  1. Hey guys, i am after a Boss kit for the AE92 of course..if anybody has one they'd like to sell, would also be interested in steering wheel.. cheers XD
  2. top stuff! this will definitly skool those SSS pulsars XD see you had to go make a thread like this....when i have a stock AE102 sitting at home! but yeah love those headlights! i can't really amke out the bumper which one is it?
  3. you rekon? i wouldnt mind getting a new door especially if its a cheaper option compared to panel beater to fix it.
  4. yea i'll do it myself from now on, i've been guilty of lettin my dad take care of the cars before(he did a great job), so I'm only learning these little maintainance details as i go along, he's at work all the time so it all me now XD so far this forum has been heaps helpful, so i am truly grateful. As much as i have learnt i still cannot get it thru my head...in context that would mean i'd need full oil change every 5000-6000kms?
  5. yep i plan of getting disc brakes for the back(the front are disc), but not any time soon..i will do this mod when I'm getting new engine do it all in one go. i was thinking of gettin slotted rotors as well but it seems I'm gna have to get them machined i can't find a place that sells 4x100 slotted rotors :( the dint came from last nite. i was racing this guy..as i took the turn he skillfully took the inside but his tail hit the door at full speed....luckily neither of us lost control...i could keep it as a battle scar for the car ;) just kidding, the dint came with the car when i bought it  refer to earlier pics in the thread as well as my sig, you will notice it XD next i will need a hood, if you look carefully, when enlarging the photos, you will see mini dints on it especially the obvious one in the front. On another note I'm interested in gettin some xenons for the rolla, but seeing how it doesnt have "projectors" the result may not be as good, especially for oncoming vehicles.. is there another way for me to have "light blue" headlights? like blue bulbs? i saw some at repco, but I'm reluctant.
  6. i was thinking of that, but getting a the same white paint code might be tough
  7. it's ugly, what were they thinking?
  8. fair enough... but the engine only has 123,000kms on it? while I'm on the topic, what is the actual recommended oil for the 4AFC?
  9. Hey guys, how much would the average panel beater charge to fix this type of ding? or would it be worth getting a new door + panel? cheers!
  10. hey guys, quick question, how much would the average panel beater charge to fix this type of ding? plz n thank you! ;)
  11. thanks guys, All the more reason i need to install my oil pressure gauge asap! i was a bit concerned coz i couldnt believe the car was running on minimal oil without issues, I'm gna top it off with 10W30 oil 2moro after work.. then i'll have regular weekly checks. as for the valve stem seals, just by looking at them, what do i look for in terms of how i can tell if it's worn?
  12. I'm not sure now..because funnily enough, the car doesnt blow smoke no odd smells, no leaks in the engine bay and no oil patches ont he driveway either.. I'm beginning to think maybe the mechanic didnt put as much oil as he should have int he 1st place. but i will still check the valve stem seals thanks everyone!
  13. lets not diss honda because of a couple of ricers.. i will admit a corolla is more fun to mod and drive around, but honda is more refined..we all know that..execpt for the civic of course..
  14. the car is running fine, no issues, drives like a dream! but i figured id check the oil and there is non left...there isnt even a bit in the oil stick.. oh and yeah maybe not 3000kms...more like 3500-3900kms..
  15. Hi Everyone, I was just wondering, if i had a Lube service in my car, topped the oil levels to the max.. 3000kms later, is all the oil mean to vanish completely? or should the oil level have diminished by little? i am suspecting there may be a problem with the engine.. unless I'm completely wrong. can someone please shed some light on this. thanks
  16. New update: Longer Rear wheel lug Bolts special thanks to Parrot who gave me the idea and saved me lots of $$ by doing so ;) Refer to this thread: Longer Lug Bolts Reason: Spacers used because offset of Rims too large Bolts used: Mitsubishi Sigma Lug Bolts so i went to the wreckers.. Corolla Bolt compared to Sigma bolt: preparing the bolt: because they've been at the wreckers, exposed to weathering, they had some rust, using some WD40 fixed them up  then i had to replace the original bolts on my car to the sigma ones, it was tricky, but in the end i used the simple solution. 1. remove original bolt with hammer (be careful, so you don't ruin the thread) 2. place longer bolt in housing(make sure the teeth match) 3. using a loose nut place on the bolt as shown below: 4. then use the original nut and tighten really hard. The aim is to make sure the Lug bolt fits the housing firmly 5. Make sure the new lug bolt is full fitted into the housing. 6. After having done all 4, Place the drum back on. (for disc brake, place the disk rotor back on) 7. Double check your work. 8. Clean the surface of the drum, place spacer on. (because i am using a universal one. i have to adjust it once the wheel is on to make sure its centered. 9. Place wheel back on. tighten all nuts. 10. Done! i know this wasnt an exciting mod, but having longer bolts allows me to use spacers with larger wheels.
