even w** boxes give problems, they use them behind townace, hiace,liteace and hiluxes. we sell them all the time for hiaces, and the one's what come back are siezed. it's like any thing mechanical, service it with the right oils and at the right distances and it will last. abuse it and it'll shorten it's life, to over come this, service it more offen. the rally car gets engine oil changes(with filter) every 2-3 rallys with Castrol RS. the Gearbox and diff get done at the same time. the average total km's is about 1000. we haven't had a gearbox or diff fail yet. (touch wood) broken plenty of axles though.

what's this code from?? DIAG-06 code 51 is from the A/C load circuit and is nothing to worry about.

whats the build date on the car?? most of toyota's codes are the same through the ranges. i'd be thinking it's the IAC(idle air control) could allso be the engine temp sensor for the computer. code 51 has to do with the A/C. i'd reset the codes first just to make sure that it's not from pass events. this is done by removing the EFI fuse under the bonnet for about 30 seconds and then refitting it. then check the codes again. if you still have problems let me know.

the wiring diagram i have shows the lighter on a different fuse, the fuse for the clock is called the DOME, it shows the power wiring as red with green tracer, this powers both the clock and interior light. if it was working before you put the head unit it's a good chance it's something you've done. check your wiring for the head unit.

welcome back, i have a mate in brisbane who does computer stuff from home (it's his business) and he's good on price.

Dam right, anything bosch is shit, relays, plugs, leads, electronics you name it.

denso or NGK's, all the others i've tried have given problems. split fire were a good plug until they sold the company and now there shit. we have twin electrode style plugs in the rally car and there great. the right plugs are worth HP.

if you unscrew that cover you'll find what looks like a chip, thats the module and those wirings come from the pick up inside the dissy, what the chip does is Amplify the signal from the pick up. hope this explains it.

same engine as my townace, the plug tubes are interchangeable.

we also have 2 broken engine mounts, i'm thinking from Tony launching the car on the starts. this is how it goes: countdown to start, "5" little rev,"4" bigger rev,"3" almost 6000rpm,"2" 7000rpm ,"1" on limiter, "GO" no riding the clutch, straight off the floor. this was the test for the new diff and axles.

yeah i know about the rose joints, but this is one most rally guys don't know: if the manufacturer uses spherical bushings you can use them. now that means from any model from the same manufacturer. F**ken CAMS are idots that they keep the cars so regulated that i'll end up like V8 super series, BORING.
