  1. hey great looking car mate, love the colour and the wheels. has been lookin awesome from the moment u got it!! how bout some interior pics?? did u buy the circular halogen lights or somehow change them? cause i want halogen lights so was thinkin of goin with the sqaure headlight front cause i didnt think u could get the circular ones in halogen. :o
  2. hey mate nice car, even thought its an undercoat it still looks pretty cool lol. how big is the thermo fan? good luck with the paint job too, i rekon green look awesome on corollas!!
  3. where abouts is the sender for the temp gauge?? globe and fuse is fine for interior light so i will jus get one off a parts car i got lined up, will prob end up doin same 4 instrument cluster too.
  4. thanks 4 that, will give those solutions a go sometime this week when i got spare time and let u kno what happens
  5. temp gauge is not working at all but all other gauges work and the interior light does not work at all. any help at all would be awesome!!
  6. decided i might start small and then eventually go bigger, seriously considerin buyin a worked 4k with Ke70 5speed, should be easy 4 a first conversion which is good. thanks 4 all ur opinions and help
  7. yeah well I'm currently looking at putting a new engine in so if i do i will pull out the old engine and fix up all the rust in the bay and paint it. well its actually jus going a high op white which is pretty boring but it will do for now.
  8. i would love that 5k but the problem is how fast is it gonna sell? i only jus startin workin next week i rekon, earnin bout $900 a week. it would be sold pretty soon i rekon, that would be an easy installment which is awesome 4 me. :jamie:
  9. just bought some nice crystal aftermarket indicators for the rolla, will be boggin up original recess and making a new hole near the front door (like commodores).... :jamie: Here r some pics: http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...77791-2X-03.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...77791-2X-04.jpg
  10. well i actually do want it street legal and the 302 was just a thought cause it looked simple, but you guys would have a much betta idea of what is an easy conversion. the main thing is i want it street legal and faster then a 4k lol (which aint hard).
  11. thanks all 4 ur replies. first of all this will b my first conversion so i kinda want somethin easy to work with, and then i saw that 302 in a 55 that belongs to 302rolla and it just looked like an easy fit and it is a small engine so i wont have to move many things to the boot. i aint lookin 4 unreal speed or anythin jus something that will actually give my mates commodores a run 4 their money.
  12. hey I'm considering putting a new engine in my 55 sometime in the near future and having trouble on deciding what is a good option. i was thinkin if i go a V8 i would really consider going a 302 windsor cause I'm a big fan of them. but i was also considerng a CA18, SR20 or 4AGZE. the main problem is the damage 2 my wallet so i really want a cheap but powerful option. Price ranges?? any help at all would be appreciated
  13. hi all, i got this corolla from a friend bout 6 months ago and have only jus decided to fix it up and make it street legal. It's a 1979 KE55 Sedan, when i got it it had major rust issues and the paint was cracked and faded everywhere, the rear bumper was bent and all door seals are screwed so it has never really had a proper wash. the main rust was in the gaurds and is also the worst place to bog. i have completely stripped the car and sanded it back, 90% of rust work is fixed, as you can see most of the car is now in primer and now just waiting to find a good painter. the last places that needs bogging is in the gaurds as you can see in one of the pics taken from in the boot. (this rust is on both sides :lolcry: ) and have still got half of the bonnet left to sand. The engine has jus been fixed aswell, unfortunately no mods. The carby has been completely re-built, all new heater and radiator hoses, new head gasket, new water pump, tapped and buffed valves, new gaskets for the inlet and exhaust manifold and all new filters and spark plugs. I'm desperate to find a 2" exhaust for it as the current exhaust is buggered and chewin through the fuel. The interior is in ok condition, rear seat has a rip on top of it, front seats are ripped which is covered by those gay seat covers. Bought myself a chrome and woodgrain steering wheel and made a white gear boot which matches the white dash fascia (was bored one day). Thanks to JiP 01 the dash top looks near brand new, had a stereo in it but thats out. The only mods done are tinted tail lights, steering wheel, the white parts and the stereo. Here are some pics of it.... http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/TheStart.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...y/MajorRust.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...vedDoorLock.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/ro...uy/Interior.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/rollaguy/Rear.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/rollaguy/Front.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff30/rollaguy/Engine.jpg so anyway comment if u like. will post more pics up once it is painted and back together, hopefully shouldnt be too long!
  14. thaks 4 that mate, will definately come in handy. jus can't decide on what indicators lol
  15. thaks 4 that mate, will definately come in handy. jus can't decide on what indicators lol
  16. hey thanks mate, ur car looks bloody nice!! and where the indicators sit look even better then there original position. ROLLLA had VX series Statesman indicators on his 55 which are square and he had no problem fitting and wiring them so i think i will try n find a set of them cause it then saves boggin and smoothin the recess. have a look in the rides and projects section if u want (it's a bloody nice car)
  17. what did those indicators come off? i was thinking bout usin VX indicators on my 55' and boggin up the recess to make it flat. do they have a different connection to the corolla one? and also did u have to modify the hole in the qauter panel?
  18. yeah well I'm going to paint it soon so i will most likely bog up the recess and make it flat
  19. hey i have a KE55 and want to know if it will be easy to install Holden VX indicators onto it? would i have to change over the connectors and/or switch wires? i can't find any pics or info on this anywhere on internet and don't really wanna go round town unhooking peples indicators and taking a look at them....lol
  20. hey mate jus had a look at ur car and must say, that is the nicest lookin corolla i have ever seen!! i got the same model but with the circle light and hopin it will look as good as that soon, resprayin it white so will b a bit diff lol. great work mate looks a million bucks
  21. hey thanks man, will come in real handy from now on
  22. hey i have a 1979 KE55 Corolla and was wondering if anyone knew the stud pattern for it? had a mates 4 stud wheel but the diameter of the holes on the wheel were to small....
  23. lol thought i would stuff up somewhere. its the gasket that is between the carby and bottom bit if u get me? i don't really kno carby's very well. but I'm tryin 2 find a gasket for it.... well the small fuel chamber is on the bottom part and the top part has the float and the gasket is in between those 2 parts lol. i will try with the air compressor as that may help a fair bit. thanks fellas
  24. hey evryone, i am new to the rolla club and am jus gettin the drift of this so bear with me. i have a 1974 KE55 corolla and i have jus decided to fix it up, the prob is that when i try to start it, it is simply not starting. there is no carby gasket on it which i know prob don't help but that is not the problem. the engine was degreased a lil while back and the distributor was covered but i don't kno where else water could have got in to fuk it. Could it b to do with the carby? please help as i don't want and don't have the money to spend big on repairs!! :n:
