Well I got a little shock today when I uncovered my stuffed 3MZ :lolcry: I wondered where the giant rat that was raiding the chicken grain had gotten too :D

Studs are 4 x 114.3. Depends how wide in regards to the offset. With 7's +18 fit, +5 fills the guards. How wide a rim are you looking at? XT130 corona struts are a good alternative and take the same shocks and coilover kits as the AE86 and is normally minus the takumi tax.
-
What corona? XT130 or RT132 have a few good bids, the later model ones are scrap.

Hello Dear Sir, I am a south African dignitary. Due to the collapse of the government I am left in a situation where I cannon claim the 1.5 million US dollars that's in my account. I need a 2nd party to take claim of this account. It will cost you $1000 to start a new account where I can transfer 1.5 million dollars into your account. I only require 30% of the 1.5 million dollars when it is transferred to your new account and I trust that you will transfer me $450000 when the transfer is completed. Regards Heinrich Von Scam

I hope your not expecting people to feel sorry for you when you pay more tax than the average Joe earns each fortnight... :lolcry:

Yeah I'm not sure exactly what happens. Someone I know has a collection of boxes all broken exactly the same with a 500hp 350chev. It's normally under a flat shift of 2nd gear down the 1/4 mile. Because of the angular gears and add a massive torque of the motor when you drop the clutch 2nd just slides out a bit and you have 20% of the tooth not engaged and it just chews the gear off.
-
Well I think the metallurgy of the material they make the teeth from would have gotten better over the years, if it's a JZA80 W58 box, that rule of thumb would be true, they also run a strong magnet in the bottom of the sandwich plate in the oil to collect metal filings. But yeah, people do think they're stronger, but you can find W58's with an alloy sandwich plate - it's all the steel center boxes with the wider bearings that should be stronger. Stupid part is it isn't the bearings that go in a W box, it's 2nd gear thanks to end float. I've seen piles of W boxes with chewed off 2nd gear and you can see that 4mm of the tooth wasn't even engaged when it failed.

In track condition the T50 suffers similar gap issues as a W55, I'd chose a W58 or W57 for a performance car every time. It's the reason why W57's and W58's are sought after, and cost a bit more money.
-
W55 is basically a truck box IMO. W57 or W58 if you don't want a big gap between 2nd and 3rd. W57 is basically a close ratio box, W58 is the same with a longer overdrive so you can run a higher ratio diff an still get decent fuel economy down the highway.

4Age 20Valve Into Ae93 Conversion Wiring Information
beerhead replied to saunders1990's topic in Engine Conversions
People can probably help if you have a go after looking over the 20V and 100kw diagrams. What are you stuck at? Half of it just plugs in if its and EFI car. Your car carby? -
IGT and IGF goes to the ecu. other wires are Tacho 12V Coil feed Wiring is written under the igniter too :)

The 80's were the golden era, so much shit got done by labour under the influence. Zero workplace health and saftey. A friend who worked up the mines in the 80's was saying that they were rationed a pack of ciggies and 2 six packs a night with 2 cartons on the weekend for the good times. If you don't drink it, they cut your rations too, who'd want that!
-
Pack of ciggies and a six pack! Didn't try that at school though...

You'd know all about it :P We all know in NSW they don't call them ewe's, they call them sluts :lolcry:

Over the last month I've been restoring the oldies trailer. It's about 10 years old, well made with a checkplate floor, so it was decided to give it a new lease of life. Basically a pile of hay was left in the bottom and the paint turned really rusty. I've finished the chassis restore now, about 4 hours grinding and cleaning, really happy with it though after 3 coats of matt black kill rust. The rest of the trailer is just about prepped too, over a days work, just need to clean it up really good and pour rust converter over the base before giving is 3 coats of kill rust blue. Chassis restored! Trailer base half way prepped. About 3 days work, $60 of tig consumables and alot of 4 letter words :P Turned out really good though and lets you put a tarp on the roof for the crappy QLD weather! Nice and light so mum can even put it together. The sheep whisperer :P

Nah, lost a phone and got a new one a while back. Shoot it to me in a PM. Brad

With these kind of superchargers can you setup an intercooler very easily? This thing will fly and with that supercharger the slow speed offroading will be great. A mate from school who's up the coast has an Jackaroo with a chev 4L v6 and a 4 speed commo auto, on 4.7's and massive muddies. Has been wide bodied too, 8" lift :lolcry: Have to introduce you guys so you can go tear up some offroads somewhere, looking at spending the weekend in Pomona in a week or 2, so definitely beer time :)

T18 run the same MC. Cylinder sizes won't match right so the rear brakes more than the front. Might be worth comparing the proportioning valve under the MC, as that may just have a different size hole in it and fix the issue.
-
FAQ has the peug /hilux brake upgrade for corona struts. Many people run standard M/C, but you'll have a bit more pedal travel than standard and a tendancy to lock up the rears. You can back off the drums evenly on each side to get it braking a little better but matching MC to the brakes is a good idea and safer. I think corona is 7/8's bore, 13/16th's or 3/4 on the corolla.

What an improvement on the floor pan. Top work there mate, talk soon.

Def a quad cam, 2 heads that are twin cam on each side normally called a quad cam. Twin cam is a 3VZE

Just remind him regularly that he has a bitumen bandit, that's warranty is null and void if it's been in more than a foot of water, which is what a 4wd was designed for... Go Jeep, what a quality 4WD :lolcry:

I'd go for lift on the Wienermobile - Imagine what the girls would say when you ask them if they wanna have a ride of your Monsterweiner :lolcry:

Yeah up to a point. Ask him if he thinks he can make 800hp on a 4cyl motor with a supercharger? If he say's yes, he's dreaming. A screw charger capable of 800hp will use close to 100hp at idle, which yeah a 6L V8 can deliver, but any 2L 4 banger will struggle to do that. It just won't work with the needed cam size to make the power. A turbocharger on the other hand will just be a laggy whore until you hit 7000rpm and make a quick jump to 10,000rpm when as it comes on song.
