  1. With a locker it was the only way to steer ;)
  2. Yeah, a WD will take you right out of contention. Only 4 flags, hit more than that in one test....
  3. What Red said - well worth the effort to do it, even in a stock 3k ke20...
  4. Soft kickn........
  5. used to use similar stuff in the textile industry years ago. The fabric would fail before the glue. Strong as, but you were stuffed once it got on your hands/clothes... Thanks for the suggestions guys. Will be looking into it soon.
  6. Seriously, the trike has been designed to corner hard and the wheels are the weakest point. Inexperienced riders don't help either. 60kmh and full lock is not a good combination.
  7. A fat arse 64kg hybrid trike using wheels designed for a 30kg odd human powered trike.......
  8. ouch!!! Nice motorkhaha sticker btw. Didn't know they still sold them
  9. Not in a 16" (349mm dia) wheel :( with a drum brake hub. Looking at a minimum spend of $200 per wheel to go from 32 spokes to 36 spoke hubs and rims which may or may not fix the problem I have.....
  10. Red - sounds like the stuff. can't sneek some down here can you ;) Altezza, does No More Nails stick alloys?????????
  11. mmmmmmm, Lotus must know nuthin then. The Elise is held together by glue ;)
  12. G'day all, sorry for the crappy editing, the return key aint working in this post :( Anyway, I need some advice from any experts in structural adhesives. I am sick of replacing broken spokes in the front wheels of my racing trike and after shooting the breeze with a couple of guys over a few beers, it was suggested that I get a couple of aluminium cones made up and weld them to the hub and rim. Thinking of welding onto a alloy bike rim scares me - buckling/holes/etc - so I was thinking of bonding the cones to the rims. So I guess my question is, what would be a suitable adhesive for bonding alloy/aluminium given the application?
  13. Watching my sons playing basketball. Both are playing comp even though they are 3 or 4 years under the age cutoff.
  14. As someone with experience in racing trikes, that leaning idea is great. Now, how to build it into the next design..............
  15. Could get my 5K to do this under sustained, hard cornering. the forces would stop the oil draining back into the sump and all of a sudden you would get a great cloud of oil smoke and a misfire. Staighten up and it would go away :)
  16. send some of that rain down here you greedy Queenslanders.
  17. Again congrats on the effort and your results. With a few more events under your belt, look out the top 10 :)
  18. nah, on 13x6's
  19. 13x4.5 rings a bell but no idea off offset. Could get 225/60/13's under the rear with a lip roll.
  20. Hey don't knock the 5K. With the right mods in a '20 it can be within 3 seconds of a worked WRX at the Ballarat autocross track - 2km unsealed road. How much do you want to spend?????????? Cheap and nasty method for the rear would be to flip a leaf or add a couple of leaves upside down. This will lower the rear and stiffen it if that is your thing. I actually removed two leaves. Left the leaf pack almost flat and softened it up to help the car squat. There is a picture on this forum somewhere of my rear leaves.
  21. That brings back some memories - dust, dust and more dust. First thing on the to do list after an event was to clean the filters.
