  1. Personal opinions.... I was refering to N/A. They sound like a bucket full of farts to me.
  2. LOL i was tossing up wether to say that or not, but in my opinion if I was going on a long drive it'd eventually piss me off. LOVE the sound of my twin's singing away at 7500rpm's
  3. Yeah mate if you fit the 3k head on a 4k it bumps the compression up, but the 3k head is also older and might need reconditioning and maybe corroded. heres my verdict on engines.. 1gge 2000cc: Probably couldnt be registered unless done illegaly or spent the money on getting everything up to an engineers standards. 4ag(z)e 1600cc:well worth the money, and plenty of spares and performance. Hence why it's so common. Ca18/sr20 1800-2000cc: Probably better bang for buck over the 4ag(z)e power wise and theres still plenty of spares around, but they sound like shit haha. 18rg 2000cc: Pretty strong and good motors, but unless you went EFI you would probably get sick of the induction from the twin carby's. also as stated they are old technology and quite hard to find parts for and when you do find parts they are dear as buggery. 2tg 1600cc: pretty much the same deal as 18rg except better... only because i have one in my corolla haha. TOP motors love to rev but so hard to get new parts that don't cost more than the car is worth. 3sge 2000cc: Pretty much owns all of the above motors, specialy if turbo'd. and its still Toyota. But you miaswell throw your wallet in the bin as there will be nothing left in it.
  4. My god that's insane!! that'd eat wrx's for breakfast :( Well done mate
  5. I rekon the aqua colour on the ute would be overrated as! As for rims I rekon get some 15x7 SSR xr4 longchamps. with a close to zero offset... would set the aqua right off!!
  6. BRD racing turbo pistons....
  7. :) weak effort haha, nah that sucks mate. where are you located?? have any trouble getting panels ive got 2 spare flat front ke70's with pretty good nick front ends. and possibly a roof haha. :P
  8. from what i know, they a fairly good setup standard wise and pretty reliable. They can also put out some horsepower (as most turbo'ed engines do) if you throw some money into it and still be fairly reliable if you don't goover the top. Check out this link....
  9. tell me if it's worth it, mines absolutely munted too haha
  10. haha did the same thing to my steering arms. Took mine to school and wasted their wire and gas though. how much did you shorten yours by? Nice car btw looks pretty clean.
  11. sounds like a t series dizzy, throw up some pics and we'l soon tell you :D
  12. yet to pull her out, but went pretty hot into and around a corner at around 70km/h and it started making horible noises. so I'm thinking oil surge and spun a big end, coz the keyway on the harmonic is 4x the size it should be and it wont turn over by hand.
  13. So the 2tg let go over the weekend and I'm not sure which way i want to go. i love the 2tg but parts are so rare and usually dear. So give me your personal idea's etc etc. Cheers Corey
  14. Finally got in contact and a full refund was given to me :P brought the ones off ebay yesterday morning, and just installed them 15minutes ago. AMEN to 'express post', whilst I'm on the subject i also brought a sychrometer to tune my solex's and i must say its alot easyer to do than everyone says. although i read through the guide on toy mods. btw I'm only 15... 16 on saturday tho ha, but it runs ALOT better than before.
  15. lol i just found those actually. except I'm going for the 43mm long ones. As the 2tg would rather the revs then torque :) I'm trying to contact the guy to refund my order but he doesnt seem to be answering.... :)
  16. yeah that would of been better... just payed for 4 of them of that tweakit site and now they're out of stock. jeez that annoys me. now its a 2-3week wait.
  17. thanks mate, yeah from what i know its a standard 2tg with twin solex's. The only non-standard bit is the headers, which are stainless steel 'hayashi racing' items. only borrowed from a mate. Cheers
  18. Hey all, Just made a quick vid at VMC (victorian motorkhana championship) of my ke70 with a smokey 2tg installed. :( finished up 3rd in class. Cheers only 15 years old too :jamie:
  19. haha jeez i obviously didnt look too hard hey?? but if i wanted to mount those '40mm id x 50mm long and 62mm bellmouths' id have to get a base tig welded on wouldnt I?
  20. well after searching through yahoo japan and all the ebays, and not finding anything that that was in reason of price and dimensions. i finally found a site that has 40mm dcoe ram tubes at around $55 a pair. ill add the site to my post later on... Thanks alot for all your help :jamie: tweak it performance
  21. May sound like a silly question, but ive found the perfect length ones that i want but i can only get them in 45mm. But it says to suit 40mm as well, would 2.5mm of a gap either side be much of a worry??
  22. yeah i was talking to a bloke at my local car club and he said the same thing about the air flows in from the sides. But he rekons the ones with just the huge flair like the top ones flow good. Hence my confusion haha.
  23. yeah i knew about the Long=torque short=revs bit. I have maybe 100mm TOPS if I'm lucky, i was thinking 50-60mm long with at least a 60mm flange which then goes down to 40mm to suit the carbs I'm running. Keep your opinions and suggestions coming :P Cheers
  24. Hey all, I'm looking at trying Ram Tubes or velocity stacks as some people call them on my 2tg next race. But theres a few different styles... I'm just wanting your opinion on what you think the best option is. It's only bitumen work so i don't plan on running filters either. Cheers
  25. deffinetely need a polish but looks tough IMO, also i rekon they'd look alot better in 14" or maybe 15" but thats just my stupid opinion haha. LOVEEEEE mk3's
