  1. Well I got lucky yesterday :) A KE55 gearbox mount fits very nicely with the T50. I used the two rear bolt holes and had to widen the center hole a couple of milimeters. Mount the exhaust tomorrow and than off for the tailshaft and wiring.
  2. My mechanic has organised me custom extractors for a 3TC from Hurricane in Sydney and its around $260 including deliver to Adelaide I think. Might help for comparison :) He was told they didn't make extractors for T-Series anyone (even tried the 2TG), but fortunately they where prepared to make a one off for us.
  3. Well I got told today that the Extractors won't be here till next Wednesday. Thanks to Hurricane doing a special order and custom making a set as a favour for the mechanic, setting me back a nice $200 +. Therefore since there a one off for the engine, I am also looking into HPC coating for it. Might seem pointless, but I like doing it once and doing it right. Still got to mount the gearbox properly to, just lucky enough that the shifter position lines up. Also got new master and slave cyclinder going in :(
  4. KE30 one mate and it doesn't fit quite well. Will show pictures when Fisher hands over the photos . . .
  5. Well . . . the engine is in :( Looking pretty good to :n: Thermo housing done, plug for emmisons outlet done, gaskets for carbies and exhaust have been found, extractors are being custom made in Sydney by Hurricane, and found the correct hoses for the water pump / radiator. Gearbox shifter position didn't line up properly. Solution . . . T18 T-50 bellhousing with a TA22 T-50 gearbox and it worked a treat. Now I just need a custom gearbox mount to work with the TA22 gearbox. Another problem, Webers don't fit properly, they hit the brake booster. Pictures up soon, but if anyones got any suggestions I'm all ears. Also thinking of a T-Series diff shortened a little before I get the tailshaft shortened. Lastly I am thinking of playing with AE86 struts in the front instead of RA40 with camber tops. If it doesn't work out I will just send it to the race car. Cheers Fusion . . . pictures up soon :)
  6. Talk to turbo rolla in SA. He's currently in negotiation with the transport pirates about a 4AGE into a KE70. They said yes apprently, but will need a list of things complied to for it to be certain.
  7. Upgrade! I got 14" x 7" Jelly Beans from Ebay for around $60 due to buggered tyres. Not much dish, but I'm not complaining :D. Theres lots a 13" Jellies or Hotwires on Ebay to  Either that or go all out and get some Challengers from AJPS that are 14" x 8".
  8. All front pulleys, alternator brace, fan, lower gearbox mounts and engine mounts have been completly bead blasted and painted black enamel by myself. And the mechanic decided to pull out a can of Toyota blue enamel and paint my bottom end  The sump has been painted black also, while the rocker cover got a real good (read sitting for 30 minutes) bead blasting until it came to a natural shine. Had to order in another water pump hose for the right angle, new gaskets for exhaust, carby and rocker cover, and need to find a coil and ignitor for the distributor. Sadly one of the welsh plugs didn't look to friendly so they will be replaced (both of them). The mechanic also hinted at machining the flywheel a little lighter . . . And hopefully extractors will arrive on Friday. So all in all if all comes by Friday, the engine will be in the car with the gearbox, extractors and Webers. That leaves the custom tailshaft, exhaust, radiator, thermo fan, thermostat, gearbox shifter position, wiring and hydraulic clutch setup. In other news RA40 struts were put in, with a few mishaps. Just means the mechanics sorting out customs springs (and rates) for the fronts and resseting the rear leaves. And the bushes are slowly being replaced aswell. So much done . . . yet so much still to do *sigh* Cheers Fusion
  9. Most likely can't make it until later in the day, but if anyones up for a hills run in the late arvo / night and either cars ready Fisher and I could be keen :P Lets see if anyones up for that after
  10. Get it powder coated I say :P A rally mate got his EFI manifold setup powder coated to make it look like standard and it only costed him $40. It look nice and stock and no blemishes. Looked like and awesome job from the state he sent it in for only $40 :jamie:
  11. How much money do you have to play with? Thats what is all going to depend on what you do. I'm guessing your budget isn't to bad if your thinking of coilovers. And idea would be AE86 coilovers ready made, either that or custom RA60, even T18 would work. Rear T series diff would work to, I know a place to get them for a decent price if you like. Fender braces can be bought to stiffen up the front end and strut braces like you have suggested. Than you just need to look at four links and thicker sway bars. Where are you thinking of reducing weight? There wouldn't be many places you could do it with a road registered car in SA without the cops knowing unfortunately. Upgrading your brakes may mean upgrading rims though remember, and remeber to change all your bushes if your chaning over your handling gear. Do it once, do it properly I say :P Are you keeping the stock motor? Or using another? Going N/A or turbo / SC ? Cheers Fusion
  12. Will soon, the KE30 is actually a little dirty atm from sitting at the workshop. Should get the doorcards in and carpet soon with all the stereo, but that will have to wait until the engine is done. And cheers for the comment  Like your saying, I just couldn't stand the 3K power for to much longer without a little more oomph, so to speak. So when this motor came up and TazRX's crossmember at the sametime . . . I just couldn't resist :P Might take a picture of the engine tonight with the new stuff applied if i can
  13. Decided while I'm at it, might aswell clean up the engine. Firstly a brand new waterpump. Japan Toyota wanted $350 . . . so gratefully the mechanic found one in Perth for just $110 :P Mechanic didn't like the idea of changing points . . . so he bought me a electronic distributor  And I will also be getting the engine a bit of a steam clean and degresser with a full engine flush within the next week. Finally the Webers have been fitted to a manifold that was found for $80 and the linkage kit has started its process. Got to love havng a bead blaster handy !!

