atm i have an ae82 auto Looking to buy an ae92 sx I don't plan on any major work guys, some nice wheels, exhaust system, somewhere down the track and audio (sub amp etc) I am currently a student

I think thats how its spelt anyway... Have 3800 saved.. + car worth 2k ish Do i buy a car with that money then sell the car and use that money to modify or use the saved money and sell the car to buy a better car and wait till i save up more money to mod it??

aww i want one of these... how many kms did this have on it when u bought it mate?? Would you care to help me look out for an sx hatch/liftback?

Got the car back and problems fixed. I do not know if my problem is the same as what yours is but it sounds very similar epecially the first part. Lookin on the tax invoice he has got "deadjust throttle cable to gain idle control".. Hope this helps

like i said, i don't know much about cars.. my dad has a mate who does all of our mechanical work for a good price

ae82, may be the case may not.. Its really frustrating though cos i don't wanna spend big bucks if i don't have to.

I do not know alot about cars, i am just learning. As most of you know I'm on the lookout for a new gearbox for my red 4age. However i spoke to a guy at work and he said i needed to replace something , can't remember what its called. Problem being gears crunch going into second above aprox 30kmph, every other gear is fine. It will go into 2nd without crunching at around 20-30kmph if i ease it into it and will go in no troubles below 20. Does this mean i need a new gearbox???

no the fuel doesnt cut out, only time the car cuts out is when the idling goes from high to low and it gets too low that its below 500rpm so sometimes i have to keep the revs up and then people think I'm a rev head lol.

good good, sorry couldnt make it to the last but with the car having idling troubles and in need of a new gearbox i think i might have been pushing it....... literally

I have the same problem with mine except for the second part. I'm getting it fixed tomorow, ill let you know what the diagnosis is.

Sorry to hear mate, can't really offer you any advice regarding insurance etc. But if you do happen to look to sell your gearbox i am looking for one to go in my ae82 silvertop 20v. Where do you live?

would there be anything else that i would need to buy for the replacement? Sorry bout all the questions, I'm new and i wanna be sure that all goes well

When i took the car somewhere regarding another problem he said this needed to be replaced. He also said it is cheap to replace. 1. What does it do. 2. can i drive the car whilst it needs replacing 3. how expensive to replace 4 and how hard is it to replace (could someone with a reasonable car knowledge replace it)

What can i expect to pay for one and where is the best place to look in adelaide? I just rang city dismantlers, didnt know what a c52 was, said he had gearboxes for silvertops @ $795... wow?
