  1. get denso ones NOT bosch, will last twice as long.
  2. security camera with IR's and mini dvr inside the car, they run off 12v, search on ebay.
  3. fuel lines needed
  4. "Need it" is the stuff, we have used on rally cars and the tanks are still leak free after 2 years. It's made by Selleys i think.
  5. none of those look like 86 p/s arms, there all too long. Justin come and have a look at the rally car as it has AE86 pws arms on it
  6. go on, open up the exhaust ports and see what happens, you'll be disappointed!!!
  7. you could have told me about this when you were around, we can do something to / about them! :) if you need a place to store the corolla just ask, the townace can sit in the sun for a few weeks. get some liquid nails and glue there toolboxes shut, that''ll f@$k em. :)
  8. the T-18 also came out with a 4k in it, was called a KE 70 liftback i think, you never got them in Aus though. they had a 4k, k50 and 6" JDM diff but every thing else was the same as the T-18. Also had rack and pinion steering as standard!!!
  9. TRD (Roller club member) is the expert in these gearboxes, the Ta 22 is different in the shifter location and the shifter shafts, but the gear set is interchangeable with the T18. the AE 86 and i think the AE 71 has larger bearings and shafts, there is also something in the bellhousing. the TA22, T18 and K-T bell housing won't fit the later gearbox without some grinding due to the larger bearings. I'm sure there's more???
  10. only if it's a 5 spd!!!
  11. ERG system could always be on, check the valve clearances, could also be a vacuum leak somewhere as well. only other question i would ask, did you buy the car like this or is it a problem that has just started??? has someone changed the timing belt as it sounds like it could be out.
  12. yeah it will fit a K engine if you use a k-w bellhousing from a kr42 townace.
  13. It's a W series gearbox.
  14. would it be All Crash Parts in Geebung, don't know the address but it's not far from Mac'ers
  15. Welcome!!
  16. if it's a rally won't you have a weight limit for the class? we have a 1600cc and the class limit is 880kg's if it's 1300cc it's 790kg's. if your planning to go lighter you can get a ke70 below 700 kg's, but it requires lexen windows, no door frames, fiberglass bonnet, boot, bumpers etc.
  17. All I'll say is good luck, and i do mean good luck, i hope it works for him. But there's more to an upright engine than most people think.
  18. we have one, and it is a genuine twin head light DX as well. it came from NZ not for sale though.
  19. The only KE70's that came with a 2 piece tail shaft were the Australian ones. The Japaneses KE 70's were all one piece. hence the rally car having one. 2 piece tail shaft reducing vibration?, i think it increases it as the center bearing is attached to the tunnel and any vibration is transmitted directly to the body.
  20. simple answer is yes, most Toyota igniter's are interchangeable, where the problem is, is the coils, use a denso coil and not some aftermarket piece of crap,(GT40, Bosch) also check on the coil to see if it needs a ballast resistor or not, this does make a difference. we have had one in the rally car for years and has NEVER given a problem. they are worth HP, better spark, more reliable than points and better control of timing in higher rpm engines. my 10 cents.
  21. Castrol Formula RS 0 - 30 i think? but it's not a $100 engine so the money is well spent.
  22. here's some of our rally car!
  23. sorry Teddy can't make it this time, will be at Targa Tassie when this is on.
  24. what does holding the accelerator change? It allows for a true compression reading. if you have NO compression at all, i would be thinking it"s the inlet valve is not being opened thus not letting any air into the cylinder. i have seen this on Y series engines before. Hard to diagnose a problem over the internet. the tappets on these engines also aren't adjustable as they have hydraulic lifters, you may have a seized lifter? If the engine has only 130,000km's on it, i wouldn't think it's a valve, more like a valve train problem. or could just be a dirty great hole in the piston. If you were in Brisbane I'd be happy to take a look.
  25. First of all, where are you? pull the spark on the cylinder that hasn't got any compression and put some oil down there,(a couple of cap fulls) wine it over a couple of times then do your compression test again, if the compression comes up, it's a ring problem, if it doesn't it's a valve problem. with Y series engine check to make sure that all the push rods are in place, they do have a habit of popping them out if you rev them too hard. with rocker cover off wine the engine over by hand and make sure all the valves are opening and closing. also make sure you do the compression test with your foot hard on the gas!!! if you can anymore questions call me (chris) on 0402510007.
