Nice build up so far  In regards to doors I think your allowed to cut out with intrusion bars, if you are welding in CAM's approved side intrusion bars, however you will still need door trims. With Fishers corolla at the moment, we are planning on cutting the intrusion bars on the inside of the doors of, windows winders uninstalled, and using corflute for door trims. Similar to this car we are also using persplex for the windows, besides the front one. However as Redwarf has stated in Rally you cannot use persplex at all and alot more of the interior has to be kept.

Would the 22R be to big for the KE25 engine bay being mindful of the radiator clearance and brake booster? Just thinking that it might even be easier to find a 7K engine in SA, as you just may be able to change the engine numbers around than.
-
If I understand correctly your in SA. Therefore I am pretty sure it isn't legal. Your going from a 1.2L (correct?) to a 2.4L. You would have to check with an engineer (think theres a few in the Prospect area), but that would be my understanding. If it was legal you would have to do some serious mods to handling (ie. brakes, suspension etc). Why not see if you can get a 2TG or a 3TC. Sleeka Spares (sp?) in Pooraka (I think?) should be able to help you out. You have a better chance of getting a stock T series motor engineered and through rego than a 22R in my opinion. A little tired so bare with me :nervous: Cheers Fusion

Like 2TGEU said . . . money comes first, always need to know you can build the car instead of realizing part of the way through . . . its going to take you another 5 years. You might like to start at small events first. Best thing to do is to join a club in your local area. Do things like practise days and motorkanas, see if your still keen to get into it. After that maybe some hillclimb events. And like Lesley said, theres a bit you need to look into in the way you "build up" your car. Rally might cost you more than just starting on the smaller events like motorkanas and hillclimbs. Just beware of that. I know a guy selling his WRX completely built for rally for around $100k if your interested :nervous: Cheers Fusion

Damn thats what I want for my rolla . . . if you see anymore Tax . . . you know who to make a profit off :nervous:

I think that the shifter point on a KE70 K50 sits further back, nearer to the tailshaft entry, than a KE55 K50, so you may have problems with shifter position lining up
-
lol ek61's signature says the 31st of March. Glad to see that you won it Lesley, hope it wasn't as stressful as the last event :hmm:
-
Hmm well as projects go there always something stopping you . . . :hmm: Tailshaft from the KE30 manual fit in like a charm to the TA22 T50, however there was little play, therefore I am getting it shorted by 20mm just to be on the safe side. Hurricane decided to ring up after 2 weeks and notify us that it wouldn't be ready for another month :y: So the mechanic decided to go with another brand . . Twister . . Tornado? Thanks to having the TA22 gearbox now I need a shifter for it. Also still on the look for a coil and ignitor. Everything is going ok though. Gearbox is hard mounted with clutch plate and flywheel. Starter motor is installed and I have started on the wiring. Also still looking into the RX7 AE86 strut conversion, but it will probally end up in the track car in the end. Cheers Fusion

Any tips for clearing the brake booster with a twin carby setup? By the looks of it you have dropped the engine in the bay a little, but did this clear the front swaybar properly? I think I may of had issues there with the 3TC :hmm: And nice choice of rims, suit it very nicely :D

A Warning To Those Wanting To Race At Lakeside

Raven heard of the new motorsport park that is planned to open in Port Adelaide. Stage 1 begins in 3 months at a cost of $25 million :D -
Sounds good, should most likely be there with Fisher
-
Ouch, firstly are you two ok after that? Secondly hows the drivetrain? I'm guessing the car shell can't be fixed to easily?
-
Hm should it be moved thanks to the drift boys a week forward?
-
can't be there unless its a Sunday or late Saturday arvo (ie meet up with you guys later on). Could have the E30 ready by than . . . .
-
You wouldn't be able to take some time out and post a picture or two showing what you have done could you Jono? I got problems with twin 3TC Webers ram tubes hitting the brake booster.
-
Soooo agree, picked up some 300w 6 x 9's for the rear for $40 and boy did they pump nicely by themselves with the pioneer headunit And whats awesome about midyear stocktake . . . midyead tax time :no2:

All Japanese Day - Adelaide, Sunday 27th April, 08....

lol Raven people travel from past Claire for our fruit and veg. Even further sometimes, all because our boss gets nothing but the best he can :sob: -
I think its to do with Googles search engine. If the website has been coded properly, search engines like Google sort of sift through the website and enter in results into their search databse. It just means that when you search for corolla stuff in Google, you will most likely see Rollaclub entries in the mix.

OMG :no2: I swear that guy Merv comes into my Fruit and Veg store in North Adelaide alot :sob: I'm so asking the guy I think it is if he owns a KE11 -
Manifold gasket? If your talking about when you attach the exhaust headers to the engine block, the metal gasket that sandwiches in-between?

Any One Keen On A Rolla Cruise In Adelaide Tonite ????
fusion replied to ke70kid's topic in The Event Archive
Make sure we don't add Port Adelaide into the mix . . way to hot lately. Another stadium you could add into the mix is Hindmarsh? Main problem is its a bit harder for the folk of South Road way -

I don't like the look of this one bit! Way to many E7's for my liking :hmm: -
The engine block: High up top-down view on my shoulders :hmm: Clearance issues :jamie: Talking to KE30 racing driver about this atm. He used an interesting idea to combat this it seems And all credit to Fisher for pictures!!

Cheers mate. It seems that I may be changing direction with the front struts. Might be putting in AE86 struts, LCA's and Steering arms with Cusco camber tops. This way if for some reason later on I want to go RX7 calipers or coilovers its going to be alot easier. However me and the mechanic are still deciding what to do. Also looking into ADR approved interior, as I am planning to get this thing enginered if possible in the future. Yet again I am in talks with the mechanic about this. Another edition to the car is being looked into aswel . . . swaybars front and rear and maybe even a strut brace if I get carried away. Now that the majority of the driveline is finished I am focussing on all the handling components. Was tempted for a T-Series diff, but yet again that will be looked into in the future if I really want bigger rear brakes or LSD. In regards to the body I am thinking of maybe using part of my tax return to finace it, as I don't think the enginering will go to well with very slight rust in the engines firewall appearing.
