  1. But I don't want to make sacrifices!!! LOL. The new car I picked up is an RT40 1600S, really original too, factory twin carbs, disc brakes, booster etc all there, 4 on the floor with buckets and full instrumentation ;D but the interior has faded from crimson/maroon coloured to shit brown. I can't decide if i should keep the blue auto one and wall it and sack it with a visor, or keep the 1600S and Hayashi streets it, sack it and lip it, Haha... I like the idea of having the walled one cos since i sold my Hilux i miss having a sweet crusier, but i like the idea of having a one owner really original 1600S too!!!!it's all too hard. PS, your Stout is THE BOMB, is it repainted or real clean? the old school air con is sick to death... i'm jealous of it, if that makes you feel better.
  2. HAHAHAHA, amazinger. The car is really cool, and will look amazing with all the gear on it, but i prolly wont be the one to do it now that i'm selling it... i still might... depends on what sort of money i can sell it for... i think i overpaid for it when i bought it but couldn't say no cos it was so original... so i may over capatilise by getting a venetian and walls... but would REALLY like to see it done... decisions decisions...
  3. Yeah, the Rona says Dulon silver blue, the KE20 is Dulon Safety Wattle, Haha. I will prolly not give the old girl too much more love now... Finish polishing up her chrome and cleaning the trim and then i'll be selling her... I picked up another old Toyota today and it means i need to sell this girl, AND the 20. But I will never sell my 26, Haha.
  4. What about the Panno? Haha... I bought something else today actually so i'll have to get onto the for sale section... as i now need to sell both this fine Safety Wattle 71 KE20, AND the shovel...
  5. Thanks :) i like the colour too... it's actually a factory monocoat metallic... the metallic has gone to shit a bit on the roof and bonnet and boot but is still pretty respectable, it looks much better now that i've washed it, trying to decide how to tackle the duco, if i cut it i think it will ruin it as being a monocoat the metallic sits on top and will prolly all cut off... i'll prolly just leave it. I don't think i'll pull the cards off and cav wax it, they've been there a very long time, they'd prolly all break when i pulled them off and then i'd have the shits. Haha. I might... see how bored i get this week with the mrs out of town. Still got plenty of chrome to polish though... And those are the plates fitted to it from the dealership!!! Dave
  6. Cheers Josh :) I've had a few 20s, it's getting hard to find them with as little rust as this one has, and as good in the body as this one is too... I might have to sell it yet :(
  7. Wheels??? Shakotan!!!
  8. Hi Mate, Thanks :) I think it's pretty tough! I actually got the chin lip from someone on this site, 2nd hand but never been fitted... so I can't really help sorry... My mate picked one up not too long ago from Ebay America maybe? Sorry I can't help more... Dave.

Name: Hi, My name is Dave Car: 1973 KE26 2 door, 2 seat Panno Motor & Driveline: She's running a rebuilt 5k with Tighe cam, Redline manifold, twin side draft dellorto's, Headers and exhaust, KE70 radiator with thermo and a 5 speed. Suspension & Brakes: KE30 axles and drums rear, and KE70 front discs, has reset leaves with reversed eyes, Navara rear shocks, modified front struts with SV21 shocks and Liberty springs, and a re drilled K frame for Camber. Has new Ball joints, steering arms, Pitman arm, Idler arm, and all bushes been replaced with Whiteline nolathane items. Wheels & Tyres: I've stuck 15x6 front and 15x7 rear Work Equip 01s under it with 185/45s Interior: Liberty seats in black, recovered dash pad, average black door trims and carpet, Razo gear knob, TE27 instrument cluster, OMP dish steering wheel and awesome K's meter temp gauge. Body: Given a quick straighten out and prime up, blocked and then pained in High Opacity white outside with Holden Impulse blue engine bay and interior (needs to be redone one day as i did it in about a week cos i needed to reg it quick smart), Has TA22 GT guard mirrors, TE27 front lip and a 71 SE facelift. Other: It's sweet as tits :D I love it, it's like a go kart to drive I just need to spend a bit of time on the body and clean the wheels up properly one day. There's more pics of it in my profile gallery if you want to look :) There's a short poor quality video here :D
  10. Hi Jeri, I have a panel shop in Albury and we've just started working with a paintless guy who quickly learned that i'm an old Toyota nut... He also does a bit of work out of a storage shed in Wodonga (nearby) and it was in there, the owner mentioned he was going to move on some of the stuff in the shed and the beater thought of me and it happened from there. It's had two registered owners, the original (Mrs Uera May Coleman from Wangaratta nearby) whose name is in the book, and the guy I bought it from who had owned it for the past 14 years and is a mechanic and enthusiast :) It was garaged by the first owner and stored by the second and rarely driven... I've started polishing up the chrome today and it looks brand new again!!! the paint is a different story but i don't want to repaint because i'd rather have a clean original girl with some blemishes than a repainted one that could be hiding anything. I grabbed it because it is so stupidly clean, you don't see cars this old this good very often anymore, but am waiting to hear about my garage extension and if it's too costly, or unachievable i'll be moving her on as I don't have space for long term storage for her. I'll be pretty sad if I have to sell her and will make sure she goes to a good home.
  11. Haha, me and some mates took it to Performance Car Mania the other weekend and by christ! I think it's got a ratso uni joint in the rear, the vibration at 70-80km/h is killer... settles down about 95 though... so great for around town cruising, not so great on the highway just yet...
  12. Really nice looking 55 mate, you've done well ;)

