  1. We've been chasing a hi speed engine miss for a while now, and one of the things we are replacing because resistance is hi, is the coil, new one arrived to day. Genuine DENSO.... Also replaced was the dizzy cap, rotor arm, and new DENSO plugs are on there way.
  2. Craig and Peta gave me a trophy last year at the end of the 2WD series because i'd spent so much time and effort on the Celica. It was nice to be reconised for my efforts.
  3. Credit where credit is due Dave, we reconize the efforts of all service crew members put in, how ever small they think it is. I know some of the job don't seem to be a big deal, like cleaning windows, torquing wheel nuts, checking tyre pressures, etc, but at the end of the day it all matters to the driver when he's driving the tit's off it. Oh and thanks to all who voted for us for RCCOFT, but i think there's more deserving guys/cars.
  4. 45's are on the car, time for some Dyno time. Leen conversion gets ordered tomorrow. ;)
  5. No there not, found that out the hard way!! I think, from memory the AE86 sit back about 3mm.
  6. check the plug leads, they can break down when the engine gets warm. They should read 20.000 ohm's per 300mm (using a ohm's meter)
  7. Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed the read. It has been a bit of an effort to get it to this stage, but there's more to come as we develop it.
  8. Your most welcome to come out. Here's the link for all the information, there will be spectator points as well. http://www.bscc.asn.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=150&Itemid=96
  9. We've got a rally on this weekend at Kenilworth but i've already got service crew for that. Thanks for the offer. Today we got JUGGS!!! 45mm JUGGS. :D I like JUGGS.
  10. Not this tme, still doing the sportsman series up here and i think the last round is about that time. But next year we have committed o the 2WD rally master series. All the best with the Celica, my fingers are crossed.
  11. Keith is on to it. There's a lot of hard work in rallying if you want to run at the front of the field. Yes you need to know how to drive but the car has to be good as well, this includes all the hours maintaning the car. Tony and I are lucky, two of us work the on the car, tony drives and I do all the service, huge advantage having this sort of team work. We also have Rollaclub members who come and service for us as well, thanks Justin, Teddy and Dave. But you can just through a cage in a car and go out and have some fun, but don't expect to be at the front of the field in a car with just a cage. Another way to get into rallying and see what it's all about, is to offer your services as a service crew, most teams struggle finding guys who can swing spanners. The rally that last video shows, border rangers rally, that is one the nicest events in the way of road quality, they are a lot worse in QLD.
  12. Yes thery are interchangable, i have little 3y townace and they are like the K engines. Juat about everything changes over. Also have a manual for it too if you need it.
  13. and a little video Thanks to Mick again
  14. semi blocked idle jet or fuel cut off solenoid.
  15. Got a few more Pic's today of the car in action. Thanks to Mick at MTRmotorsport.
  16. We found Par in Sydney, think that's what their called. Quite cheap too and have done J160 gears before as well. But thanks for the suggestions guys..
  17. Yeah, we're replacing 1st and second gear, too short for the rally car. Only problem is Alburns have a 18 month wait, so we're looking around for someone else.
  18. Six speed box is now in bits.
  19. 5K isn't the same, different bore size.
  20. Very good question young grasshopper. It does comply with CAMs club rally car reg's, but we are going to do the AASA/AMSAG 2WD rally master next year. We've decided to take the Corolla around the easten part of the country. It's been fun playing in QLD but it's now time to see how good the car and driver are against the rest of Australia. Also Craig Aggio with the Group B Celica is going to be doing it again as well. The change to a 6 speed gearbox is the best thing, the old box was good but even with a close ratio kit, it would still be lacking in places, with is box we get the best of both worlds, 5 close gears and an overdriven 6th, so we keep our top end.
  21. Here you go, read this. http://www.gearboxconversion.com/
  22. Well after the problems with the gearbox, Tony has decided to fit an IS200 6 speed to the Corolla, cause it really doesn't comply with any of CAM's regs we're going to do it. We'll run the T50 in the car until the end of the year. The vibration was a bent main shaft, so we had a dig through our gearbox parts and have found a couple of shafts that may do the job.
  23. We had something of the same problem, but ours rubbed on the chassis at the back. Setup is Sigma LCA's, AE86 PWS arms, no lock spacer, and 13 x 6 rims with 195/70 rally tyres and a quaife quick rack.. Face it, you'll have to remove some lock out of the steering or change your rims.
  24. Prize giving was last night, so i got a chance to see some of the footage taken by MTRmotorsport. He's hoping to have a DVD to us soon. Also had an offer from one of the BDA drivers to buy the Corolla. :o
