounted in the next few days and then fuel system, oil cooler and wiring!!! Engine hung as My new pineapple racing porting templates. Will be adding a bridgeport eyebrow to these templates when the rebuild of engine commences. oil cooler, fuel pump, regulator and inline filter chrome goodness Uploaded with ImageShack.us on another note I matte black my RX8 wheels and badges to match the body kit with a product called plastidip.   17. whats up, Up date time. So 18RG is gone and i know have the 13B at home and have started the fit out. So far I have rough fitted the engine and started on the cross member design ect. scored brand new RX3 front plate and new Mazda mounts I have ordered the new fuel pump and fuel lines, oil cooler, gauges ect to monitor this new beast. Have chopped the trans tunnel to make it fit will need to chop out complete tunnel and will roll a complete new one. After test fitting the engine either i need to modify the sump or cross member to bring the engine forward enough to get the gear stick in the right position. I could go over the cross member but the engine will sit to high and will look shite. So i will be notching the front RT40 cross member to allow the engine to come forward about 2 inches thus keeping it nice and low in the engine bay. Got 51mm IDA weber which should give it a nice throaty sound. Engine is a series 5 RX7 N/A 6 port motor. Once i have it in and running will save my pennies and strip it down and bridge port that bitch for some more performance.

  20. whats up, Another weekend and some more progress on RAT040 I scored a sun visor for the front which looks awesome so fitted that up and added a few personal touches to complete the rat look. After i fitted and test drove found it need some bracing as i didnt use the middle bracket which screws into the roof thus causing it to vibrate and flap a fair bit at highway speeds. So i used some bits in my shed and made a brace down to the window wiper panel and it looks pretty cool i think Then i added the skull to the top which is also cool as fluck I'm taking the beast to the Kustom karnival in brisbane at acacia ridge hotel this weekend hopefully get a good response again!!! Locker is in running fine no issues did about 250kms today city, highway and hill driving a couple drifts but no solid burnouts Just going to wait till i have something decent in there before popping some tires. Think i might make a jig and have a crack at shortening my own diff!! and get some axles made to suit. On another note the sign writing is on and looks awesome.
  22. Yea should be rad. Need to up the power tho. I'm thinking of pulling the 18rg and selling ti off and building a 13 bridgport for it. My original plan was for rotor but didnt have the coin at the time and 18Rg fell into my hands

  24. whats up dudes, So i blew the diff last weekend, new it would'nt last long as it is the standard rt40 piece of snot. So tonight I removed it and welded it up so now it will be locker!!!! hahaha yusss No sure how long it will last but will just have to wait and see Keeping my eyes out for a diff the will fit easily enough Anyone know of a bolt in diff set up that is a good upgrade? I know MK2 corona diffs bolt in but are hard to find. Also i hear alfa 105 will bolt in but also hard to find. Off to wreckers tomorrow to measure up and hopefully find something that will go in. See the destruction and diff locking procedure below. Diff locking = welding that bitch up
