  1. Thanks for that redwarf. I don't post that often, but the project is on the move now, since I have been building my own house and it's nearing completion.
  2. Some updates to the car. Ditched the 3vz idea for a future project. Decided to go with the tried and true method. 2jz and C4
  3. Thanks for that Paul. Sorry, I havent been on the forum for a while. I have been waiting on the sale of my house in Brisbane to start getting serious about the project. Next big thing is to buy my wheels and tyres (10.5" slicks), so I can 4-bar the rear end. If you need any info on a similar project feel free to ask.
  4. Here's my project. It has been on the back burner for a while, but is now picking up pace. This started as a granny spec ke20, that I bought about 9 years ago. The original plan was to turbo the fiat engine I got from a friend, and just run it as a street oriented car. You can see it in the attached picture. This has been taken out now, and was loaned to my friend for his 9 second Honda s600. I,ve since got it back and will use it for another project. The plan is to north-south a 3vz-fe motor from the wide bodied camry (which I've done) and with a C4 auto fit it into the 20. Diff is the trusty old nine inch with full spool. The diff that was in it, came from a 620 ute (datsun). They need little if no modding to fit. This however doesn't suit my plans any longer, so it's definately a nine inch. The motor will be supercharged with a Rotrex supercharger, which should be here any day now. It's the new C38-92 model rated at 720hp. Originally I was going with a big garrett turbo, but the idea of a supercharger just appeals to me. As it all happens I'll post pics and descriptions.
  5. Guys, I need to know the diameter of the 3vz-fe harmonic balancer, so I can work out what size supercharger pulley to use in my KE20. I've actually got a couple of these motors but they are located away from where I am at the moment. Thanks
  6. GSX1400 for sale 40000 km's. Has 4 into 1 Yoshi exhaust system, custom seat, polished rims, rack, radiator guard , etc. I'm located in Brisbane. The bike has just been serviced. I'm chasing around $7200 for it as I want to further fund a KE20 drag project, I'm currrently building.
  7. Did you buy this car from Ashgrove in Brisbane
  8. Thanks heaps guys
  9. Thanks Sam Q, I am away from the car this weekend but I'll have a go on Monday. Any idea what the reason is for this setup. Thanks
  10. Gentlemen, I'm in need of some assistance, as no amount of extensive searching has given me the answer. After recoeing the head, I've found that the intake cam in this engine has a two piece gear arrangement that after some searching have realized that I should have inserted a bolt to retain it in it's original position. Does anyone know how to set it back to original. Thanks

  12. Thanks Dougy
  13. Guys. Are ae82 rear doors the same for Seca and hatch
  14. Good luck with the build Cameron. A few years ago I rebodied a 2wd Hilux as a hot rod and got the rego as a rebodied vehicle, which is alot cheaper and easier to do. As long as you use the chassis and brakes and suspension, it should be registered as a suzuki and only incur the rules and regs pertaining to that vehicle. If my memory serves me, going the Individually constructed vehicle route means you have to comply to current ADR's which means a current engine that meets emission laws, along with other near impossible to comply with regs. Ask your engineer about this or even get in touch with a hot rod club who could steer you in the right direction.
  15. I was a little suprised when you said acrylic, cause that's a hell of a shine. By the way I still haven't got that bonnet open lol. If you're still keen on my rims and caps, I'll gladly swap for some corona rims.
  16. Scott, Out of interest, what paint system do you use.
  17. Hey Scott, those rims came from me I think. Dougy can comfirm. I wish I kept them now.
  18. A v8 in a ke70 may be a viable proposition, if you can convince an engineer that your car weighs more than a thousand kilo's, which it probably comes close to. However it would have to stay naturally asperated. I think if consider the weight factor, the engineering involved and the fact you could extract more power out of 4agte, I'd say its not worth the hassle.
  19. Thanks for the replies guys. Will be doing more wiring this weekend and will just wire it in the ae82 fashion for now and see if it all functions properly .
  20. I'm currently wiring in a gze and according to the schematic I have the blue\black stripe wire from the Opening curcuit relay goes straight to the fuel pump itself. Surely 4age would have a relay to power the pump itself.
  21. Can anyone tell me where the location of the fuel pump relay is in a ae82. Thanks
  22. As the heading says I need someone with greater electrical knowledge than I possess to help me out with the wiring in the swap. I have many wiring diagrams and have a multimeter, but am still bamboozled. Can anyone help. Thanks
  23. Had a read of that topic- interestingly, there was a gain to be made. However with only 8 degree more duration and 1/2 mm lift the gains are minimal. I have a dead early blue top lying around and will probably swap them in at a later date. Does anyone know where to buy aftermarket in the Brisbane area.
  24. Have been reserching the possibility of fitting n/a bigport cams into my late 92 gze motor. Would love to hear from someone who has done this and enlighten me as to the worth, and what ill effects this has on the drivability.
  25. I'm in the process of swapping gze from ae92 levin into my ae82 T/c. Would the dash swap over without too much drama, or is it a difficult swap
