  1. its got the wrong bumpers for that model. its not a DX thats a SE model - check out the rev counter dash (dx,s don't have rev counters & its the right rev counter dash for a se of this model)
  2. spigot bearing maybe sized
  3. my bro bored a 4k out to 5k (80.5) so it can be done. BUT you need the right block its a commercial block with siemze bores. if its a ke70 put a 5k in it - i know qld transport have in there book something saying" if the car was factory fitted with that engine you don't need a mod plate" ke70's were fitted with 5k's in japan. i don't know about the rest of the country but could be the same.
  4. sorry bit hard to explain - not the column but the part between the column & the rack, half way down that peice theres a rubber boot, thats where it should slide, but after 20yrs they can be hard to get to move. (you still have to change to the ae71 column) hope we are talking about the same thing here.
  5. i see your problem! just below your thumb where the shaft gets large is what they call a crash tube (stops the steering column coming at ya in a big crash) you need to pull the in shaft up untill it fits in the hole. i have this type in my car (80 ke70) & have been there done that - it will fit
  6. answer = Yes + if its out of a early T18/celica & needs T to K bellhousing
  7. yes fits all 3 motors, but the is changes to the mains in the 4k & 5k (groove in the bearing only going 1/2 way round on some) but sizes the same
  8. Check out the rest of Mike's site, he's got a kp61 rally car fitted with a 5K uprite, some really good pic's of the engine build.
  9. yes. have been there done that. cut your old T18 engine mounts off the x member & weld them to a ke70 x member (this is what we did for a 3T into a ke70)
  10. 3k & 4k lifters are the wrong size, what you what is the 5k or 3f landcruiser lifters (same part no,s) also holden red (202 etc) or small block chev will fit, ok if your not running high lift cams. with soild lifters you can use the 4k push rods if you have the 5k flat top piston head, with the dished piston head toyota do make a push rod (4k) but you have to buy them new. also my epc covers supercedes, its probaly a part number they pulled out of microcat - australia only listing
  11. 13781-13081 is the most common one for 5k's with hyl lifters. my epc dosent even show that number 13781-13100
  12. Its on again!!! Northern Districts Sporting Car Club is holding its sponsors day at willowbank autocross circuit on the 5 th of july.
  13. working on one ATM. easy to build info here: Chapter10_1_.pdf
  14. more than likely a SE, give us the chassis & model no's & ill see what i can find out
  15. the differences are in that counter shaft, KE70 one is bigger (cluster is different) & the front bearing on the input shaft was larger as well.
  16. ive got a set for a KE70.
  17. well that changes everything. was the car factory fitted with that g/box. iam thinking you will have to go toyota for this. ive got 2 part no:s 33411-10010 (up to 8/77) & 33411-10011 (8/77 to 8/80) this is the best i can do! best thing you can do is get a ke70 5speed with the rib casing & change the tail housing, there really easy to find parts for & you can do a set of bearings, counter shaft & gaskets for less than $200. good luck :bash:
  18. ive done a few off these g/boxs, igot the part from toyota & a place called BSC motion technology. toyota no: 33411-12020. this is only for the k50 with the ribbed casing not the smooth casing. (pix of casing please)
  19. Yes very comon problem. very cheap new as well. i paid $38 for last one brought
  20. Whats the difference between Ke70 racks & Ae86 racks? anyone know for sure?
  21. Good Work!
  22. in Rambo 4 his boat looks like its powered by a "k" engine
  23. blocks aren't wider for the head, but heads are different. 7k has 3 extra bolts below the spark plug holes. as for the conrods they are the same as 7A-FE (same part numbers) the only thing you can buy for them is "I beam" conrods. some guy does a 7A-GE engine kit - Google it hope this helps
  24. have you tried cleaning the jets. in the centre of the carby you'll see a plastic thing held down by 2 scews, unscrew it & the jets are under that. the 2 small ones are the idle jets, the other 2 are the emulsion tubes & they have the main jets on the bottom of them. the main jets just pull off. blow them out & check all the holes on the elmusion tubes aren't blocked. if that dosen't fix it then you will have to pull the carbs off. on the bottom of the carb is a plate (in the centre, held on with 4 bolts, has arm for accerator) remove the plate & check closely for any crap - this is where the main jet picks up the fuel from. with a old carb some crap can get in there & block the holes for the main jets. dellortos are a very easy carb to work on & not much goes wrong. if you do remove them from the engine there is special way they have to be bolted back on & you will need to rebalance them - not hard to do at all. hope this helps
  25. Yeh there called engine mounts, i have just fitted a new one piece shaft to my spirit & i can tell ya the one piece shits all over the 2 piece. less moving parts, no vibrations = worth the money as for handling, the only time this will affect it, is when a tailshaft isn't fitted. :lolcry:
