  1. it's a very early MR2, this one was made in 1984. and it's an auto. call around and see Tony sometime, he'll tell you all about it.
  2. came out of a blue MR2, i think you know who the owner is!!!
  3. cool :lolcry: :fuzz: :bash:
  4. here's a couple of photos that show why Toyota went to a 42mm big end journal in the 100 kw engine. this engine has only 160,000 km's on it and it wasn't driven hard?
  5. plug gap is 0.8mm( for points) and 1.1mm (for electronic) and timing is 5 btdc + or - 2 degrees idle speed is 700 - 850
  6. if you heat the head up, (no more than 200c) you'll find they almost fall out. Any hotter than 200c the alloy starts to go soft!!! don't try and remove them cold as you can crack the ports if you hit them too hard.
  7. I've also got a genuine Toyota manual, (hard copy only). sitting here. covers EFI, brought it out of the US.
  8. time for super glue on the rev limiter, bro!!!!
  9. i hate doing this, but does anyone have a cam timing diagram for a RA23 celica with a 18RG. i have an engine that just doesn't want the timing marks to line up. well after much searching i have finally found some info on it.
  10. is there any bolts around the front of the engine, by the timing cover where it meets the cylinder head.
  11. thats a T-50 TA22 celica( hence the gear shift) box with a K-T bell housing.
  12. 18mm pin will fit on the 86kw 4AGE, as the 100kw engine has 20mm pins.
  13. depends on what 4AGE crank you have, i think the 86kw crank has 40mm rods and the 100kw has 42mm, there is a difference but the mains are the same size.
  14. quick answer: it's miles away, forget the center console. :D
  15. an interesting thing i just found in my Australian Repco data manual, it shows a 5k with the soild lifters.
  16. on it's way to ya, and i also have the 7ke manual too.
  17. Hey all you rally fans, Northern Districts Sporting Car Club are holding there First ever Rally and are need of road blocks. if anyone is interested, just turn up on the day. All information is on there website: www.ndscc.asn.au Everyone is welcome
  18. i have the wiring diagram in PDF, what's your email address?
  19. second gear synchronizing cone is ether worn out or the cone has polished the gear that it runs on. in short, no you don't need a new gearbox, try a different oil of a lower grade, if that doesn't fix it the box will have to come apart.
  20. i assume there's no holes in it, make your own. tap them out and use a puller.
  21. someone needs a life. :P
  22. most 5k's don't have adjustment for lifters, you have to grind down the pedestal or space it. the only 5k's with adjustment are the ones with solid lifers.
  23. timing is 5 plus or minus 2 5k's don't have points there electronic, I'd try using 4k settings for that one. Toyota don't have a hot and cold clearance check for there lifters because there machining is so good, and if you have clearance you have a problem, there shouldn't be any.
  24. km 3* liteace van is the manual you need, i think that's the only thing that had a 5k in Australia. just about all the torque spec's are the same as 4k. this might help;
  25. have you looked here for your strut tops?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOTA-CORO...1QQcmdZViewItem