  14. Hey All! Picked this little '71 SE KE20 up the other week, had a bit of a biff in the LH 1/4 but i got most of it out wthout damaging the paint, gave her a buff, painted all the garnishes 2 pack grey and 2 pack cleared the lamps, lowered her and love it to bits!!! Here's a couple of pics... Just one of when i first got it and one of it lowered, buffed and with some dents pushed out :) and one of the dent in the 1/4 before and after... Still gotta clean up the trim as it's very grimey. She's a 2 speed like the corona and staying that way! I LOVE 71S!!!
  15. Hey all! I picked up a really decent RT40 corona last week... Haven't cleaned it yet but check it out! The trusty 2R and toyoglide have travelled just 38000 miles from new, it has no rust at all, amazing chrome (no dents whatsoever), very very good trim, door trims and seats are in great nick, carpet is good except a little worn where your spare foot sits, dash and steering wheel are fantastic, dash pad has a crack though, body is very straight, just has small dent on the top of the LH rear quarter (1/3 of the size of an egg) and unfortunately has a bit of a scrape on the LH side also (damn old people), it has the original service book and owners manual still in plastic in new condition, and also has an unused tool kit in the plastic bag still in the boot! It drives brilliantly, just has a busted exhaust hanger, and is so original it's crazy... everything under the bonnet is as it was when it came out of the factory... it even still has the funny glass fuel filter! I plan to dump it on some white walls with a visor and venetian (done to death i know but will suit it). Looks great parked up with my Panno :)

    My Ke20

I have a 2 door Panno... not a wagon, and it's not nice, it's more sweet :D Haha. I wanted to buy your ke20 when it was up for sale on carsales a little while back (I think, it was a bullshit clean white/red but I prefer early fronts and have a feeling the one i saw was flat front) but didn't have the cash... i've just bought a pretty clean 71 SE in Safety Wattle yellow though so it'll do. Picked up a shovel nose Corona this week too.. done 38000 miles from new, i'm actually going to bother putting pics up it's so ridiculously clean! Anyway, love your KE20 ;)
  17. Hey Guys.... I don't believe I went through a dual lane roundabout on the general driving vid, so can't have used two lanes... so ner ner. It has some more work... it's rebuilt with a Tighe Cam, Redline Manifold, Twin side draft Dellortos with a proper tune, headers and custom exhaust, no head work though, aside from double valve springs... so it has some potential for improvement... and has a ke70 5 speed, it goes very well for what it is :D keeps on par with my brother's wife's N15 SSS. I know it will rev to 8k but i don't take it there often... it still has points type ignition, the short vid of pulling off the highway gets some revs I think... or the one pulling onto the highway... Haha. I'm surprised at how well it goes for a K motor, with a bit of porting and compression it'd be notably quicker again i'd imagine. Dave
  18. Hey! I made a couple of short poor quality videos whilst driving my KE26 Panno the other night... It has a 5K with twin side drafts and some stuff on it, Check the vid if you want to see how a decent 5K goes :D or hear the sweet induction :D Bit of general driving Pulling onto highway Pulling off highway

  20. I agree!!! That TE27 looks sweet! Bit of a roughy but rough=tough... wheels are sweet as tits!!!!
  21. Nah, everyone agrees, they're sick.
  22. Corolla's, actually everything, is it's coolest at its lowest. I've had KE20s with about 2 coils left in the front, not 2 cut out, they ride like absolute shit because they're pretty well riding metal on metal but when you pull up in your driveway and hop out and look at it... all the angry feelings go away cos it looks so feckin sweet. I have a KE26 at the moment, it has reversed leaf eyes and flattened leafs with navara shocks, and it has cut down struts with SV21 short shocks and B4 liberty springs (heavier rate) and it rides fine, the spring rate in the front is a little heavy and bounces which i will fix with a coil over kit when i paint the car properly, and the axle housings hit the floor if i hit a decent bump at speed but it looks so good i don't care at all!!! LOL I'm going to notch it when i paint it and get the coil over kit so i can get it even lower... If it's low you like then stuff your shocks, cho the shit out of the springs!!! there's a good chance that any change in height will ruin them cos they're prolly 20 years old.
  23. Not sure why it went? Just did... I'll check out that HotSpark thing. I didn't think i'd need to change my rings?? It doesn't need to be 11.1, I just want to up my compression as much as possible while the head is off... if that's 10.5 or something then that'll do... Does anyone know where i can get a flash head gasket and stud kit from? i'm having trouble finding much in the way of performance parts for a 5K...
  24. Hi kids, I've got a 5K in my KE26 with a Tighe 104 (from memory) cam, headers, a fresh bottom end and a redline manifold with twin side draft Dellorto's on it... It's just done a head gasket and while it's apart i'm wanting to match port the head to the inlet manifold, install an electronic dissy, and up the compression to 11.1, i've read stuff on the net about the 5K having dished pistons and not much head height or something, is it possible to deck the head enough to achieve this much compression? or will i crash things? Ideally i'd like someone to say, take XXX thou from your head and you'll have 11.1 compression, but i'm sure it's not that easy? Also, can i use a 4K electronic Dissy in my 5K? or are the gears or soemthing different? Thanks in advance for any help! If this info is around somewhere already i'll happily read it there if someone can link me? i can't find it cos i'm pretty useless on computers... Dave
  25. Looks good man :) very nice build, looks super clean, and nice attention to detail.

SR is cool, but NA 4A is the business in an old school rolla!

    Dave
