  1. Your choice of wheels could be a factor to consider :)
  2. Probally away for a Rally, but if I'm not I will see what I can do :lolcry:
  3. The 2TG came out of the TA22 GT series, LT series had 2TC engines (single cam, single carby etc). They cost over $1000 rebuilt, but can be picked up for around $300 at lowest for an engine in need of rebuilding. They can make over 130KW, just with a slightly ported and polished top end.
  4. Soundstream vs Sony . . . I know whose I'm going for and whose going to hurt my wallet the most. They pump well when in action though :( Go through the same place you got your sub setup for the Sound Off ?
  5. If I remeber correctly your putting a 4AGE into a KE30 / 55. Pretty sure they won't like it. Tips would be: - Brakes upgraded, but try to keep standard. - All new bushes - Keep engine standard. All emisions, no sport exhaust. - Make sure you don't have rust in the shell . . . they don't like that to much at all. - Try to keep the interior standard unless advised by an engineer. - Have reciepts for all custom manifolds or mounts. Have proof of professional workmanship - See with engineer about upgrades to handling . . ie thicker swaybars or strutbraces. - I think they like stock ECU's a little more than aftermarket, at least I have heard from a couple of accounts it can be easier to get through with one. Its not going to be easy, but you may have a chance. Maybe the guy in SA whose doing a KE70 4AGE through Regncy may be able to help you :) Cheers Fusion (sorry if its a little blurry . . a little sleepy) PS: Cheers Raven . . . so checking him out one day :S
  6. Thats so hot . . . . :poke:
  7. Hmm saw this on ebay and thought it might be of some use . . . 4A Clubman Cheers Fusion
  8. I'm pretty sure you have a KE30 / 55 ? Why not talk to someone like Sleeka Spares. Last time I enquired they had ra28 or ta22 diffs with tailshafts for around $150 - $200. You will probally need to modify the tailshaft length / splines (not to sure about splines) which will be around $300 - $400. Main thing it will give you extra track, not heeps, but it could be noticable enough. Also you need to get the leaf springs mounted on if you do have the above model. Benefits of a TA22 some have swaybar mounts, therefore the added benefit of a swaybar! Also its easier to get an LSD or locker if ever needed. Cheers Fusion
  9. Love . . . its getting a bigger engine! Hate . . . its can't be done quick enough for my liking! :POSTPICS!:
  10. I know at some workshops they just use the sill panels. The very edge underneath the middle guards. It might cramp them a little bit, but nothing huge (or at least of what I have seen). Might want to check that though before trying it as I have always tried to used my leaf spring mount or chassis rail. I like how the car is coming along btw :POSTPICS!: Very . . . clean dare I say it
  11. Do what I have seen on many Mini's. Take a drill to it and make it swiss cheese. Just be very careful when opening doors . . . there very very flexible. Latest one I came across was picked up by two people :POSTPICS!:
  12. Yeah thats what I ended up using. However I do suggest if you want to clear the brake cyclinder, that you make sure you get it done properly with a engine dummy fit before making it all up and finalised. Otherwise you won't like it when it comes to clearing the gap
  13. Ok I can help here. Heres a few pointers that I have found from putting a 3TC into a KE30. 1) You might not need to change radiator at all. Mines brand new and will be fine for the 3TC. However with the top radiator hose you will need a custom cooling pipe to reach it. Heres a picture from a 2TG in a AE71 (look in the thread). AE71 2TG 2) You will need custom engine mounts. I would suggest you try and get it so it slightly angles towards the passenger side. This is due to the fact that your running twin carbies. If you don't you 'will' have clearance issues. 3) You may also have clearance issues with the master cyclinder. I was advised by Toyota (Peter Kittle I think) to use an RA60 master cyclinder. It worked great as it is really short. 4) Use a crossmember from a KE55 manual and a crossmember from some T50 ran car (I used a T18 one) so they engineer can make your custom mount. My mechanic did it really neatly and it took him bugger all time. 5) Hydraulic conversion can be done quite easily. My mechanic used the stock pedal box and shaved a little from the clutch side of things to fit the master cyclinder. A round hole and two bolt holes will need to be made, but its not hard yet again. 6) Are you running electronic or points? Electronic is better, but can be a litte hard to come by. 7) Use a T50 with a middle shifter point, not an ending shifter point. Use a T50 from a TA22 as it will go in the stock shifter hole perfectly. 8) If you need parts talk to 'Sleeka Spares' in Pooraka I think. Dave should be the guy to talk to as he helped me out plently with parts for T series engines. 