  1. Me thinks you might be trying too hard ;) My 35 used to spin up the inside rear on tight roundabouts but it was only unweighted, not off the ground and only because the rear suspension was too stiff to run without an LSD. This is roughly how much roll I get from my 20 on basically standard suspension, and I am going pretty hard at this point.
  2. My 35 would ice up in summer!!!!!! until I refitted the hot air pick up. It hated constant throttle highway cruising. If its doing it from the word go, I'd check points and maybe the carby solenoid to see if its working.
  3. Even with a standard rolla, oversteer is just a grab of the handbrake away ;) Geting up on two wheels!!!!!!!! I've driven rollas pretty hard on the road and in competition and I've NEVER had one or seen one on two wheels. Are you just getting heaps of body roll????? Actually I lie - with cut down V8 holden springs i ran at one stage, bumps would lift both front wheels off the ground :bash:
  4. My 35 was bright red tinter with a couple of different pearls in it.
  5. KE20 Weight - lighter than stock Power - more than standard ;)
  6. grab a suitable length of bar, insert through the front of the hub until it sits on the rear bearing, then wack with a hammer. keep moving to different spots so it comes out evenly.
  7. When I was working as a despatcher, I found it was a lot better using private freighters for odd shaped loads as they were more willing and generally cheaper. Star Track wouldn't want to know you if you didn't have an account with them (but this was a number of years ago).
  8. Ditto - usually end up as metal shavings in the bottom of the housing. Last one the biggest piece i found was less than a third of a gear. We have never plated ours, but we weld the pinion gears to each other and the diff carrier as well. This gives more weld area. We also use stainless rods to do the welds.
  9. so tell us what you really think........:sob:
  10. Also look at having a few spare centres on hand for when one goes bang. I average one every 2 years in my club car that is only driven once a month.
  11. For a KE20 you have to relocate a couple of wires in the plug. Don't know if a KE10 is the same.
  12. Should be a drain plug on the bottom of the box somewhere. To fill, ive just whipped out the shifter and poored it in that hole. can't remember if its the speedo cable hole or another hole in the RHS of the box you fill until the oil comes out of it. Obviously you need to put the speedo/bolt back in :sob:
  13. Bit out of surfers, but there is the Holden Performance Driving centre for some hot laps. Great experience hooning in a car with someone who nows what they are doing :D or for a bit of driving yourself, try the WRX experience. BRILLIANT!!!!!!
  14. New bits are hard to find apparently and expensive. Assessor approved to repair, which has come to $5000 in parts, not including radiator or air con condensor.
  15. chrome in a can for a cheap arse job??????? Can get almost anything electroplated if you have the money.
  16. MMMM, wet road, running late, little sleep for the past weeks = this Luckily, she was only doing "20 - 30km/h" at the time. Hate to see what would happen if it was at 100km/h.
  17. What me rev a motor that hard - never ;) They were only driven on Sundays by little old ladies........Honest One may have been exercised that hard - purely for research and referance purposes only of course.
  18. Some cars the tailshaft has to be installed in the right position to remain balanced - don't know about rollas though. Take it out, rotate it 90deg angd reinstal it maybe.
  19. How high do you want to go. Mine have seen 8000rpm. As you can hear, they have no probs at high revs - this test wasn't big enough to get really serious either :) Its nothing for the shift light, set at 7500rpm, to be lit for an entire run. The previous tacho would sit on the stop which was at 8000rpm. Solids in my 3k after a big rev were always out of adjustment anyway. So there was never an advantage. The maintenance side sucked. IMHO a lot of other issues are blamed on the lifters . Now I'll just wait to be yelled at
  20. If any one is interested, i have 4 3k's that you can have if you waqnt to dtrive to Ballarat. Two were running when removed (one was a sweet little engine).
  21. Many years ago, there used to be a black Sigma GSR floating around Ballarat. Had $6000 in parts alone thrown at the motor and none of the v8 boys would touch it. One of the few cars Ive been in that would sink me into the seat in 3rd gear (including worked GT's, Brock commodores, monaros etc). I think it ended up wrapped around a tree at a hill climb
  22. Is there any reason you need to change the lifters????? I've never had any problems with 5K hydrolic lifters in any of the motors Ive had.
  23. Nah, last for ages after a bit of a lube
  24. That steering wheel is identical to the one that was on my KE35
  25. Looks like you need to by that white rolla near Castlemaine....
