He is talking about the grey plastic around the tail lights. Someone more informed that me might be able to give you a paint code. But you will have to do all the trims as a: they will all be faded so the colour wont match anyway b: there is a chance that they have been painted a different shade anyway in the history of the car. My suggestion is to paint them a colour you like unless you are chasing a perfect restoration. Mine were painted body colour on the rear and white on the front (along with the grill).

I have a 1.5l Festiva manual and with a little bit of work I think it would go alright. Just need to tweak the hand brake a bit.

Look a lot better with 185's on the front and 205 or 225's on the back ;)

My KE35 used to run a truck battery. Used to get them for nothing :)

It's been said before I think. Just compete against your self. Set yourself a challenge. Concentrate on a skill. Play with tyre pressures. Don't stress about others and the results will come. When I went from novice I ended up in class C, which was a huge class of RWD cars back in the day. Like over a dozen Corollas, a few Datsuns etc and I was the flog, but a bit of car development and setting small challenges and I improved.

Think the standard rim width all round was 4.5 inch.

Ke30's came with 155/?/13's as standard from memory. The more enlightened will provide more info

Used to swear by BP Corse Plus 25w50 back in the day (nearly a quarter of a century ago) if my 3k and 5k. Used Castrol RX Super in my race 5k with no issues either.

Mine had one to. IMO it was the best looking of the KExx grills

There is also another grill with a cross hatch/mesh pattern. Was fitted to jap built ke35's. Don't have a decent pic but google ke35 grill and you'll see it ;)

Ran an OBA "Bathurst" from memory. Not bad for a cheapish wheel - was fitted onto four cars over the years. Imo, don't go for a wood rim - can be slippery and have been frowned upon in certain racing classes.

Unfortunately this happens. After I left the TCCAV, I joined a club based in a town around an hour from Melbourne. This club seemed full of people you described to the point of using four or five different cars during the year to get max scores for the club drivers championship. The same group wouldn't allow a set running order in motorkhanas. They would wait until the very last minute before running the test to ensure they had a nice swept surface to run on. Motorkhana tests were modified so the likes of WRX's had more chances of winning, but I never got any allowances in the autocross events so my KE20 would be competitive outright.... none would run in the VMC...... Sort of got pissed off in the end and it helped me make the decision to pull the pin on competing. Have to say the I can't remember seeing this attitude in the TCCV.

Think the early ones were 2wd.
