i had a great night meeting doug. always good to talk to the guys that have been doing the fiddly bits on these cars since they where new. thank you to adam, dave and frank for organising this.

this is the car i'm most excited about seeing tonight. :D she's come a long way from that auto 4k rental car car i found for you. gl with the tuning her up. if you still can't get it right, frank from the tcca club was talking to me last night about the place he got his 45's on his celica done. he said no one could get it right but he took it to this guy and for $200 he gave it the best tune it's ever had. new needles, clean out, all perfectly tuned on his dyno. i'd say it's well worth spending the money if you can't get it right by yourself.

hmm, can't miss the gp. will probably make an effort to come to the first meet to say hi and show my face but then it's home for an afternoon of couch sitting and gp watching.

nearly forgot about this. i think i'll be borrowing someone's car. not sure it's a good idea to drive to the city with a side pipe.

can't wait to hear what it's like with a full system.

haha. yes. they should have marked on them the direction of rotation. either stamped or a sticker. the idea is to blow cool air on the brakes as you drive. i reckon a white set on my white panno would be 80's-tastic. :P

don't worry about all the non car related stuff. i enjoy a good story. you'll be happy it's all documented when it's done. i just noticed you have me favourite wheels ever on the 82 in the striping down photos. those strange 6 spoked fin things are so period perfect for the car. i've been looking for a set in 4x114.3pcd for my van but can only find them in 4x100 and fwd offset. might just have to get myself a cheap ae82 from somewhere just so i can buy a set. :P

these came from factory with white walls on the upper spec models. you'd only be restoring it more. :P

it's 102557 miles. the last number is a fraction. so it comes out to just over 165000kms. still quite low for a 38 year old car. look after it.

just got my ke20 back and was all excited for this meet but remembered i'm going to be down at the historics. :( damn.

spotted that same ke20 from last week at the corner of south rd and east boundary road. i'm fairly sure he saw my ke20 this time. saw the wheels this time, had jelly beans with polished spokes and red painted centres.

noooooooo, look at all that wasted fuel! probably more money spilt on the ground than you would get in scrap for the shell.

just found a few pictures showing that somehow people are overcoming the rotation problems in their conversions.

haven't seen in any KE's but i have seen two put into ae86s. one in the US and one in NZ. both using s2000 gear.

looks like a te27 dash to me. as i say, not sure of it plugs in or what they are worth but i'd love on for my car.

which style is it? the ke20 SL's had a bar or slide tacho attached to the top of the dash pad in the middle. the only other one i know of are the te27 dash that change it from two bezels of the same size to a 3 bezel facia with two large and a smaller one in the middle. i'm unsure of what plugs in and what doesn't. maybe parrot/tally could shed some light on this.
