  1. oh well never mind, i was going to give you that TRD upright kit for your troubles but i guess Mel needs you more. Teddy would rather work on a Subaru than a corolla, shame on you.
  2. so you're looking to service for someone Teddy, i'm sure Tony will be happy for you to service for us. Shit, he'll even pay you. :P
  3. Mel's scared of KE 70's, :P they can even bet Subaru's. :Þ
  4. you have hillman avengers there?? they use to rally those in NZ, they were the pick of the hillman range.
  5. i'd love to get a photo(like the urvan) with the rally car and van in tandem slides.
  6. the chassis code does say G510 i think but it's the bellhousing i'm interested in. the SBV is floor change, but the gearbox mount is on top of the tail housing, spose you could just change the rear housing. i have to get the motor and box out before i know for sure. what we do is take the bell housing off and just sell the box bare. so if it's the right thing bell housings should be easy to come by. i'll post it when i know for sure. fingers crossed.
  7. i might turn up to this with the new engine in the van, just scored a 3RZ, 2.7lt twincam engine for it. she'll have more pull than a room full of school boys. should beable to drift in it now.
  8. i've driven in europe on the autobarn and there f@$ken mad, but they are good drivers, they move over if you're faster, they don't tailgate and at night when you pass them they flash there lights to let you know you can pull back in. i totally agree with you. i'd be up for resitting my licence every 5 years. f@$k knows my memory isn't that good and you forget alot of stuff.
  9. a big thank you for that. from the looks of that, a W-K bellhousing is in a SBV townace van. that same box comes out in hilux, hiace, townace, corona. i'll have to do some more checking to confirm it but f@$k it looks good.
  10. i'd like to come, i want to learn how to get my van sideways without rolling it. :) i wonder if they'd let me run a van?? the van even better the tilt tray!!
  11. i'm researching something at the moment and i need a photo of a w55 gearbox(side on, front on). i'm hoping i'm right, if i am, w55 to k bellhousings will be easy to get. even a list of cars they came out in.
  12. ask datgirl if there was a KE70 in front of her at the last rally?? i think there was. :) my advice is find another sport. the entry fee alone is enough to put most people off. for the last rally it was about $450 and for rally queensland it's $900. do 15-20 rallys and there's 10 grand.
  13. the problem is they teach people how to pass there license, but not to drive. i think scrap the L,P plates and put them though a pratical driving course, which simulates all weather conditions and hazards, this would include how to avoid accidents, car control, etc.
  14. that looks like a 5k head, notice the water jacket around the chamber, i didn't think 3k-4k heads were that big,and also the head gasket marks, between the cylinders, they look too close together.
  15. i have a mate in japan, works for suzuki. i'll see if he can tell me what it means. i know some of the guys i worked with there use to work for toyota motorsport so hopefully they'll know.
  16. nice try, i've heard that joke, turn it upside down and what does it say ? OIL
  17. what about a skid pan day or round 2 of KCF is coming up.
  18. i don't think so, only starlets were injected. i wish ke70's had been.
  19. contact teddy, he has our TRD books and he should beable to give you a part number, or contact Mr revhead he works for toyota.
  20. the biggest thing with the upright is, it's f**ken easy to change the starter motor. :D there is big hp and torque gains from standing the engine upright, alot of it comes down to the intake runner length. but as jamie said oil return is one of the advantages. the upright kits are non existent, even we couldn't get a TRD bell housing, but we did get a K-t one with cable setup for the clutch. there is alot of work to standing them upright, engine mounts, gearbox, mount, oil pump and pickup, extractors, inlet manifolds and base plate, sump, rad hoses, gearstick and there is some other little bits as well. we've had this upright since 1989, and has been the best thing we done to the engine, not only for performance but for changing things quickly (much needed in rallys). i know that we brought the last kit in NZ but i have heard of copies being made. for me the holy grale would be to find a TRD bell housing, maybe one day!!! if your in brisbane, we have rally coming up in the next couple of weeks, come and have a look and i'll try to answer any questions you might have.
  21. it's a MX 5
  22. your talking about a car that was first manufactured in 1983, at the time it was considered to be well ahead most cars you could buy off the show room floor for a reasonable price. what made the car so good was it's over all BALANCE, twin cam engine, 4 wheel disc brakes, RWD configuration, and reasonably good power to weight ratio. with very little work they could be run in most motorsport events competitively. and now,how many years on, and the're still sort after, not too many cars i know of can lay clam to that. long live the AE86
  23. i know where there's one, has manifolds, wiring and computer.it's all 7k stuff. the inlet manifold has shorter runners than the 4ke, but i don't think i would be to bad. i'll get a price and make sure everything is there and then post it, if anyone wants it they can contact me.
  24. what about a injected 7k harness and computer, you might beable to get it rechipped???
  25. nice site, :P my mate Dylan who services for us, his dad owns an xc cobra in NZ and it's a beautiful car. but after watching mad max years ago, i fell in love with the shape of a xb coupe. i'll own one, one day.(maybe when i grow up) :D