9) 2TG's can be found, but they will need to be rebuilt with new gaskets at least. This can be costly, at an estimate around the $500 mark or less for gaskets alone. At least this is what a mate paid near for 18RGEU full gasket kit recently. 10) You may want to think about a brake or suspension upgrade as the 2TG will benefit from it. 11) You may need to customize your tailshaft. A KE30 stock tailshaft fits, but with my personal conversion we cut off 2mm for slight shaft play. 12) Second hand extractors usually aren't to hard to source, but brand new extractors will generally be custom made or around the $300 + mark. You would be looking at a 2" system. There is a bit to modify, as there is to any engine conversion, but it will be well worth it. Big thing is though make sure you have the money for it! Roughly have around $2000 I would say to cover everything. It could be more, it could be less depending on how much you do off it on your own. If you need anymore help just ask as I have played around a fair bit with T series engines lately  Cheers Fusion EDIT: Just remebered seeing this in the trading post. Not a bad price at all. If you have some spare money maybe look into getting it port and polished as the 2TG will love it ;) 2TG Trading Post

    Cruise

Hmm to get a few more people maybe make a date in say 2 weeks. Only because I know that this week might be short notice and next week there is drift practice on the saturday and mothers day on the sunday. So roughly I think it would be say either the 16th of May, Friday night or 17th of May Saturday night. If you make it for around those dates I just might bring out the newly aquired KE70
  15. Master cyclinder is in with a stock pedal box :lolcry: It looks awesome with only a slight shaving to the left side. I now have added a single Weber manifold and a 2 / 3TB twin stock manifold to my collection. Thats three now to play around with. Also thinking of shorter ram tubes (16mm) however they will cost around $200  So pretty much everything is sorted, including the custom water cooling pipes. Radiator isn't being modified anymore, however it was a tight bend for the top radiator hose, so that had to be modified aswell as. Last thing to do is check everything and finsh a couple of wires. Also I just got some JDM AE86 struts with 8kg springs, corona LCAS, AE86 steering arms, camber tops (still to come), new rotors and rebuilt calipers. Should hold up the front end nicely as I didn't really like playing with the RA40 struts
  16. Well electronic 3TC coil and igniter has been found. BIG thanks to 'Sleeka Spares' for the help. Extractors have been fitted, looks like a 2" with one muffler for now until we decide to silence it, if need be. Radiator is being modified a little for mounting points of the hoses and thermo fan setup. Tailshaft is back and installed, so exhaust next week maybe. Gear shifter from a TA22 was found and installed with 5 speed gear knob. Using RA60 master cylinder for hydraulic clutch conversion with a T18 clutch pedal box (mechanics idea, needs a little modifying) Oil filter, leads and spark plugs are sitting around and waiting to be installed when ready for full oil drain and tune up. So it seems all parts have been found, its mainly just wiring the engine for it to fire, after the clutch has been setup properly. Webers still don't fit . . . might be going twin down draft or single side draft. Just to make things easier. Cheers Fusion
  17. Studs are pretty easy to take out with the right tools. Just need a socket - stud adapter (don't know the official title) around ~8mm and a ratchet. Ask your mechanic if he has the right tool :)
  18. Its ok . . . last time I took the KE30 on a cruise the front brakes locked up and we missed a car by millimetres . . . just ask Fisher :D
  19. Lets do a manual conversion friday night *cough cough*
  20. Fisher should have his Celica finished . . . so this time we should be there
  21. NP. Hope to see progress pictures
  22. Google is your friend  AJPS
  23. Why not take out the parts for powder coating. I could reccomend a guy who did some efi manifolds for a rally guy I know. Costed him like $40 aswell and it looked pretty neat
  24. You will need a custom gearbox crossmember. And if its only $500 thats not bad at all, if its done all properly. Pretty reasonable I would reckon. Does that include a service and tune up? To me it sounds like its going in a KE55? If your diff breaks later on, you may need to look into an ra or ta series diff with welded leaf mounts and another tailshaft.
  25. Only problem is hes in SA Red :). Now in my KE30 I used a TA22 gearbox and the tailshaft from a KE30 went straight on. Only problem is I needed to shorten the tailshaft by about 20mm just to make sure there was enough shaft play for travel. This was with a T18 bellhousing to a 3TC, but in relation to the spline it may help  However like Red said. Shop around. You may want to try AJPS on AE86dc for a 4AGE. They know there stuff and usually don't dick people around (although people may say otherwise :hmm: ). Cheers Fusion
