I'm not gonna fiddle with the intricate wires on the rims, I'm gonna just spray the entire centre black and just try and polish the dish the best i can manage. i've never done anything like that myself, anyone with suggestions is welcomed, lol. I'm yet to find a place to do the carbs yet. Does anyone have anywhere they can suggest in sydney? I hope they come back like brand new too! And yes, i know your first on the list for the bonnet :lol: cheers!

Well, theres been a slight 'hiccup' with the wheels getting done, so i've decided to just add them to the list of things that i'll be doing MYSELF. by the way the yellow ke30 from the pics is virtually a parts car. if anyone has any requests and the part is on the car in a decent condition I'm sure we can sort something out? just shoot me a pm or say so here. cheers.   3. Update Time - Taking Carbies off to get them both completely reconditioned and cleaned. - Wheels are getting a revamp ;) will post pics of that soon hope you guys will like! Where are the comments Dammit! :lol:

I don't really want the KE55 standard one, i don't like that way it makes the gearstick seem like its coming out of the dash horizontaly, nnot sure if that made sense, but it does in my head haha. I just wanted like flatter type one thats simple but wont just have the gearstick coming out of the carpeted floor. Anyone!?
  5. Oh and its a 75 model ke30, I'm still deciding about whether or not to recondition those cheviots or not, i've got a place that can do it just still deciding, they've got a way better offset then my current wheels and fill the guards really well. thoughts on that?
  6. Yeah sure. Yeah it was the one that was on ebay, it came with all this in it, i've already changed the RS seats over, planning the bumpers to go on next, cos '30 bumpers are so much nice then '55 bumpers, I'm going to see what it looks like without bumpers on and see whether to even have bumpers on it. It should be all transplanted over and running within a month, with fingers crossed and everything going to plan (which it never, ever does.) Thanks

I used to have a ke55 one, but i didnt like the style that much, I want a more flat looking one, the ke55 slants down where it connects to the dash and i don't even have the bottom piece anymore. I wanted something thats similar looking to this one, ROLLA did it on his ke55, he said that it's from an integra, but he didnt say which one it was, and I'm also wondering if anyone knows any others that will fit.   9. Well i thought it was time to start up a project thread and let you all know what I'm upto and what my plans are. I Have 2 Ke's Sitting in my driveway, my old ke55 which i was running with the standard 4k and 4 speed combo, and decided to die on me one night, since that night, it has not been started or moved, it's been close to a year now. its got a near overrated interior, Its been resprayed a few years back before i got it, so its fair decent. The other is my KE30, which I've only had for 4 days or so, It's got a 5k engine with a 5 speed box behind it. its currently nopt running because it needs carbies reconditioned and fluids flushed and a few gaskets replaced, but when i have the spare time it'll be running, I'd say a couple of weeks. The KE55 is standard everything, diff, box, engine, springs, everything. The Ke30 has heavy duty lowered fronts, reset and lowered leafs in the rear, front swaybar, ke55 diff, hotwire? or similar wheels. full exhaust, extractors, dual 40mm side-draught webers in a linkage setup, electronic distributor, 10mm topgun custom made stainless steel leads, 3 core radiator. So far i've stolen the seats from the new one, iun my 55 they were aftermarket but just something standard and boring, the ones that i got with the ke30 were original RS 2000 front seats, they have a bit of bucket to them so i swapped them over. It looks tight inside now, it has brand new black carpet, retrimmed vinyl door-trimg, aftermarket steering wheel, original leather backseat, i love it. So the plan is to swap over the 5k and running gear including all the suspension exhaust etc, and put it into my ke55, then i'll be scraping the KE30 shell. As the title says, I'm looking for a centre console, to join to my existing dash that will have a gearboot and a tray etc, is there anyone that knows one that will fit, or any advice while I'm looking for one, I'm going to the wreckers today so its kinda urgent, hoping i can pick one up there?   12. haha sorry, i warned i was a noob. Alright well i have to wait and see what happens now, hopefully picking it up on sunday, it'll be a while before its running though, with carbies to reco, gaskets to replace and oils fluids and filters and the rest to be changed, but i can't wait :lolcry:

  14. haha thanks taz that did kinda help actually :lolcry: Another question, would anyone care to estimate about what kinda power output this would have? or what i'd expecting to be on par with speed wise? that isnt a huge concern to me, another thing, the guy said that the compression of the engine when he had it running was 190psi like 11:1 isn't that really high? Like i said my knowledge is quite minimal, thanks dfunkt and taz for replying, i appreciate it heaps.

I'm sorry to bump this, but I'm running out of time to decide, with the minimal technical knowledge that i have myself i need some advice from anyone that knows what they're talking about, is this deal worth it? I had a look on tuesday night but times running out and i need to let the guy know so i can put a deposit on it, thanks heaps to anyone that can help me out. nathan.

Thanks for the replies guys, my shell has next to no rust, none that i can find anyway? and the ke30 has minimal according to the guy (I'm not going to see it till tuesday night) how much would i be looking at per carby to get them through a rebuild? anyone got any idea? Another question, the engine is setup like this- Dual 40mm sidedraught webers electronic dizzy fully balanced duralite pistons extractors full exhaust over-sized radiator i think thats all plus it has heavy duty springs 14" hotwires and its a 5 speed I'm picking it up for around 1750, its in a ke30 at the moment and it comes with a spare 5k and 5 speed box. The carbies need rebuild and the engine needs a big service, like fluids flushed etc. Exhaust/inlet manifold gasket needs replacing, does this sound like a good deal? how do you reckon the engine should go?   17. I'm new here, so HEY there! :) Anyway, down to business. I should be picking up a ke30 with a 5k in it in the next few days, I'm tossing up whether to take it out and put it into my ke55 cause the shells a better colour and its my original car, but thats another story, what i need to ask is, the 5k has dual 40mm webbers fitted, but both are in need of service, does anyone know how much I'm looking at to get these serviced? is there anyone here with a 5k in a ke corolla? thanks guys!
