  1. YOUR A LEGEND!!! :D i'd be interested in a copy, willing to pay for it as well.
  2. f@$k thats huge, what size engine? that cam i was talking about is a 57-83, with 280" lift. big duration
  3. here's some photos i have of the escudo and swift's(blue one is twin engined) Hsp(suzuki prototype) Hungarian suzukisport factory. M6(same as holden cruze but not 4wd)rollcages. Chris Atkinson,Vesa Mikkola(2004) photos
  4. on a straight road, the only hope you have is he'll fry a piston, get him to race you though some corners, the AE86 is a well balanced car, i've see videos of AE86's beating R34 skyline's across twisty roads. from standing start you might get the jump, corolla transfers power to the road better.(weight transfer to driving wheels).
  5. i know where a 7k-e manifold is, could be missing some parts though,(price ?) 7k dizzy is the same as 5k(internal igniter)but could be expensive.
  6. tony just looked at it and reckoned it's standard. sorry
  7. what engine is that off, clutch looks like AP racing,or i think centre force??
  8. the number is the throttle size and the letters denote the style,e.g doce side draught, ida down draught, big think is to know what size ventuires are in there, e.g 32mm or 34mm etc, the general rule is smaller the venturies the more torque low down, the larger the venturies more HP hi up. but there's alot of other factors that come in to it. like the cam in the rally car, it's a about 40-80 and you can still drive it around town in 4th at 50kms and it's happy. i'd never put a cam that big into a street engine, because it wouldn't be happy until your over 5 grand.
  9. i rekcon i could get a 7k to pull 8 grand, but it's the torque that matters, the cam shaft is the key, as long as the head is flowed right.check out the cam chart i put up, there's a 4 20 grind we tried years ago, and we could pull 9 grand easierly, i know of a racing starlet that ran that cam and he had the ability to rev it to 10 grand, f@$ken nut's.
  10. yeah the epc has got 2 listed but i'm sure that one is the hyd lifter and the other is an update for it. you'll know you've found the right one buy the price, the soilds are like half the price. they came out of a 1989 liteace KM3? but we needed the chassis number off it, so toyota told us before they could track it down, we never kept the chassis number. so it ended up a long hard road to find them again. i'd love to do a 7K, with solid lifters, upright kit etc, just to see what it'd be like. f@$ken torque, giddy up
  11. i saw your car drive though the service area at jimna and all so at a spectator point parked up, thought cool there's corolla supporter's here. nice corolla. yeah worked on the escudo last year getting it ready for race to the sky this year, which was last weekend, tajima won his 6th title. got some pretty cool photos of the engine trans and suspension setups.
  12. yeah i know what you mean, i brought 4 shocks for the rally car and it cost only $400 bucks, but the quality is what you pay for. suzuki use a lot of trd stuff in there super 1600cc cars, like trans pumps, bushes, etc. we've tried other shocks, like bilstien and koni, but alwways felt that the trd units were better, just really suited the car.the results show that,at jimna it finished 4th outright, not bad for a ke70 that's only 1540cc. if i do need anything in the future i'll keep you in mind, always good to have someone who knows the product and is a corolla fan. have found that there's a lot of trd stuff on ebay US and the prices are pretty good too, i would buy anything stuff from AUS they just ask to much for it, it's not that i don't think it's worth that money, but every dollar we save, is money spent towards competing with the car. we're lucky, we have an asain freind who goes to japan a lot, loves corollas and has freinds there who can bid on stuff in yahoo auctions(japanese ebay) for us. i'm coming to NZ sometime this year, so i might catch up with you.
  13. try drifting in a van, thats fun, NOT
  14. What no starlet !!!!!!
  15. proably just another wanker who thinks holdens and ford are well engineered. and V8 super cars are sold at the local dealers.
  16. doesn't matter all our tyres are bald any how!!
  17. i've worked with suzukisport japan for the last 4 years, working on JWRC super 1600cc rally cars. last year i was chris atkinson's no 1 mechanic, worked on monster tajimna's escudo at race to the sky, was there when the new cars were built(new swift) and built the 4wd test cars. last time i was in japan i brought back 4 trd shocks(AE86) for our rally car. i get 30% off TRADE. cheap!! not bad!!! there was so much trd stuff there it wasn't funny. even the local parts shop(like repco) stock it. taking this year off just to have a break at home and do some local events.
  18. what info are you after? i have some info on 5k's, most 4k stuff is the same.
  19. GO the GTIR :D
  20. yeah thats them, as for been crap, i don't know never had much to do with them.
  21. i know someone with 2TG twin manifold with SOLEX carbs, no aircleaners, they look like webbers, wants $300 for them. interested???
  22. i've got at work at the moment a AE86 with a SR20DET sitting in it, shame the engine is *ucked, huge intercooler on it. engine has NO oil pressure. not good
  23. that's expensive, try the afermarket bearing manufactures, and then just buy the layshaft from toyota if needed, or contact mr revhead, he might beable to get them a lot cheaper and frieght them to you. just a thought. here in AUS you can buy all the bearings aftermarket for about $200 aud and the layshaft is about $40 dollars and thats Aus dollars. i can price it up for you if you want?
  24. your welcome. Tony done a lot of seaching for the part number, we knew that the lifters were out there but never kept the orginal packets in NZ so it took several trips to toyota and about 6 new lifters but we finally found them again, now we have toyota lifter packets all around the garage and house so we'll never loose the part number again.
  25. i found it. note hi lighted by the cam i had in my starlet.
