  1. Thanks for that Tiger was having a little trouble deciphering that myself :)
  2. HEY HEY...........I been away searching for the last two little things I need to finish my car, time & money and I have finally found one of them, unfortunately its time and not money  Anyway BBQ sounds good, I will be doing everything in my power to get the rolla rollin so I can bring her there, more likely I'll be there in a car of a different brand, but I'll park it a long way away and walk down :) Cheers
  3. This little black duck gives the new skyline the big  As stated rear quarter looks Ok but the front does not.
  4. I'll have one of THESE thanks :lmao:
  5. I have a feeling you may be right Rollin. If we are talking about a K engine here then ther are only 2 bolts that hold the rocker cover on, at least in my very limited experience, and they are only 10 or 12 mill in size. Then there a number of bolts under the rocker cover that you need to remove to take the head off, again only 12 mill in size. The 14 mill bolts you are undoing don't need to be undone to take off the rocker cover or the head. Of course I could be completely wrong but thats the impression that it get.
  6. Sorry to drag this post out of the past but I just received a call from my dad who had his ummm...errrr.......VS Holden Commodore serviced by the local mechanic and as he was leaving got handed a brochure about this fuel catalyst thingy. Now reading through the above post excluding all the crap about Brocky and his magic polariser :( I get the sense that most people think these things are a waste of good $$$$$$ My first response was "if these things are so wonderful why arent the factories fitting them and I wouldnt be messing with computer controlled fuel delivery etc etc" but I thought I would come to the fountain of automotive knowledge and ask the panel of experts :D :hmm:  So has there been any change in the opinion that they are a waste of dinero since April 05???????
  7. Hey Hey congrats m8.....and also to your good lady wife. and Felix my kids are 11 & 12 and they still wake me up in the morning fighting over playstation so I don't think it ever gets better
  8. I used to love that show I even went to see them make the show a few times.......that was one of the best.shows.ever
  9. You mean something like this minus the sunbeam
  10. I'm down for some GoKart action. Havent driven one of those little critters for about 16 years now so I think it's time. Port Melb or Moorabbin either is fine by me. Also might be worth checking out this mob Ace Karts They are out in sunshine and it's an outdoor track. Never been there but it's just another option.
  11. I know its off topic and I know its got 4 too many cylinders and I know its a Holden, but you said a 1000 hp drift car would be interesting. Here it is or so he claims. CLICKY CLICKY DRIFTY DRIFTY Oh and back on topic..................NIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEE
  12. I'm a lane splitter.......but only when the traffic is stopped at traffic lights etc. Flicking through moving traffic will only get you to your destination a couple of minutes early however riding past 20 cars backed up at traffic lights and taking off infront of them all saves you a heap of time with much less risk. :jamie:
  13. LOL.......I don't know how many times I've said "One of these days I'm gonna buy a $100 car and just drive around smashing into idiots that think the road rules are for everyone else" Glad to see I'm not the only one with those thoughts ;)
  14. I don't mean to break the flow of creative juices flowing through this thread but I just gotta say this thread is blowing my mind. Just amazing stuff there Banjo and I can't wait to see pics of Xany's completed project.........again just an amazing amount of talent on show. :P
  15. ROFL...........It was a nightmare running the leads to the plugs I can tell ya :P
  16. :P :bash: :y: :P :D    I got it started.........who cares if it sounds like a dying tractor and that the charge light stays on..........it started     Now its time to clean up the wiring, adjust timing etc. so that it doesnt sound like a tractor, replace altinator and the list goes on. Heres a tip for those rebuilding their engine.....make sure you put the distributor back in the right way ;)
  17. The starter is turning and power is going to the coil, the issue is/was I'm getting no spark. Update Spark problem solved......after fiddling around with wires, disconnecting a few, reconnecting others tracing others around the engine bay and unwrapping 40 kms of electrical tape I now have spark at all 4 cyl. Still wont start though. I have a hunch about why it's still not starting and if my hunch is correct then I'll feel like a right idiot and will never be able to show my face here again. :D
  18. LOL your absolutely right, if he hadnt of moved the battery to the back I probably wouldnt have the wiring issues I've got now. :D