Spotted a white E7 in Broadview tonight with stock front rims and rear hotwires. Rollaclub sticker on the back and I think he works at the local KFC :P Wondering who it is though . . .
  17. Cameron is right (US of A had them :P ), but just to make sure get the facts, show them to the authorites that may be and check it all up. If it all goes through you would want to make sure that you keep the motor stock and clean for an easier pass, especially with emissions control. At least I think so . . . :) Also to coln72's post I have also made sure that the increase in power got an increase in break power with Celica front brake conversion and KE55 drums in the rear. This also meant for a rim size upgrade to 14" rims.
  18. Bah all this K-Series talk . . . 3TC here in a KE30. Looking to get it rebuilt after the tax return, but decided to stick with some external basics. For now : electronic distributor, twin 38mm Webers, extractors and thermo fan with new leads, spark plugs, hoses, hose claps and even replaced some bolts. Gearbox came with a Xtreme Clutch plate with about 30% wear for free so I also have that running. The T18 has a shorter shifter than the AE71 it seems so that also came with it. Likewise I had to change the clutch to hydraulic also. Later on : keeping to the N/A side of things for now, but I wouldn't mind forced induction at one stage :) Its already 1.8L, but theres always room for more . . . . :P
  19. Well slowly, but surely bits and bobs are being sorted when the KE30 isn't hogging attention |blink| Went to the rally workshop tonight and picked up a Velo 5 point racing seat in new condition for around $300, just need custom mounting for it now. Nice and snug, and I'm around 6'3 and a skinny bastard. Fisher got excited by my T18 shorter shifter stick and decided to apprently "borrow" it for this car. Its only temporary as were looking into better solutions for a shorter shift. Exhaust was cut half way, just after a mounting point, ready for a 45 to 90 degree angle pipe to be welded so it sticks out the side of the car. Boy does it sound nice now with only one resinator, I felt like a boy in a candy shop ;) Heres a little incert to what it sounds like now if your keen to download it (300KB) :hmm: AE71 Exhaust Note Also worked on removing the rest of the emissons control pipes and crap. We also bought a 320mm Momo, but the ol' man reckons it won't work to well . . . bummer. And we might not be using the Eaton after all . . . yet again the ol' man reckons were better off for ease of mounting with the use of a SC12 or SC14 . . . he might be right, but us being young still think bigger is always better :) Sorry in advance if theirs any crappy spelling . . . Peace out . . . Fusion
  20. Well thanks to "MadMax" engine was sold in a smooth transaction. Also picked up twin 38mm Webers that were rebuilt roughly 6 months ago with ram tubes and red socks for around $300. Manifold should be found this week also. Crossmember came aswell from TaxRX . . . and I must say awesome customer service, couldn't of been better ;) Bead blasted it myself today to the bare metal and got the mechanic to fix up all the welds with a bit of seeming (nothing to much). Goes off for painting tomorrow hopefully :) Extractors I will get the mechanic to order tomorrow also so than the main thing left is the custom tailshaft. So hopefully I can start cleaning up the engine on wednesday / thursday and than start slowly building it all up with bead blasting and painting of certain parts. Won't be the best engine around, but with the work me and Fisher have put into it . . . lets just say I have learnt a bucket load |blink|
  21. Make it a Sunday *cough cough* more chance off not working |blink|
  22. Hmm thinking of putting a RA23 or TA22 diff into my KE30 so I'll be keen to hear how you go, as far as I know the main thing is getting the leaf spring mounts welded on properly and hoping it has swaybar mounts for added advantages.
  23. Sounds like T18 bumpers, I have heard its alot easier when you have the T18 bumper brackets aswell. Get a manual before extractors I say :) And get a head unit for hooking up the speakers?
  24. If you spend money on this . . you can just transplant it to the new shell :)
  25. Diff might not be in the greatest condition by the sounds of it if the car has oil leaks. Could be wrong though :)
