  1. I give up... the glue let go as soon as I tried to do the bolt up :(
  2. Yes you can but I don't want to spend money on this car. Edit: Also the amount of money people want for these heads It'd cost the same to get a 1J or 2J conversion :P
  3. Thanks Luke, just going to get new tyres then on they go. They're in great condition! OK changing over the exterior passenger door handle today as the bolt had pulled out and the handle nearly falls out in your hand. Got the handle out of the donor car easy enough Then had drama's getting the bolt from the old handle out of Mumbleweed, the metal was bending before the bolt would turn :bash: Ended up using a hammer and chisel and nut cracker to try and loosen it then I could just get the multigrips onto the nut. Started to put the replacement handle in and the nut pulled out of that handle as well :bash: I've put a heap of loctite on the nut, hopefully that will hold... Just waiting for that to set then I'll put it all back together. It's soooo much harder working on a car that you don't want to damage the paint :P
  4. Nothing in the service history and I would like to think a mechanic wouldn't stuff up putting a sump gasket on. I've driven her a bit now and she's great to drive. I can get new cogs for the odometer so I'll see how hard it is to get to them and check if that's the problem.
  5. Great work as always :)
  6. Damn that thing looks sexy!! Love the wheels/tyres.
  7. The thing that I don't like about the sump gasket leaking is that it was hanging out a bit... why had the sump been taken off??!
  8. I was well aware of all this before I brought her ;) Needed something to be slow and fuel efficient. OK updates: It was the sump gasket leaking not the rear main... that just raises more questions to me :hmm: .... and the bastard had wound the odometer back and broken it doing so! :bash: He gave me the service history, the car went from 190 something thousand k's to now having 170 and not moving. :( At a guess I'd say she's got somewhere around 210-230 thousand k's... if she was a Toyota that wouldn't be an issue but for a beemer engine :hmm: Despite all this she drives well and I quite like having a sunroof :D
  9. And if that doesn't happen i'll take her.
  10. Fine by me... i'll steal the celica for the day :P
  11. I had a 1985 AE82 Corolla sedan. Being a born and bred holden man I hated the thing... drove it with almost no oil for a week, drove it so hard one time that it dumped all the water till it was bone dry... then drove her home  I cracked the head in 3 places and drove her for a year like that (top up the fuel and fill the oil ;) ). I never looked at a holden again!
  12. Count me in. Gotta show off the beemer!
  13. Nothing in the Toyota identification chart about a KE09... Google doesn't like it either :( Very interested to see how this goes.
  14. I tried the eb falcoon thing... it lasted a month with my driving  If you want something to slide I would recommend an early 80's Rona... and not doing it on the road. You said you had a Rona as a paddock basher, well I've found my 83 Rona has the best steering as far as being able to feel what the car is doing but still easily flick it around. Not much power but as with most Toyota's, she'll do what ever you make her do ;) And T18drifts, sounds like you've been listening :) Can't wait to watch you drifting down at Barbagallo!
  15. That's so wrong that I'm intrigued. Any chance of pics??
  16. ... so you didn't do a keybanger?? :P
  17. Tidy! You think I can make the E30 look like that?
  18. Great buy. We've got a car exactly the same for sale over here in WA... but they want $1k unregistered :( If It was registered and that price I would have brought it instead of the Beemer.
  19. Thanks guys. NO engine conversion in the works for this car, just tidy up and use as my daily. Might look at getting her some visual upgrades (angel eyes, clear or smoked indicators and parkers, new boot spoiler etc.) but nothing mechanical unless required. The 325e has a 2.7lt straight 6 (only 90kW but supposedly fuel efficient and emissions friendly), feels ok power wize but the diff feels like it couldn't handle it if I gave it stick.
  20. WTF?? I didn't catch any news.
  21. :D I'll add beer to that pizza!!
  22. Is the capacity multiplied by 2 because it's a rotary??
  23. :lolcry: I wish this had the KE10 in it!!
  24. Isn't that just another butt ugly T18??
  25. Link not working for me.