  19. Update Found a spare hour in my busy Saturday and decided to play my favorite game, "Whats under the electical tape" =) Boot at the start Time for "Whats under the electrical tape" this is the positive lead from the battery. Removing the tape revealed this A bit of cutting, drilling and we now have a battery firmly in place with nice looking cable running to & from the battery, earthed to the chassis and no exposed cable showing anywhere And finally the finished boot :D Tommorrow we tackle the engine bay
  20. I made it accross the river but now I'm stuck in the goshdarn crimson room. I hate these games but I just can't seen to stop playing them :jamie:
  21. OK some pics as promised Unwrapped a heap of black electrical tape and found this. Note the exposed wires, especially the thick red one which you can see connected to nothing down near the altinator heres some more wires that don't connect to anything the positive battery terminal in the boot this is the bolt that holds on the bumper which also served as the eath point for the battery in the boot don't even look under the dash away from the wiring heres a tip for those with a choke cable that doesnt work........2hb pencil and finally my patented racing seats with specially designed speed tears :(
  22. Hmmm a 5K powered suzuki sierra................I think I know what my next project is gonna be when I finish the Ke30. Now all I need to do is find a place to store it and convince the missus that it's a GOOD idea :(
  23. Update...........I decided to play around with a few wires over the weekend before undertaking the task of a rewire, I really need to hear the rolla start. 3 recharged batteries later I finally got a spark at the plugs just as the battery went flat for the 4th time. I'll get some pics up tonight of the incredibly professional job the previous owner did with the wiring when he relocated the battery to the boot.
  24. I bought the ke30 2dr in September 2004 transported it on a trailer to my garage and left it. It sat untouched until in May this year I finally got my lazy ass out to the garage and started having a look at what I could do. It needed a whole new interior but I figured an engine refresh was the first thing to do so that at least I could drive it around while I slowly fixed the interior. So I stripped it down to the block, had the cam reground, obtained a 3k head as it had a 4k head on it :D as has been documented elsewhere on this site. Meticulously cleaned the head and reseated the valves, obtained a inlet manifold due to the existing one being cracked, cleaned that up so it was shiney as the head and finally I put it all back together. Brand new plugs, points, dist cap, coil, leads to go with the nice clean head, inlet manifold and new cam. Taking great care to make sure everything was adjusted just like the gregorys says and all the nuts and bolts were put back in the same holes they came out of. I then pulled off the spark plug leads and hooked up a freshly charged old battery and turned the motor over until the battery was flat to get the oil flowing, changed over to a new battery reconnected the leads and sat for a moment preparing for what would undoubtable be the greatest moment of my life.....the starting of MY corolla, the car I had spent the last few months painstakingly pulling apart and putting back together, spending freezing cold Melbourne winter nights in the garage while the family sat inside the warm house looking at me out the window shaking their heads at the stupidity of their husband/father. I open the choke, turn the key, step on the go pedal and............................. It wont start sob So I kicked the dog punched the wife and went inside and drank myself into a coma. Nah just kidding. I began checking and established that there is no spark from the coil. When the ignition is on there is power to the coil as when I disconnect the ignition wire it sparks but as soon as I turn the starter there is no power. So I figure I'll follow a few wires and see if they are earthed properly or maybe loose and what do I discover.........I got wires that don't go anywhere, aren't connected to anything and some that actually loop around and connect back to themselves :) The more electrical tape I unwrapped the worse it became. It appears that the previous owner when he moved the battery to the boot decided that he obviously didnt need to connect all the wires back up and threw in a few extra ones for good measure. So at 9.00pm on Saturday night I closed the bonnet and the garage door and walked away. I have yet to decide whether or not to attempt to trace this myself or call in an expert...........just how hard is it to totally rewire a ke30????????????
  25. Hey NiteP]-[yRe do you have the link for that NASA one. I have been meaning to look at that for ages.
