If it is decided that the car is going to be sold, it would be $250 including trailer. The guy just wants to get back what he paid for the car and trailer. Its a KE20 already set up for club competition in Ballarat. You would need a tow car because it can not be registered any more without a shit load of work. See it at corolla pics

at $40,000 plus in parts alone (no labour included) it was decided to right the truck off. Some of the parts that needed replacing: - gearbox (obviously) - front tailshaft - rear tailshaft - engine block - flywheel/clutch - chassis rail - various fuel/liquid lines - etc, etc

My first Rolla cost me a slab - for red with a couple of different pearls through it. The club car was the same price - again for a custom mixed colour in 2 pak. Gotta love mates rates :)

My old man runs a workshop for the CFA in VIC and some of the stories he tells are incredible. Eg. after a truck gearbox let go they sent a group of people out to collect shrapnel from peoples front lawns and had to pick it out of a wall of a funeral home ........ the inside wall. The pieces made it through the front window and embeded in the back wall of the chapel :) or the guy who managed to twist the truck so much that the batteries shorted out on the body of the truck.......

Thanks guys. Next few rounds of the VMC are still at Somerton on July the 17th and August 7th. May not make it to either of these rounds (or any for the rest of the year) due to me becoming a father in a couple of months. Will let you know what is happening later. There are possibly two rounds in September, Ballarat on the 11th (??????) and Werribee on the 25th for those who are interested.

Finally got the results today and it was a Corolla 1-2 in class C with me in 2nd place (missed out by 5 sec) to Brians KE25. We also finished 9th and 12 outright respectively as well. We were over a minute ahead of third place by the way :P

Quick easy fix, just bash the relay with an end of a screwdriver to see if it is just sticking. If nothing happens then look somewhere else.

can't remember my KE35 being up so high with 4.3 gears. Something around the low threes was around the mark with 225/60/13 tyres in 5th gear

I'd be checking your speedi accuracy. 3500 seems high in 5th. Or do some calculations as to how many revs you should be pulling at 100km/h. Need to check up on how to but it is not that hard

Wd40 will take tar of your paint so I think it would help if it was oil. Hell its not like you don't have any lying around.

It's just that I've used WD40 to quiet down noisey belts in the past. Is there any water getting on to the belts? (Obviously after a skid pan session there would be). I've noticed that if my belts have water on them then they make a squeaking noise.

Its still going, but now its being trailered to events. Its getting pampered in its old age. And yep he is as quick as he has always been. It was a small field all round. Shitty weather kept people away. Think I saw a brass monkey looking for a welder.............

Damn I'm crap at this, can't get under 14 sec. Must be old age or something that ruins the reflexes :) Kids I teach were getting close to 11 sec (12.1 was the quickest)

If you watch the old Bathurst footage from the late 60's to the mid to late 70's you will see a few Corollas getting around

Just glad Redrwf didn't show he would have really kicked some arse. (and stuffed up my chances for a class win which I think I might have pulled off even though I hit two flags :) )
