  1. ETA is about 8.30-9.00, we'll be stopping at the BP to fuel up,(bruce hi way) should be there around the 7-30 mark. or you'll see us on the road, we'll be the slow one's.
  2. no problem for the gearbox mounts, there's 2, one for the K box and another for the T 50. As for engine mounts, WRONG!!!, you do have to manufacture the brackets to the block and use RWD 323 mounts,$12 from mazda, don't use aftermarket one's as they don't last. shouldn't be a problem to get a copy of those either. mmmm, do you still have my starlet manual??? i'm not too sure who borrowed it.
  3. sorry Nick K spigot bears are in the end of the crank. if you have a welder at home, smash the centre of the bearing out and then weld around the inside of the rest of the bearing, let it cool down and it should fall out, if not, weld it some more. if you don't have a welder go to super cheap and buy a panel beaters slide hammer, the one they use to pull big dents out with, they have a hook attachment that fits inside the bearing.
  4. once again the so called performance mechanic's strike. will we never learn. it is F**ken hard to find GOOD mechanics who know what there doing.
  5. any TRD uprite bellhousings in your shop??? :jamie: we have a TRD cam gear for a K engine you can use as a template when and if we strip the engine. i think the degrees are 3,5,7,10,15 and 30. i where to get new after market gears cheap. you could sell it as a complete timing chain kit, new gears, chain, gaskets and seals.
  6. we're leaving home about 7, so should be at the mobil on bruce hi way about 7.30, you could follow us. i think Teddy is going??? TEDDY!!!! we got a fantastic seating as well, 6th outright. not bad for a KE70.
  7. quad cam all alloy 4.3 litre lexus 2uzfe twin turbo'd. you can get a half cut for a 2uzfe for about $2500. no-turbos don't worry about transport, they'd have to catch you first.
  8. did anyone else pay for a trophy to say that they were at the all toyota day??? i haven't seen mine and i've lost the guys number. pick charged me $15 and i haven't seen it. does anyone have his number???
  9. turn the engine over with the cam belt cover off and see if the cam gear is moving, if it is then take the rocker cover off and check to see if the cam is moving. i'm thinking it's either the belt or the cam gear has stripped the key in the end of the cam.
  10. KYB's are still been made for ke70's, they are cheap and not too hard.
  11. i wonder who that was aimed at???? i thought everyone gave good advice. maybe he just didn't like what he was been told, oh well let his old man fix the problem then, after all he's the one who apparently caused it.
  12. i'd be thinking exhaust manifold gasket has blown out some where or flange gasket.
  13. i have a mate also who's a cop and a bloody nice one, keep telling him he's in the wrong job, but he likes helping people, never has dramas in his job either.
  14. duct tape and cable ties, is there anything they can't fix???
  15. good info on the models, only found some of the production dates were a little off. good site though!!!
  16. any K engine will bolt up to any K gearbox(bellhousing). you might have to change flywheels and some other stuff but they do all bolt up the same, and that includes 7K's.
  17. this is for the people who keep asking me for info for there corolla's. when i ask for where it was built and the year and month it was built, there is a reason for it!!!! asking me for a wiring diagram for a ke 70 is like asking for a wiring diagram for a toyota, there's that many of them if you don't give the right information you'll get the wrong thing. i've spent that much time this week emailing people trying to get details of there cars. IF YOU ARE GOING TO ASK FOR TECH INFO GIVE THE: MODEL,YEAR,MONTH,WHERE IT WAS BUILT. and any other information you thinK will help(and i don't mean the colour). if not, do what everyone else does, BUY YOUR OWN f@$kEN BOOK. my bitch for today.
  18. cheers, i wasn't sure after reading the last post. i that case i would get the trans serviced REAL QUICK.
  19. is your car a manual??? for some reason i thought it was an auto. can't look at it this weekend as i have to work, painting my workshop floor and moving (hopefully) back in after being out of there for 6 weeks. you could call into work on saturday and i'll have a quick look!!! i think you know where i work?
  20. everyone goes on about HP,Torque is what it's all about, the ability to accerate a large mass. it just depends on where you want the torque. as for 215 out of a 20v, i've seen 225 out of a 20v and they're getting more all the time.
  21. i use 3 bond as a sealant, it's made in Japan and it's what toyota and nissan use to seal there sumps. doesn't go all soft and shitty like silcone when exposed to oil. it is expensive and hard to find, but i'd consider it to be the best.
  22. when was the last time you serviced the transmission??? also thinking there could be a sensor for reverse thats playing up :jamie: would like to see the car and the codes it's flashing, could be something simple, like a vacumn line off, dirty electrical plug connections.
  23. i was going to quote what jamie had said.
  24. your combo switch is f@$ked from the sound of that. my old corolla use to trun the headlights off while i was driving, that was fun. combo switch was the cause, pulled it apart and fixed it, because i was to tight to go and buy another, also better the devil you know.
  25. personally i'd use any Synthetic gear oil 75-90, also an old rally trick is to over fill the gearbox by about 0.5 of a litre. works really well for K boxes. it keeps the gearbox cooler, so less heat, less stress. that doesn't mean MORE IS BETTER. saying all that if the box isn't any good to start with, you'll be wasting your time. if it was me i'd rebuild a g/b and then over fill it and try that. i had great success by doing this.poor mans trans cooler.
