  1. ......used to use the dirt to hide a few things I didn't want the scruitineers to see :jamie:
  2. Mine used to fall off all the time :jamie: A bit loud delivering pizzas though - but the hot floor used to keed them nice and hot though :no2:
  3. count me in :no2:
  4. I wouldn't be impressed :no2: and I'd be looking for another exhaust shop..........
  5. dunno bout changing the diff but it is your call. Doubt if you would break a borgy behind a warm 5k - unless you are an absolute nuff nuff. Ran a worked 5k (big compression/carbs/exhaust turning 225/13's) in front of a borgy for years with no issues. I think if you should grab some later borgy axles and see if they fit. I've got a feling that the same process applies to the borgy diff - shorten a few mm and bang them in
  6. mmmmmm, wonder if the officials would complain if I rocked up to the start line with the four kiddies strapped in to their seats as well. They are held in place with four point harnesses.........
  7. Wouldn't bother with a rear roll bar unless you want to single spin while you try to accelerate out of corners....... If you change to a Borgy, you will need a check the tailshaft as some have diffetent bolt spacing at the diff flange. Again from memery, the spring packs are the same. By the way, I have found that the jap diffs are stronger and have more ratios available.
  8. But a lot more relevant to you and me than todays bullshit they call "touring cars". It was a true comparision between makes and models. Right up to the end of Group C (1984) the racers still had to run with the majority of the interiors in place and a large number of standard components.
  9. Glazed pads/discs/linings???? Rough everything up with some emery paper or something similar and see if this helps.
  10. Think it used to be displayed at the museum at Bathurst. Yeh kiddies, back in the day, Bathurst racers were meant to be showroom stock, although there seemed to be some interesting interpretations of "stock".........
  11. Low fluid level? Broken stop light?
  12. Its only 7 hours away.........
  13. Its nothing like it used to be when it first fired up though, but still worth a look. Its where I picked up my first set of 3kb carbs for $25 :P
  14. I have heard that the Challenge of Clubs in on the 6th - 7th of March (long weekend). It was cancelled last year due to the weather. Contact the Ballarat Light Car Club for details I guess as I have been away from them for a fair while now.
  15. In Maryborough yesterday, there was a metallic blue KE30 sporting the plates ROLLIN.
  16. Now there is an event I'd like to see. Wouldn't be as fun as filing it with kids though....... :hmm:
  17. Mustn't of been going that fast then.....:hmm:
  18. Don't know if anyone has seen this but it seems like a good weekend away. cams carnival Copied from the CAMS website. Major National motoring event for Echuca-Moama! A major national motoring event for all car enthusiasts has been announced that ultimately will draw up to 5,000 vehicles and their owners from around Australia to Echuca-Moama. CARnival, which is being organised by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) will be held annually with the first event staged over the NSW Labor Day ‘long weekend’ on October 1-4. The event will be the first national car club gathering ever staged in Australia and is fully supported by Tourism Victoria and the Shires of Campaspe and Murray. CARnival has been designed to appeal to all motoring enthusiasts, regardless of the make, model, or age of their vehicle and irrespective of whether their interest lies in passive or competitive motoring activities. Commencing Friday October 1, the unique format will allow clubs to select from a broad menu to tailor their own ‘National’ meeting from a range of static and active events. These include: The Shannons CARshine – a huge central car show on the banks of the Murray where up to 2,000 vehicles will be grouped by marque and models More than 20 different club-level competition events, including motorkhanas, auto tests, speed events, a rallysprint and an off-road event, on sealed and unsealed surfaces A twilight navigation test and a fuel economy run – both on public roads Fun motoring events for families A major automobilia and garagenalia swap meet A motoring and motorsport film, photo and art festival A highlight for visitors will be the timed and demonstration events for club cars. A closed street course through the Echuca CBD is also being considered by the organisers which if established would create another fantastic spectacle for this event. There will also be an exciting wheel change competition for leading endurance racing teams making a pit-stop in Echuca-Moama over the weekend. The CEO of CAMS, Graham Fountain, said CARnival was an initiative designed for the enjoyment of all motoring enthusiasts. “This event celebrates grass roots motoring and motor sport in a way that has never been done before,” he said. “It is designed to put the fun back into vehicle ownership and use.” For further information and publication-size photographs please contact:
  19. Think early Commodore wagons will fit. If they do early Monaro (HK,HT,HG) will too.
  20. Towed for years using a ratchet tiedown - the ones used to hold down loads on trucks - at the front and a one of those looped over the diff and attatched to the back of the trailer. Process was to drive car up onto trailer, loop tiedown over diff, roll car forward, fit front tiedown. Tension up front tiedown and the car never moved. Leaving in gear isn't a bad idea either. NEVER trust any winch, especially on a hire trailer.
  21. Tunnel of Love - wasn't that where a guy with a trumpet would play the last post to every car that crashed there?
  22. bog is your friend :)
  23. Simplicity and originality for one. "No officer, its all factory original" used to get some strange looks from the cops.
  24. Ahh the memories - you just described my first rolla :fuzz:
  25. Off the top of my head, the front panels are different - slightly longer.
