  1. sorry didnt see that post... my bad...
  2. I need to swap the heater box over now as its starting to get cold and wet.... how do I do it? what needs to be removed to get to it? and how much of a pain in the arse is it going to be?
  3. so how do I get the ke3x onwards 114.3 stud pattern instead of the ke20 stud pattern???
  4. all the searches I tried came up with nothing.... except errors... and thanks for those two, but niether of them tell me what I want to know... I have a ke55 wreck that I want to use the brakes and hubs out of in a ke20 so as a they stop better and b I get to have the better stud pattern and c I have them sitting there so why not use them...
  5. hi I did a search and couldnt find anything but if anyone can prove me wrong please do. ok what I want to do is put my ke55 struts and brakes etc into a ke20 how do I do it?
  6. there's a really good can of carby cleaner it nullon brand and seems to work pretty good. and back firing through the carb seems to clean em good.... :insane:
  7. maybe I might leave the cam untill I I get an engine stad and decided to rebuild the bottom end... cos even the good book makes it sound hard...
  8. well back to my question as I'm pretty sure its not the heater box but one of the copper pipes that come through the fire wall that go to heater box, am I able to repair that with heater house if this is the case? and does it have to come out of the car to do so?
  9. I assume a heater bow out of a 55 will fit into a 35?
  10. hey the other day when I changed my engine over I must have busted a heater hose somewhere between the firewall and the heater... since there all copper pipe from the fire wall to the heater and a real pain in the arse to get to if you have big hands is there an easy way to fix the massive puddle producing fountain and keep my heaters? oh I allready bypaced the heaters hoses from the engine to keep the water flowing through the engine and not onto my floor. so I guess I want to know if I can replace it with rubber heater hose or do I need new copper pipe?
  11. should I tackle the cam in or out of the car?
  12. can some one please explain cam specs to me? I sort of understand but not copletley the spec sheet I have been looking at is http://www.tighecams.com.au/COROLLA3K.htm namely the 113, 424 and 140. sorry if its a stupid question...
  13. I'm guessing thats gonna take me a while!!!
  14. oh and is there any trick to getting the cam in and out or is it just going to be a royal pain in the arse?
  15. felix are you saying not to use the bigport 3k head or to use it?
  16. yeah I was already planning on doing that when I got new valves. is there anything I should specificly get done to the head when I take it to the machine shop? as I will be doing that this week some time...
  17. well I guess I'll have to take a bit off the head then... and I want be going through an engine builder I'll be doing it myself... I think I stick with the standard twins till they can't suply enough juice.
  18. cheers, for that. 10.5:1 is what I should acheive from the head swap I think. and as for the carbs well I know I should be able to pick up a pair of webers for under $200. what sort of su's should I look out for? and what sort of dollars should I expect to pay? and from everything I have read I believe that I should use holden 202 valve springs, 4k or bigger valves. I'm not going to touch the bottom end yet. but when I do all I'm going to is freshen it up a bit. is it worth considering running a elcetric fuel pump instead of the mechanical one? and I have seen both good and bad results from thermo fans so I'm unsure if I sould get one or not. the car is already fun to drive I just want it to be funner.
  19. ok firstly I'm in tas, secondly I don't want to spend heaps on the rolla as I already have another money pit/ car. the rolla is only really going to be used for club events and playing on some gravel roads. all I intend in doing is tidying up the head, bigger valves, spings, a cam. and maybe a pair of webers on the twin manifold thinking a pair of 28/36 thats if I get game enough to run some huge compresion and run it on avgas. now if anyone can give me some constructive sugestion on valves, cam and spring that would be great. Cheers,
  20. Hey peoples, I need some help/advice. I just put a 4k, 5 speed, extractors and ehaust and factory twins in my ke35.
