you went through 4 water pump housings? what were you doing? Anyway dudes, the corolla is fixed and back on the road. i went down to city dismantlers this morning and picked up a new housing for $38.50, put the thmosat and housing on the new one along with the other thing, anyone know what it is, put the new pump on along with every thing else, replaced the coolant and changed the oil, there wasn't as much water oin the sup as i thought.

$35 pretty good :P i've found the problem, the gasket around the water pump had disintedgreated, amd water had leaked into one of the bolts, bolt rusted enough to cause the leek. I have bought a brand new pump from sprint auto for $68, along with gasket goo, coolant and oil ( I'm pretty sure i've now got water in the sump, so i'll change it before it does any damage) BUT, in changing it over tonight, i've managed to snap off part of the bracket on the block ( i know I'm i dick head) :D So now I'm going to have to perform some "Monster Garage" to mend the bracket on the block, i was thinking of welding it back on? sound like a plan?

the car has only done 113 537 km, which is very little for a car thats 22 years old, and the car has only been running on coolent, i only put water in there to hlep try and find the leak, whichi can't find

Sup rolla dudes,:D my water pump on the way home from work shat itself, and leaks coolent, i've tried putting more collent/water to see where it was coming from, it didnt help just leaked out again I'm going to pull it out after work tomorrow, and see if anything hasn't snaped, maybe try on the weekend to get a 2nd hand re-placement. Anyone else had this problem with the Ae71,4a-c engine before?