  17. you are right :( I went to the wreckers today and got the bolts from the Mitshubishi Sigma (of course i had already taken a bolt from a ae92 rolla for comparision) thread pitch is the same, and it's a perfect fit! i just fitted them on this afternoon, they're great! I'm very grateful that you brought that up, you have saved me a lot of time and thought in terms of longer bolts fro my ae92! cheers  refer to my thread to see how I'm going ;) http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=34123 Sigma Bolts compared to Corolla AE92 Bolt:
  18. hey i don't mean to be such a noob...but i am assuming if i get the bolts from the sigma they'll be a straight fit into the ae92?
  19. awesome ride mate! its great to see another ae92 sedan goin strong! i like how you've tried to keep it original but with some class..keep up the good work!
  20. that thing would look awesome doing burnouts smoking the place up :D
  21. Hi, I'm not very familiar with the 4AFC engine.. i have a corolla that has it, did some research on google, learnt a bit. but i couldnt make sense of this photo below.. what is that black cylinder "thing" where the air filter should sit? thanks :D
  22. nice work on the 20v Aquisition XD installing the tacho wasnt hard, its basically "plug and play" fist buy yourself a gauge cluster for the AE92 that has a tacho in it. (got mine at the wreckers for $50) the only problem is removing the original cluster and placing the new one, it's a delicate operation that has to be done with care so that you don't damage anything i should propably do a decent step by step write-up to help out...but i'd need proper photos :D so anyway if you are the hands on type the following steps should be able to help you. (you do this at your own risk, i am not responsible for any damages to your car) here's a quick write up with photos that i already took.. 1. Remove the Dash face plate with care. (2 screws, the rest are clips to be unclipped) 2. Remove the Cluster cover (6 screws from memory) you will then end up with: 3. At this point you can remove the steering whell to give you more working space. you will clearly see 2 screws at the top of the speedometer and another 2 screws at the bottom of it attaching it to the car. 4. remove those screws. Now comes the tricky part. 5. pop the hood go to the engine bay. 6. Undo the odometer cable (this is what accrues the kilometers in your car) - because the cable is short it'll prevent you from pulling the gauge cluster from the dashboard. this is why you undo the odometer cable. 7. go back in the car slowly pull the cluster out. (you will only have enough room to put your hand behind it) 8. unclip/unplug all 3 electric cables. (behind the speedometer/cluster) 9. lastly unclip the odometer cable. (you can feel the cable, Hold/press the plasic clip hard and pull, it should come off) 10. your gauge cluster should now have come out. 11. replace with new cluster that has the tacho in it. plug everything back to normal. if you wish to transfer your orginal kms, you'd have to pull the gluster apart. (i wouldnt recommend this to a lot of people because it isnt a simple thing to do, i will do a proper write up for this later) now you can just do the reverse and put everything back together. . P.s you can also install the GTi dash with the extra gauges such as voltage + oil meter + clok, however youd nee a whole new dash harness. i hope this helps.. good luck.
  23. Oh awesome! thanks ;) i was gonna go to the wreckers and full try the nuts on both the corolla and the landcruiser to see if it fit :) i'm still gna do that, somestimes the thread is damaged and you can't tell unless you have a closer look.
  24. so anyway..this is a basic update.. i painted the part between the tail lights black, which was is very common, but it has a nice new shiny feel to it :) Before: After the back looks better than before imo. the car is starting to look like i imagined it, slowly getting there ;)
