  1. As said, ports are bigger, same size as a big port 3k head. I always ran std 3k carbies on a 3k-b manifold with no issues. Linkages may or may link up depending whether you have an early or late set up. Early set up has ball and cup connectors between the linkage and carby and later ones had a screw type fitting (I think). Had to cut and shut the carby connections to get the early type ball fittings to suit my twin linkages on my first set of 3k-b's. The second set I had didnt come with linkages so I had to make my own set up using old fuel line :jamie:
  2. Ditto. Give someone attitude and you are going to get it back. Doesnt matter what it is.
  3. With the 3" droopy and race stickers all over my old KE20 club car, I used to be asked if it was a rotary all the time even without starting it ;) Had one 5k that would rock the whole car at idle. That used to get some looks on a Saturday night sitting at the lights. Not many takers when they spotted that and the 225's under the rear of a KE35. Poeple actually thought the car was a Mazda. Funny thing was that it was running a stock cam!!!!!! but about as high as compression as you could go on pump fuel at the time (back in the leaded fuel days).
  4. Based on the average Maccas workers that I have seen - yes they would spell fries "fires"
  5. ^^^^^^^ Have to agree. Look sexy when not on the car but on the car they just don't rock my boat. But who cares abut my or any one elses opinion, they are your wheels, its your car and if it what you want then go for it.
  6. Pfft. My standard valve springed 5k with hydraulic lifters would pull 8000+rpm (ran out of tacho) with a hell of a lot less stuffing around.
  7. Happened to one of my boxes - the pin that held the part of the selector that the gear stick slotted into to the shift rail failed leaving me stuck in second.
  8. Just make it solid then - why bother with suspension :)
  9. They were always s330 and s340. Think it referred to the tread pattern.
  10. Hey, I was one of those old hoons :) !!!!!!!! Were one of the few tyres available in 225/60/13 which I was running on the rear of my 35. Cost $140ish each 12 years ago. Back in the day, could buy special tyre lettering pens to do the letters or you could get the brush and white house paint out :(
  11. hate it when they don't cooperate. try taking a picture of a group of 7 kids 10 to newborn without throwing the camera!
  12. heres a link to some pics of my last rolla. The 3rd pic down shows the rear leaves. clicky clicky
  13. If you are having trouble finding Corolla shocks, HK Monaro rear shocks and Commodore wagon rear shocks are a direct replacement for KE35s
  14. Why - do you like single spinning to a standstill any time you go near a corner???????
  15. Motorkhana'd a KE20 for years with a welded std diff and std axles and never broke an axle and only killed two centres in over 6 years of abuse. If you can stop axle tramp the stock diff will survive modded 5k's ok.
  16. I did that with my 20. Actually removed the 2 shortest leaves from the pack. The softer rear suited my driving style. Had a 35 with standard leaves and a 55 rear bar and felt it was too stiff.
  17. the two sets of factory twins I have had were set up with nothing more than a screw driver and a piece of hose. Both were on modded 5k's and the first set I had made the engine (stock cammed, big comp 5k) idle smoother.
  18. personally, I'd go with the sprinter carbs for that old school period look. Also it is so cool telling the cops that "no sir, its all factory" :P
  19. I remember Fast Fours, back in the days it was actually worth reading, tested this with a flow bench. Yes the full bellmouths flowed the best, but the ones that have the big flare were not that far behind and are a lot easier to make. If you are worried about the 2.5mm gap, grab some of that metal mend stuff and bog it up :P
  20. your forgiven :no2:
  21. could dig up a 3k-b manifold and run twin adaptors......
  22. You need to change the actual drum as the bolt pattern is different and the early ones will not go on the studs :no2: I have a feeling that KE55 drum may be larger than KE2* & KE3* so will need to use the matching backing plates as well, but it has been a long time since I did this conversion.
  23. You can put 55 axles into a 25 housing as long as its jap/jap or bw/bw. Can not mix jap and bw bits :no2:
  24. Ran a Wade grind in my 5k. 169 from memory, but it is recommended that twin carbies are used and a decent exhaust as well. Might be a little over the top in a stocker 3/4k. Best to ring them and some of the others that exist as I know that Wade do not list all possible grinds on the web site. My grind was listed under Triumph of all things!
  25. Do the above. All you need to do is to get the axles shortened a few mm. don't need to do this but it is much nicer to the diff if you do.
