  1. Finally got the catch can and air filter box in, Dad has done a spot on job welding them up, the same can't be said about my brackets :lolcry:, after the weekend they'll come back out and get a clean up more, but I'm stoked with how they look, fitting nice and snug around the overflow and washer bottles. I can't wait for Sunday, will hopefully have a video up of the motorkhana next week.
  2. Yeah mate, it will be its first shakedown. I'm hoping to get a bit of a tune done on it before the weekend. But it drives well as it is  Who knows though, you might even get the joy of seeing a 4A pop Sunday. :lolcry:
  3. The Motor Sports Club of Tasmania is holding a motorkhana at Symmons this Sunday coming. For the people that already have their cams licence and a club membership, it's a cheap event, $30 entry. If you're making big power and like being on the loud pedal, an extra pair of rear or front tyres (depending where your power is put out) would be a wise choice, as the surface can chew tyres up pretty quick. More details on the MSCT website. Link. Hope to see some of you guys there. Even if you can't run in the event, come watch!
  4. New video of it running.
  5. Cheers guys! Yeah hoping it will Simon, it's sounding strong as it is. Cleaned up the XR4's, one week soon I'll hopefully have rego back on this thing.
  6. I'm chasing some standard 4 link arms for a KE70/AE71 and also some standard caster arms. Cheers!
  7. Carbs have bigger jets in them now and the plenum was finished last week, once the airbox is done I'll be able to take it for a squirt.
  8. Getting hooked up with some 15x7.5 long champs. Not sure if I prefer the rewinds or the XR4s. Also a picture of the engine in its current state, I'll post up a daylight video of it running, really happy with how it's going so far, once we've finished the air filter box and the rest of the intake, we can fit some bigger jets, get it tuned and it should be running miiiiiint.
  9. Nothing worth perving on mate :P Might take you for a run in it once it's done, that is if it ever sees the road again.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgw46EGVmNg First run, need to sort the timing out, chuck in the factory pro needles and jets and get it tuned!
  11. Tried to get it running today, no dice. Haven't got any spark, I'm not sure if the ignition module is a dud or if my coil has packed it in. Had to abandon working on it to get to work, will test the coil tomorrow. Update: Scratch that. Ignition module is fried. Ffffffffff....
  12. Thanks mate, the credit for the manifold goes to my old man, I should really post a picture on how it looks inside the runners before I bolt it up to the motor. It was a big task getting it onto the bigport head while keeping the flow smooth. Can't wait to get back onto the track. It has been close to 2 years now.
  13. Cheers dude! I've modified the accel cable to fit the carbs. Really wish I could get a bigger wheel on the throttle linkage. As it is I'll have 25mm of cable between zero and full throttle. The pedal has 75mm worth of travel in it. Has anyone changed the pivot point of the pedal in a KE before? I'm thinking I might adjust the cable so the pedal is as close to the wall at w.o.t as possible, maybe add a stop under the pedal to avoid stretching the accel cable. After picking up a few bolts to bolt the manifold on I'll give it a run. I might even try and post a video. It will be interesting to see how this Hyperpak module goes as well!
  14. Getting closer...
  15. Are your rewinds 15's? I've had a few people asking me if I've had my KE back on the road, or sold it, this would probably be the car they've been seeing =P Any pictures of it dude? Sounds like a overrated setup!
  16. Well, nearly a year has passed and not much else has happened to this poor thing, currently in the process of fitting some R1 carbs to the 4AG, I will update this thread with some pictures next week. Manifold is about 90% complete, needs a couple of vacuum fittings. Started work on the plenum and ram air intake. Interested to see how it performs compared to my mate's 20 valve sprinter, even before I fit new cams.
  17. Car was found by the police at Newnham BP, the spineless pricks that stole it did the bolt. Still, if anyone knows anything let Daim or myself know.
  18. Tonight Daim's panelvan has been stolen, last seen in Ravenswood. for those who don't know what it looks like http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/s...n-AE71-Panelvan Any information on it phone Daim on **** *** *** Obviously if anything like some 14x9 watanabes come up of for sale also call Daim or contact me on here.
  19. Ideal! Yeah we should definitely get him out there too. I'm interested in seeing what sort of lap time that can clock.
  20. Cheers! overrated offer, I'll let you know Simon. I should really be spending money on the KE instead of spending money on thrashing a mates car. :jamie: Looks like there is a Club sprint day in May, you bring the turbo bus to that Simon, so you can slaughter my 4AG pos. :D
  21. Daaaaamnit. KE is still not going... can't even borrow my mates 32 again due to its lack of second gear! Anyone keen to sponsor me a car for the day? =P
  22. I'm thinking of going for a look Sunday as well. Unless someone has a spare Eaton M90, then I might enter the Crown. :)
