Bought my stereo yesterday. All Jvc gear. 4 inch 150watts for the front, 300 watt 6x9's for the rear, and an amp. Nothing too flash just wanted something half decent to listen to while cruising. Cleaned the cabin so the trimmer can start. He should have the roof lining done tommorrow. Ran the speaker wires, cleaned up the under dash area. Spent some time cleaning the quarter windows and a few other trims.

Mate that is so cool!! Love it. The stance, the whitewalls, the interior Love it !!

No mate not entering Summernats! I want to try and debut at Al palmer's Toyota Show next year. You are pretty close with your guesses too mate!! Have to organise stereo and gauge panel for the trimmer. And buy billet accessories.
-
Hey thanks Mark! I took my car to the trimmers on the weekend. I planned on getting the exhaust done before it went but the trimmer had a spot in his shop for me. Otherwise it wouldn't have gone until later in the year. The colour I have chosen for the trim is going to be a matter of opinion! Will post pics soon.

No mate no turbo! And no they are not the wheels going on it. They are for a commodore I think. I'll be running billets mate.

Here are some photo's that I took last night. The engine is only waiting for plug leads and a radiator cap, then it will be ready to start.

Been a long time since I updated. There has been a bit of progress of late. Doors are painted and assembled with all new or refinished componentry, and fitted to car. Guards and bonnet ready to paint. Custom tailshaft is fitted. Slotted front rotors have been purchased. Car is ready to go and get exhaust done, then off to trimmers.

Was at Northern auto wreckers at Londonderry today. That guy is a bit strange. Anyway there is about 6-7 Ke30-55 Corolla's there. All in average condition but still a lot of salvageable parts. I was looking for ke20 parts and there was only one there. Its the same one thats been there for about ten years. I got the roof lining (use for template only!), rear window and some interior plastics. Surprisingly on the front seat there was a set of KE10 taillights and Ke15 sprinter taillights. Both sets complete but faded lenses (expected!).In the car is a late Ke20 grille (schmick), Ke20 console slight damage, Ke20 front door windows, most of the heater demister under dash and the steering column was there. There was absolutely nothing left of the body, except early Ke20 taillights, most rust I've ever seen on a Ke20!!!

It was a good day despite the weather. I was happy to see a few old school rollas there. Here are a few of my pics
-
Yeah I'm definitely going. Been waiting for ages, hopefully there's a few old school rolla's there! I will try and put some pics up .

Yeah Kandos is a great weekend. It is a very laid back show. I have been there the last 6-7 years, and helped my father-in-law judge the show n shine for last 4 years. They get some good quality cars and there always seems to be a corolla or two up there. I highly recommend attending.

Any Qualified Spray Painters On Here?
KE04AG replied to KE30_KE35_KE55's topic in Automotive Discussion
Sorry mate, just thought of something! Try giving it a cut with 1500 wet and dry and buffing it. 80% of the time this will work if the pin holes aren't too deep. -

I am a painter with 12 years exp. I think by looking at the pics it is more than likely solvent boil, caused by either mixing different brands paint, temperature too hot (it dries quicker, so you are applying too heavy to get it to flow out, but that then causes heavy film build). If it was a silicone based problem it would happen straight away. Solvent boil can take a few hours or a day to appear. If you don't rub it out properly the first time it will always appear in the paint no matter how many times you repaint it. When temps are that high try to use the slowest hardener and thinners you can. Hope this helps. Good luck with it. -
Thanks mate. The glass looks like it is in really good condition if its original! Have you got any engine or interior shots? Your car is a real credit to you mate.
-
That looks very nice mate. Good work. Just wondering if your windows are all new? And where did you get them if they are. I know you can get front and rear screens but was wondering if the side glass is new? Thanks mate.

Far out that is schmick dude! Is the colour Ford Blueprint? Sure looks like it. I think white trim will really suit it. It will be a bugger to keep clean though if a daily driver. (talking from experience). Keep us posted with progress.
-
Good luck with it mate. Yes there is some pics of my project in the Ke20 members section and "My Ke20 4age project" thread. Have you got new or reconditioned chrome work for it? Hope to hear good news soon mate!
-
That's a nice clean rolla you have there mate. Love the colour (its the same as my ke20). How did you go today?
-
Nah mate, they are still there. It's just a crap photo!
-
I found some time today to play with the car. I trial fitted the crystal headlights, now just have to get new screws and clips to fit them. We also fitted the alloy fuel cap and the boot, rear bumper and taillights. Here is a photo. Sorry about the quality of the pic - I used my phone.

What a race! Lowndes and Whincup do it again. I thought it was quite an exciting race, especially the last 20 laps. Anyone could of won. I agree with you kangaroosa, support the drivers not the cars as they are pretty much identical now anyway. Anyway, it was a great race and I was on the edge of my seat thats for sure.
-
Good work mate! All these turbo 4age Ke20's are making me kind of wish I went that way with mine. Keep it up!

HIGHROLLER, my front suspension is nothing radical. I've just got standard struts with Pedders springs, Koni shocks and all nolathane bushes throughout. The steering is all brand new. As you have seen it is all smoothed and painted!
