Yeah I did the conversion my self. The few things that needed to be done was make new engine mounts, I have seen people use a combination of TA22 ones with the stock SR mounts. I made my own so the engine sits further back which then meant that the firewall needed to be hit with a sledge hammer. I’m going to recesses mine back 20mm though to so I can accesses the top bell housing bolts plus the fact it will look nicer. The shifter needed a new hole cut in the floor as the SR box is bigger. That’s really about the only things with my conversion that needed to be done but you will find that you will have to do most of that stuff with any engine you use. Cheers Shaun.

4AGE would be the best bet, they fit very well and can make decent amount of power if you opt for the GZE and throw a turbro on plus the fact that they are a toyota engine makes it even better. I'm running a SR20 in my KE30 but if i was going to do it all over again i'd go a 4AGTE

Yeah sorry bout taking so long, I have fixed the clutch master problem with out having to change to a peddle box setup and have bought a Garrett GT2876R for it. I will get pix up soon as I’ve been busy with other things. Cheers Shaun.

Thanks mate sorry about the late reply I will get some photo’s for you next time I’m near car.

Thanks Matt appreciate it

With the tunnel clearance it wasn’t too much of a hassle as this 30 was an automatic so the tunnel was much bigger than the manual, but still had to do the usual sledge hammer massage in a few spots along the fire wall and tunnel but will smooth it all out when I go to do the body work. The clutch master I’m using is a TA22 hydraulic item it’s the same bore size as the standard SR master. You still have to modify the clutch peddle to use it though. Matt (oh what a Nissan feeling!) was the man who answered that question for me he made a page on it a while ago if you do a search it will show you exactly what you need to do. Cheers Shaun.

The way that the motor is mounted the standard intake plenum hits the steering box so I went this way with it. I would of liked to use something off the shelf but that’s what you get with this type of thing.
-
Mate I would love to see a photo of your plenum and how it’s put together. The taper has been changed from those photos it’s about 15mm smaller any more any it would be getting close to those stacks I think. With those mounting point I have no idea why they were removed but it is getting a billet rail so I will get some brackets welded on cheers.

Thanks mate that’s what I have done, its as far back as possible that’s probably why the plenum is hitting the clutch master and have to mount it under dash or something lol.
-
Thanks mate that’s the type of thing I was looking for. I’ve got a sr20det here is my rides page http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=20868 . I will have a look at it some more over the week end and see if I can come up with something, cheers Shaun.

Hey guys I posted this on Toymods but didn’t get much help so I thought I’d ask you…. Hey guys is anyone running a peddle box with the clutch master mounted under the dash and the reservour remote mounted (something like a van setup) as I will need to do this because my intake plenum is in the way. Any pics would be great has I can do all the fabricating just need an idea on where to start. Cheers Shaun.

Hi everyone, Got over waiting for parts for the 30 so I thought I’d start a thread about my little project that I have had going for awhile. It started with a mate of my brothers getting rid of a 77’ 4 door KE30 and I needed something to spend my money on at the time so I bought it ready for me to start my first real engine conversion/project. Unfortunately I don’t have any picks of it as they were deleted off my old P.C but I’m sure you all know what they look like mine was white had black stockies and way too much rust to be a worth while project so I got rid of that and bought my current Rolla a 75’ 2 door I picked it up off a Rolla club member named bstjunkie for I think $650 was fairly clean with rust in the usual spots a 2 speed toyoglide 3K and a neat interior except for the crack in the dash so a much better car to start off with, plus the fact it’s a two door which is better looking in my opinion. So the conversion started on this one right away with my younger brother and I ripping the old running gear out in a day. And the new motor in the next day as I had already done the engine mounts on the 4 door so It was as easy as swapping over x-members and away it went The motor is a SR20DET out of a 94’ Sil80 with 105K’s on the clock. The motor will be given a full rebuild with forged internals and all the fruit to be able to handle around 250RWKW and a low 11 high ten ¼ mile with any luck. Also a friend and I have started to make an intake plenum for it. For the suspension and brakes I’m running a Hopper Stoppers kit and an asdf coilover setup with Koni adjustable shocks and Cusco camber tops that you can see in those engine bay pics which I had to modify the strut tower because those are meant for an AE86. In hind sight I should of bought TA22 ones but I didn’t and I have to live with it For the rear end I’m running a cut down Hilux diff and soon to be a Tru-Trac LSD with 4.11 gears. That’s all I got for now because my computer keeps dying on me and it takes forever to redo will update more later. Cheers Shaun.

lol Cheers mate will do

I’d put my vote on the hopper stoppers kit as I have the kit at home, its looks very tough comes with 290mm x 28mm rotors, twin piston AU callipers, braided lines(extra) and a hub to fit any strut and stud pattern you want and any extra brackets and bolts you need. I’ve also got a Pajero m/c that bolts up to the stock KE30 booster, you need it for the 1” bore. A bit expensive at $1400 but they probably the best kit you can get and simple as to install. Haven’t used them yet but if they are good enough to pull up that SR20 KE20 running 9’s it should be sweet.

Nice work, thanks for that much appreticated. Cheers Shaun
