  1. mmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm SEXY!!!!!!! :D
  2. I thought the info on early Celicas to be really interesting. How about that oddball ass camper-wagon thing? They built some funny stuff!
  3. After searching for a long time to try and find some interchangeable rear end parts for my te27, I found this site. http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/stepho/diff.htm It takes you straight to rear ends, but check the rest of the site out, its got lots of info on JDM parts, and a brief history of toyota.
  4. I need a digital camera really f'ing bad... The only thing that worries me is that the rust comes close to the rear windshield weather stripping, so if I cut a little too much, and my welds aren't really good, I risk junking the car... I'll try and post up some pics as soon as I get my hands on a digi. thanks for the advice. Oh ya, how do I drench a weld without risking the integrity of my beads, and how much water are we talking about here? I have never welded on anything smaller than 10 guage steel before :D
  5. I have a cancer hole in the roof of my beat down te27, and was wondering if any of you have done any sheetmetal work or would have any suggestions. The hole is about the size of a thumb, and goes all the way through. I was thinking of just cutting that section out and either welding or pop-riveting another piece of tin over the cut-out section... what do you think?
  6. Super Jaime hit the nail on the head... rev up the engine, engage the tranny and FLY! MWAHAHAHAHA
  7. Yes, powerglides are two speed automatics. As far as I know, anything with a torque converter would be considered an automatic... I personally have not seen an air-shifted transmission out of the car it came in though, but it seems like it would be closer to a manual, because the ones I am thinking of have levers coming out of the dash corresponding to each gear... you just keep pulling levers untill you run out of gear :D
  8. Really? Even better then... Has anyone dropped a 2JZGTE into a rolla? That would be a MONSTER!!!
  9. Is that car FWD or RWD?
  10. Whatup CUCY, I've seen you on toyota3t-c.com. Nice to have another "yank" posting here with me!! =)
  11. I hear that rotaries are pretty big in Puerto Rico too. If I was going to get rid of my 3t-c I like the prospects of a 13bt in my mango... You gotta love a motor that putts out over 200 bhp and is light enough to pick up without any help =) I know that you guys in Australia got Mazda Cosmos, have any of the old school toyota guys over there swapped in 20b's into their cars? Talk about a wolf in sheep's clothing ;)
  12. DDDDAMN, that sounds like my kind of car!!! With my luck, I would wind up dead or without a liscence in a week with that kind of power to weight... CUCY, thanks for your .02, I think I'm gonna stick with the 3t-c for a while and see what she'll do. I like the idea of going fast with an old ass engine =)
  13. =) WOW, that is a really nice car!! Clean 240sx-Sil80 conversions are really rare over here. I am sure his is the real deal though, because you bastards get all the cool cars and we were stuck with the KA24 powered turd which mostly only came with auto ;)
  14. BTW, Super Jaime has a point. If you look at american NHRA dragsters at least, you will see that all of the outlaws and up all run 3 speed or 4 speed autos, or they run air shifters. Its hard to get off the line with 700 horsepower and a clutch without igniting the back tires untill they blow! The cars with air shifters get away with it because they ride the clutch all the way down the track, part of the reason that their engines sound like they stay at the same revvs the whole way down the track.
  15. Autos are gay unless they have shitloads of power =) I got to drive a 99 Corvette that was an auto... It would have been better if I could shift it but that car had obscene amounts of power, it felt like driving a guided missile!!
  16. What bumms me out though, is that I looked and looked for an AE86 for like 3 months, and the ones that were for sale were up for like $5000-$6000. On top of that, I would have to drive halfway up the friggin coast to get it! It seems over here you have to buy american or be really patient to get a cool RWD car, or buy a beat up 240sx and do the SR20DET swap...
  17. Nice car Super Jaime... I gotta give props to datsun too, My brother had a 1969 Datsun 510 with a moderately built L20B, at the time I drove a 1993 Eagle Talon tsi AWD with intake, exhaust and a ported head; he would smoke me on rolling starts, untill his car got stolen. Thats Los Angeles for you I guess.
  18. Almost forgot... TE-27's are super rare in the states, as I have only seen one other in my life. Most toyota people here on the states drive older celicas, TE-72's, Hachi's, and for the old car crowd, TE-37's and KE series cars. There are a few other people on the other site I post on with TE-27's but most people don't have them. I must say that I am kind of jealous of you guys over there. You have a beautiful country, hotttt women, a government that doesn't want to take over the world, and rare ass cars guys here in the states would kill for. I would love to see Cossies, Skylines and older EVO's over here!!!!
  19. That would be cool Super Jaime, but this car was purchased for $400 american and all I want to do to it is make it into a sleeper. I'll post some pictures of the car in a few days or so, so you guys can laugh at it... Theres rust everywhere, even a cancer hole through the roof! I intend on it looking like crap, but being fast on a budget.
  20. The motor was swapped two owners ago... My car has been passed around like a korean ho. The swap is not very good, as I need to rewire the whole thing (two fires that I know of) but I am sure it is a 3t-c.
  21. When I bought my te27, it came with a 3t-c, and it seems pretty gutless. Granted it needs a good once over to run at the glory it once did, would it even be worth the money to hop this motor up or should I look elsewhere for power?
  22. Thank you for all of the help demuire, Ill have to go scrap yarding this weekend.
  23. Yes, the differential says T- something, but the sticker is quite worn. BTW, nice car
  24. Nope, from San Diego, mate... Which early celicas came with this diff center? Old celicas are all over the place over here, seeing as I am only 20 minutes from the Mexican border. By the way, what is a T18?
  25. Hey everybody, I have this te27 that I want to get rolling again. I recently blew the STOCK differential out and I have been unable to find a replacement 3rd member, so I am stuck with finding a junkyard replacement and custom mounting it... Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be an effective low cost fix?
