  1. Is this a daily or a racer? It will run without one, but I'm not sure how legal emissions are without it. When you get it tuned they'll shove an extra meter up the exhaust anyhow. If the wolf datalogs and supports wide band sensors it'd be a good investment to make it user tuneable. Accuracy aint that great at high revs but it will idle better with a sensor plugged in. If your exhaust has no spot for a sensor I'd get a round screw in one, and just weld a nut on to the exhaust.
  2. This is a message to anyone who's done a silvertop conversion in RWD with a standard computer Which bloody water kit really works? I've read too many conflicting opinions as to whether a standard ecu will work ok. If you've done this conversion, I'd like to hear your opinion. Leaning towards a kellam kit for now.
  3. I went to the importers today to score a bigport 4age to bolt in my corolla. They were all so weathered and crusty that I walked out with a 20V silvertop, loom, ecu, afm, and cut loom :hmm: . Damn I know how to make work for myself. mmm, I can smell a money pit coming on!
  4. Ah cool, the beast goes :P hmm... that must be loud without any pipes! I'm going down south to work on my uncles farm tomorrow, haven't had enough coin to get the bottom end rebuilt yet, damn it! 2 months hard labour should fix that. It's all going into a KE55 coupe, posted a few pix in projects a while back. I'd put the diff in if there wasn't poor old 4K behind her, not enough power there to really be a problem yet :P
  5. Ah sweet, I thought you must be getting close to getting the blower sorted on the sr20, looking sweet :P You manage to score a set of cam's that'll fit the s14 head yet? Or is this why you're in favour of after markets straight up? You'll have to get the car on the scales too, KW/tonne it'd be interesting.
  6. make sure you source a new flywheel aswell, the 4AC job won't bolt up. (I've got a spare). I've recently heard that the dizzy on the 4AGE spins the oppisite way to a K motor, so there is no advance of the spark, just retardation when the advance kicks in. 4AC radiator should hold up ok as long as you run an oil cooler. My mate's has had no trouble in 2 years set up like this, and he has 288 degree cams!
  7. Had the same problem once, grind the intake manifold let it all line up ok. If your stock manifold fits with the extractors make a stencil of it and mirror it on the side draft manifold.
  8. Hey, could I get a repost of this? Or is it in the FAQ hiding somewhere?
  9. Lolz, a rolla club beast returns :P The engine appears to be a van motor, a KE70 air box rocker cover breather thingo interfere's with carby, unless it's a corona one you threw on it :) Pajero master on it :P I wondered what the deal was. Yeah wasn't too sure about the seats, but they sure are comfy. Your pix show just how clean she was originally, and I was wondering who would go to all the effort with an external temp controller for the radiator and the thermo. Can't wait to see where this old girl goes, gonna give the 55 all the love in the world :P
  10. Ahh cool, it has an emu guts :P I wouldn't get anything done if that was in the living room.
  11. Sweet, pulled of the front wheels today, what a lovely surprise. A MA40 / corona non vented front end was hiding there! :P I was wondering why the ride height was so high with "lowered" springs Cool Rolla__Boy, I'll have to take you up on that sometime soon.
  12. that looks sweet :) One of my mates has 5 neogeo's and 3 table tops :S
  13. Wiring in the tacho is the same across the board. Tacho's generally just have a ground wire, a 12V feed, light feed, then a signal feed from the negative pole of the coil.
  14. Cutting off a shifter makes it short, but doesn't make it a "short shifter". A short shifter has the center of axis of the shifter mounted higher so that you get more leverage on the selector. I drive trucks at work, my thinking is that it's all about how well you know a shifter, once you have fully adapted it's not a problem.
  15. looks sus as, shouldn't let go there, you'd think a small end would come apart, not the whole gudgeon connection.
  16. Ah cool, looks nice eh. TRD kE70, Gotta get your wreckers to source me an LSD from a mazda van to fit a B1800 housing salsbary type, 10 bolt I think. 23 spline axels I believe.
  17. USD, they've quoted me $50 us for the postage of a 20V adapter, so I dare say it wouldn't be too dear.
  18. Hey everyone! Just letting you know about a great place to get 20V adapter and also Short shifters for the T50 box. Short shifter Thinking maybe we should try to get a group buy happening, save on some freight.
  19. Sweet, glad to hear someone else is building a hybrid bigport. I can't wait to get an efi motor going if the old rolla! So confirmed, the tacho is a celica job, I love the sleeper factor :) Should have realized, how could there be 2 "brakes" warning lights!! The fuel and temp guage sit to the left of the speedo, where the clock should be, I think... Went gremlin hunting today, hmm, gotta love retards and there quality rust fixes. They call it bog because some people could shit on there car and do just as good a job :P The colour matched in few patches is a marone too, doh!
  20. I get what you mean about the tacho, don't sit there right :P Will have a better look at it once I get the car home tomorrow
  21. Try giving it a mouthful of carby cleaner, new spark plugs, air fiter, fuel fiter and do the timing. Amazing what i've seen that do to motors that don't even want to run. Check the points and the gap of them too.
  22. Pics of the new rolla!
  23. Taking ownership of my 5th corolla tomorrow! Pretty clean for it's age, a neat little unit, pity they painted the bumpers! gonna have to score some KE30 ones. You might have seen it on ebay b4 a scored it, it was just hiding a suburb away :P It's a round head light model :| Current Specs: Stock low K import 4K,stocko exhaust, factory 5spd recoed apparently... New clutch and brakes Metallic red with purple pearl, a little standard KE55 rust and a little bingle on the drivers door New tyres, 14" rims. Honda CRX seats Celica tacho in dash, now with bump auto-switch Mod's bolting in soon: I'm putting in a 4AGE 20V sometime, money permitting. Mazda B1800 4.4 rate diff with EA falcon brakes. Cheers guys.
  24. Hmm, that 20mm pin is asking for a blower :D They're a sturdier motor than I thought.
