  1. It has rear brakes as well as a hydraulic handbrake for drifting. It started out as a skid car and got out of hand. Heres a small vid on the way to another carshow at ferntree gully. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=5BjT2pzkqTA
  2. Just thought i would update the pics on this bad boy. It now sports a new engine, Grout filled 355 with teflon coated 6/71 out of a speed boat producing 650+ hp at the crank And new wheels, 18x7 front 20x10 back. It will be at winton motor raceway for the performance car mania in 4 weeks if ya wanna come check it out.
  3. Yeah it was on ebay, didn't have much interest though.
  4. Yeah Geelong. I got an axle, TE278U was kind enough to hook me up with one. Couldn't really be bothered driving to frankston for an axle.
  5. Good to know. It's a borgy then. I got an axle so it is all good now. Cheers, Eddie
  6. Are a ke30 and ke55 diff the same? I'm looking at a ke55 on sunday and may borrow an axle out of it if it will suit.
  7. Has someone got the number for harveys wreckers?. i'm looking for a drivers side axle for a ke 30, i've rang every where with no luck. Nevermind i found it, But still too far and costly for me to go get it.
  8. f@$king ticket scalpers!!!!! ;) Went to get tickets for Slipknot / Machine Head today, no floor tickets left (not that i was surprised). BUT!!, search on ebay and theres shitloads on there at a severely inflated price. Sorry for my language but i f@$king hate these c@#%s and they should be shot! ;) . I'm bleeding now that i didn't have the cash on friday to get them.
  9. Venetian, whitewalls and crown hubcaps ftw
  10. Hi, my names Eddie, been a member for ages just never got around to introducing myself. I own a 78 ke30 with a v6. I have owned heaps of other corollas and other toyotas, 7 ke20's, 1 ke10(twice), 1 ke35, 1 ke36, 2 ke30's including the one i've got. Getting rid of it soon, swapping for a hk ute rat rod (purely so i can make more money off it to get another rolla). Here's a few pics.
  11. I've got one. I have to say, as fun as it is to drive, theres a lot of work involved in getting to handle well and get it engineered. You will have it a bit easier being it is a 70 ( rack and pinion steering, recess in firewall ). Engine mounts arent that hard and if you use an auto you can mod the standard gearbox x member to suit (providing the car is auto to begin with). As rollla said though, buy a complete car if you plan to do it. Having said all this, if i could do it all over i would have put a turbo 4 in it.
  12. Any updates???
  13. Nevermind, all sorted, got one off an ae82. Sorry for wasting space with this thread.
  14. Hi guys, just completing the manual conversion on the ae71 and realised the starter wont bolt up  . Is this right or am i doing it wrong? how much difference is there between manual and auto ones? Cheers Eddie.
  15. Yeah i was gunna say that, works the same with diff centers.
  16. Thanks for your help guys, its in so is the flywheel and clutch, just gotta do the heavy bit now. The thing with that is i was gunna take the part of the exhaust off that crosses under the gearbox but one of the nuts stripped :) . So fun times ahead trying to manouver it over that and line up the input shaft.....
  17. Ok i got it in with a little persuasion but does it have to go all the way in to the back of the hole or just enough so the bearing is not poking out?.
  18. I might not have been clear enough, The car was auto, i'm converting it to manual and i have bought a brand new bearing to put in, i'm not using an old one. I was hoping to get the box in today but this bearing thing has set me back a bit. I will try lubing up the hole with grease or something and use a socket on it.
  19. Got what out for me?
  20. Hi all, i'm converting my ae71 to manual and have to put the spigot bearing in. I've never done this before so is the bearing meant to be a tight fit in the back of the crank?. On the box for the bearing it says 38x14. I got it from a bearing joint so it should be the right one and i've cleaned the hole it has to go in, but i can't get it in short of belting it in with a hammer. Any ideas? Cheers, Eddie.
  21. Jesus pat thats some serious damage!
  22. Drool!!!!!!
  23. I no longer drive it on the street, it's purely for skids. I'll keep it for a while and then sell it to put a 1uz in my crown (Gotta register it first).
  24. I probably neglected to say that i no longer (well for the moment anyway) have the need for gilmer belt drive as i sold my ke10 and my ke30 has a v6 in it. I also have an ms55 crown i'm planning to do up so for the time being i will not be looking further into this.
