  1. i know i'm going to be yelled at for suggesting a commodore colour but this colour on the new ve's looks so good in the flesh. maybe for a ke10 i'd make it slightly darker to give it some depth.
  2. nah, had tafe in the afternoon so i didn't get time. will hopefully have it sorted tomorrow. the seals on the front looked fine, no moisture at all. i'll drop those spares back to you when i return your ramps.
  3. thats not true, they only drink warm beer because they all have lucas fridges. ;)
  4. looking good harvie, are you going to keep the cressida wheels. i like them on your car.
  5. ok, got them off. had it up on the ramps from pete and no amount of kicking, hitting with hammers or hitting with spare tyres worked. bugger. took it to a level back street near my place. wound the nuts out only about 5mm but left them all on. about 10 mins or driving in circles at about 15-20 didn't work. these bastards where stuck on tight. i eventually loosened them by driving round at 25kmh and jumping on the brakes as hard as i could. this popped them both off at the same time. i was smart enough to have a pair of my 12 with me so i didn't have to drive home with loose wheels. going to get busy with the file tonight. hopefully won't happen again. also, judging by the press marks on the rims, they where less than 1mm out.
  6. celica, one owner, has been in accident. repaired so good it looks just as it came out of the show room. colour matched too.
  7. hehe, i can see me some how missing and breaking a headlight/grill/windscreen.
  8. thanks for the responses guys. i think i'm going to try it with the wheels on lock facing out so that i can kick it from the front, this way minimizing the amount of me that is under the car and the amount of side to side movement. if that don't work i'm off to find a dead end street... near a hospital just in case.
  9. thanks from the responses guys. i know that the situation is not ideal but sometimes you just have to do it. this sounds like as good a time as ever to upgrade my brakes/stud pattern. i'll see what i can do over the weekend. might hit you up on that offer of the ramps if they can give me enough clearance pete, if not then we'll see how stable it is with adams stands. cheers.
  10. hey guys, i've got a fairly major problem on my hands. some time last week the brakes on my ke20 went really spongy. i looked at the fluid reservoir and it was almost empty. topped it up hoping that no iar had got in but alas it has. fixing the brakes isn't my problem, i can't get my front wheels off to bleed them. all the nuts come off fine but the hub ring is stuck on to my stub axle. i have soaked it in wd40, hit it, kicked it, hit it with a rubber mallet, yelled at it. nothing seems to want to move it. i even drove up and down the driveway with no nuts on hoping to loosen it. i haven't been hitting it too hard because i've only had it on the scissor jack and it didn't look to stable. is there a way for me to get it off without damaging the car/wheel/myself? cheers for any help guys and gals.
  11. spotted soyboy in her ke30 on malvern rd yesterday. you waved back but i'm not sure if you recognized me.
  12. i posted this up towards the end of last year in the ebay section. back then he had a 35,000 buy it now option.
  13. i'd be keen but the heater in my ke20 don't work too well.
  14. ke30. it's like cheese for bison.
  15. i'll see your ke70 on dirt and raise you a notch back trueno on tarmac.
  16. didn't see it from the front. only saw the back as it went past. had some kind of mag wheels on it.
  17. spotted an orange ke30 with on nepean highway inbound this afternoon. i was turning right at a set of lights as you passed so i couldn't get a good look.
  18. i've talked to the kelly motors guy and they are completely different companies. in the process of looking for a cheap daily i found out that they sell all there cars nor rego and no rwc. so all there cars are un-roadworthy, just some more than others.
  19. went down to the center road today and they have corollas everywhere. most of the good bits gone but still some good stuff. that red ke70 that adam saw was in fact a overrated 5spd one. gearbox is gone but there is a full pristine light brown interior. still had all it's paperwork/logbooks/ownersamnuals in there little plastic packet. pitty no one saved it. >| few ke55s. a ke36 with what looked to be a set of original hub caps in the boot. same style as on gavclassic's green one iirc. there was also a ke70 sitting on the ground in front of the ke36 with an aircon system in it. hope someone form here gets all these good bits. wouldn't want to see them crushed.
  20. hehe :no2:
  21. what kind of engine would you be wanting in it? if it's anything more than a warm k then forget the borgy. have a look at finding the rear diff out of one of those 4wd corolla wagon things (have forgotten the chassis code). apparently the rear diff is the thinnest T series diff that toyota make. i'd say get one of those and put custom mounts on it. that way it won't snap at the slightest whiff of power and you can get an lsd for it if you wanted. just my 2c
  22. ok, we are guessing that the engine is a 151E. why is the shell LHD? this either means the shell/car where either american or european delivered. why would the owner import a te27 back into japan unless this conversion was already done?
  23. i wouldn't want to be in either of these. V240 SA220 but yes, in the back of my mind i know my ke20 would probably do no better.
  24. hey guys. thought i'd share with the collective corolla community on this. no other information apart from these pics from a nagoya car show. dated 16/6/2001. from what i can see it is a 150E/3K-R what ever you want to call it in a te27/ke25 shell. can anyone shed any information or any more pics of this beast? do with think it was a factory or a custom job? experimental race car? the plot thickens! i was just re-looking over the pics and it appreas to be a LHD car. hmmmmmmmm :P
  25. i'll let you know when the time comes what i'll be doing. still trying to work out what i'm doing with the crown atm. my rear one is a whiteline but from what i have heard they no longer make ones for the rear, only the front. i got mine secondhand, unused from ebay.
