  1. Giving everything a quick degrease and a clean doesn't mean having to show up with a "granny car". I'll use my old KE35 as an example. In addition to the mentioned twin carbs and extractors, it was also lowered, had as much rubber stuffed under the guards as would legally fit, mags and a custom paint job - hardly granny spec. Also as i tried to keep it looking neat and clean, I never had a problem with police roadside inspections. They generally will not look that close if it appears looked after. The same goes for motorsport scruitineers. A quick spray of carby clean just before scruitineering saved me a lot of hassles
  2. didn't seem to fussed about the twin carbies and extractors on mine. But if it looks like a box of shit they will hassle you. So clean up those oil leaks........
  3. don't stress about it. Just tell them that you are changing the engine number. Chances are the nuff nuff behind the counter wont be able to tell the difference  At least I got away with it...........
  4. Why not just swap the KE70 brakes onto you KE30 struts. Its a simple swap if all you want are the brakes.
  5. Deep sockets are great for getting onto those nuts that have a big arse peice of thread hanging out of them  Personally, I have a number of repco tool kits (first one is 14 years old) and have had no problems with them. My old man who was an mechanic always used to grab my tool kit and use it instead of his sidchrome tools.
  6. "I could buy it........and you could store it for me. Deal? " Uh, would love to but...........Have the entire schools outdoor ed. gear stored in my shed atm. so my rolla is outside in the rain (YES IT HAS RAINED!!!!!!!!! ) Tell you what Kanga - you buy it and I'll drop my running gear into it and use it :)
  7. or pull out the cable from the back of the speedo and spray some wd40 or put a dob of grease on the end of the cable.
  8. hey thats just only half an hour from me!! Shame the missus would shoot me if I got another one. If it was a 20 though
  9. people wait at the newsagents for it to arrive at at sparrows fart to get the jump on everyone else.
  10. my '75 didn't even have the clock, just a plastic plug where the clock was meant to be - easy decision to put the tacho there.
  11. throw the clock and fit a tacho in the hole. You know you want to
  12. with 1200cc's of throbbing power - not much on a dry road :y:
  13. Top stuff. Also David Lee Roth Skyscrapper album (Van Halens lead singer for a while)
  14. trust me they will fit :jamie:
  15. I know that VK sedan are an inch or so too long, but apparently wagon ones are shorter. Monaro shocks fit for sure cause I ran a set of air adjustable ones from my old mans munro in my KE35.
  16. Ok, I'll keep quiet then :jamie:
  17. when fuel was decent (leaded) around 12-14 deg btdc. don't know if this is still possible with unleaded.
  18. Should be able to still buy new sleeves, or at least seals as a last resort. Some people say that you can gently tap the lip back into shape with a hammer but I have never done this, silastic or Wurth (gotta plug the sponsors :jamie: ) gassket goo did the job on mine.
  19. Is now a bad time to admit to scrapping a couple of '25's with good doors.....................
  20. bigger exhaust, ignition timing advanced, cold air intake (or drill more holes in the base of the air cleaner). For chaep rear shocks, use early commodore wagon as these will fit if I remember correctly. HK/T/G Monaro will for sure in a KE35
  21. That diagram was from the KE2? manual which I have two different versions. Also have a KE3? one as well. All 3 list 3k-b carbies. I think my manuals are pre production ones as they have not for official use printed on the covers. Got them for $20 from a swap meet.
  22. hope these pics help. Remember that this is a made up system as I was only given a manifold and I hade to stuff around to make it work with spares I had laying around. this is the only pic in my parts manuals that sorta shows the linkage hope it helps (sorry about the quality)
  23. can't help, mine doesn't appear to have an id plate!!!!!!!!!
  24. or toss the KE1? carbies and bold on the KE3? type like I did. Also gives bigger secondary venturies :jamie: May have to mix and match linkages though from memory early ones connect top the carby via ball and socket conections and later ones don't
  25. Ta Kangaroosa, beat me to it. Will get a close up if you need it.
