  1. would a higher offset of 10 make a huge difference? i have 45+ offset thinking of a rim that only comes in 55+ offset, same 16x6.5.
  2. what happens when you get a higher offset than standard?
  3. standard alloy's do, unfortunately i got cheap-ass steelies :y:
  4. Charlie from Bob-jane: "offset +45" :y:
  5. just as i thought.. toyota parts specialist: "what's offset mean?"
  6. Hey guys, would anyone know the offset of the gen10 rolla? i'll be calling up toyota in the morning, but doubting they'd know.. I'm looking to get some wheels, but want to make sure the offset is right, would +50 offset be too high?!?!
  7. i'm sure you could get an upgrade, but it'll have to be aftermarket and there's no such thing as a cheap aftermarket brake upgrade.. and the upgrade kits out there are always overkill :lolcry:
  8. my car "tram-lines" on shitty roads so i think i should change the rims to a proper offset. i doubt there are any suspension mods for gen yet.. probably have to wait atleast another 6mths.. the gen10 is the 1st rolla to have a 5x114.3 stud pattern, it's about bloody time!
  9. the body and the rim colour are really similar, the body is a bit more purply though.. here are some more pics. you can really see that the offset is wrong.. the rims are 16's, just needs to be lowered a bit, yea it does look like a rally car.. :lolcry:
  10. here's a pic i took with my phone, i'll get some better angles that show the offset.
  11. that's right max tyre width is 205, which is sufficent
  12. just took some pics before the rain came down again, i'll post them up when i find the cable for the camera. i might just put some integra typeR wheels on, Fwd offset and same size.
  13. there's plenty of clearance from the guards and as well as the inner guard walls. they were the first things i checked, which it great. the rim does stick a little out from the front guards, maybe 10mm at the most, barely legal  and is perfect at the rears. i have upgraded from 195 to 225 tyres so handling is great, but the steering is a little heavy now, which is expected and i think it's working the p/s hard. i don't plan on using the GTR rims for long, it'll be wearing down the steering bushing too much because of the different offset.
  14. did i few quick calculations, heres what i found: GTR rims, 30+ ET, 8J. IF corolla has a 38+ ET, 6J, then the difference would be 8mm, would a 8mm difference in offset be detrimental to the steering? perhaps spacers on the GTR rims would help equal the offset.
  15. right :P anyway, back on topic, the stud pattern is 5 x 114.3. my old GTR wheels fit perfectly! except for the RWD offset.. any major damages from using a lower offset? i think GTR runs a 32 offset.
