  1. Cheers man, My mate has metioned his level 2S license before, i might look into getting one once i finally get my car (and then get it together).
  2. Sweet dude, looks like fun ;) Has got me interested, what kind of cost is it to enter these events and what licenses do you need ? :bash: Cheers
  3. yeah, thats what i decided; >head port + polish >cam + compresson to suit >extractors > 32/36 weber with stock snorkel on top, with holes drilled in the bottom to allow more air to be drawn in
  4. Exactly what i was getting at. I am still going to put in a bit of a cam, which is technically iilegal. But i figure if it looks like a bit of a sleeper and i don't get to exicted while driving on the street i will be fine.
  5. Seriously do some more research before you get to comitted to this build, to make sure you are not breaching the laws in a major way. (ie. no turbos/superchargers) Technically as they say there is a ban on "all performance modifications", but chances are most cops don't know KE corollas and their engines from a bar of soap. Whilst also they probably won't be to concerened in general about a 4-banger corolla (as long as your not making trouble), but instead they will be trying to restrict the guys with hot 6s that are producing big power. Unfortunately I am going to be under these new laws as well (i turn 18 in august), so have had to change my plans a bit. I am looking at dropping in a warm 5k, once again banking on the fact that; A-cops won't know the diff, and B-if i don't trouble them, they won't trouble me. Have a look at this (i asked a similar question a while back) Vic P Laws As others have said, use the faq and google. (still ask questions where necesary, but do some reseach first to find answers where possible that way) Good luck, Dougal
  6. WOW !!!! Thats gonna be some fun :jamie: Love that intake mani :hmm: (and the power it would produce)
  7. ^^^^ Yeah X 2 I wanna see some pics of this mean machine :jamie:
  8. Thanks man, good to know. Lets see some more pics ! (including some of the engine)
  9. Hey man, looks sweet, good job :jamie: Just out of interest, what color is that ? (is it a custom tint or a more readily available one) Cheers
  10. Cool, thanks for that Do you know of a place where i could pick one up ? (a perticular wreckers etc)
  11. Nice man, sounds good. If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay ? (i am looking at using a 5k as well and want an idea on cost) Cheers
  12. Looks good man, well done ;) What ended up going into the 5k ? (cam specs, etc) Cheers
  13. Performance Ignition Have not used them myself, but mates tell me they are the best by far.
  14. Would love to come and see it, but, unfortunately no car for me yet :hmm: I will try and convince my mate to take me in his XB-GT :S Keep us posted for a final date
  15. Thanks guys, I am glad i checked it up as it is quite a process ! Thanks for your help, it looks like i am up for at least $700, not including a roady or getting the car to vic. Cheers
  16. Thanks both of you, I will bear this in mind when looking at this vehicle. Kangaroosa, I now do remember seeing that page on the vicroads site, i was just unsure on whether i would need to get an inspection done. Looks like i will have to pay for an inspection as well, though i might ring them to clarify. I have heard of unregistered vehicle permits before, and saw the option on their website. I can not see anything that says you can get a permit to drive a vehicle between states, is this the case ? Cheers
  17. Hey all, I am considering buying a car based in adelaide and want to know what is involved in getting it registered in vic, and what it might cost. I have looked on the vicroads/sa equivelent site but could not find a definitive answer. The car i am buying looks like it will run out of rego by the time i would possibly take delivery. I assume that if it were to run out of sa reg, i would have to get a vic rwc and then register it under my name here. Is this so? If it still had sa reg would i still need a rwc to get it vic registered ? Anyone done this before/know what it may cost ? Thanks in advance for your help, :hmm: Dougal
  18. Will drink most except; goon, passion pop, absinthe (most days i would say beer before spirits)
  19. I second that notion  Too true, yeah i have a soft spot for rollas, but the aussie muscle car also is an important part of our automobile history. Long live the; GTR XU-1, A9X, L34, SLR5000, GTS, GTHO etc, etc :)
  20. ^^^^ yeah x 2 i may try to enter in the future (when i got money to burn)
  21. Sweet job dude, good color as well
